Psalms 124

1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:

Si no hubiera sido el Señor quien estuvo de nuestro lado (que Israel ahora diga);

2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us,

Si no hubiera sido el Señor quien estuvo de nuestro lado, cuando los hombres vinieron contra nosotros;

3 Perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,

Habrían hecho una comida de nosotros mientras vivíamos, en el calor de su ira contra nosotros:

4 Perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.

Hubiéramos estado cubiertos por las aguas; las corrientes habrían recorrido nuestra alma;

5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.

Sí, las aguas del orgullo habrían pasado por nuestra alma.

6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.

Alabado sea el Señor, que no nos ha dejado herir con sus dientes.

7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.

Nuestra alma se ha liberado como un pájaro de la red de los cazadores; la red está rota, y somos libres.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Nuestra ayuda está en el nombre del Señor, el hacedor del cielo y de la tierra.
