Psalms 124

1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:

Nyanyian ziarah Daud. Bagaimana seandainya TUHAN tidak memihak kita? Hai Israel, jawablah demikian:

2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us,

"Seandainya TUHAN tidak memihak kita waktu kita diserang lawan,

3 Perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,

maka kita sudah ditelan hidup-hidup, oleh kemarahan mereka yang meluap-luap.

4 Perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.

Maka kita sudah dihanyutkan banjir, dan digenangi air;

5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.

maka kita sudah mati tenggelam dalam pusaran air yang seram."

6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.

Mari kita bersyukur kepada TUHAN, sebab Ia tidak membiarkan kita dimusnahkan lawan.

7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.

Kita seperti burung yang lepas dari jerat pemburu, jerat itu sudah putus, dan kita pun lepas!

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Pertolongan kita datang dari TUHAN yang menciptakan langit dan bumi.
