Psalms 118
1 Give praise to Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Danket dem HERRN; denn er ist freundlich, und seine Güte währet ewiglich.
2 Let Israel now say that he is good: that his mercy endureth for ever.
Es sage nun Israel: Seine Güte währet ewiglich.
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Es sage nun das Haus Aaron: Seine Güte währet ewiglich.
4 Let them that fear the Lord now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Es sagen nun, die den HERRN fürchten: Seine Güte währet ewiglich.
5 In my trouble I called upon the Lord: and the Lord heard me, and enlarged me.
In der Angst rief ich den HERRN an, und der HERR erhörte mich und tröstete mich.
6 The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man can do unto me.
Der HERR ist mit mir, darum fürchte ich mich nicht; was können mir Menschen tun?
7 The Lord is my helper: and I will look over my enemies.
Der HERR ist mit mir, mir zu helfen; und ich will meine Lust sehen an meinen Feinden.
8 It is good to confide in the Lord, rather than to have confidence in man.
Es ist gut, auf den HERRN zu vertrauen, und nicht sich verlassen auf Menschen.
9 It is good to trust in the Lord, rather than to trust in princes.
Es ist gut auf den HERRN vertrauen und nicht sich verlassen auf Fürsten.
10 All nations compassed me about; and in the name of the Lord I have been revenged on them.
Alle Heiden umgeben mich; aber im Namen des HERRN will ich sie zerhauen.
11 Surrounding me they compassed me about: and in the name of the Lord I have been revenged on them.
Sie umgeben mich allenthalben; aber im Namen des HERRN will ich sie zerhauen.
12 They surrounded me like bees, and they burned like fire among thorns: and in the name of the Lord I was revenged on them.
Sie umgeben mich wie Bienen; aber sie erlöschen wie Feuer in Dornen; im Namen des HERRN will ich sie zerhauen.
13 Being pushed I was overturned that I might fall: but the Lord supported me.
Man stößt mich, daß ich fallen soll; aber der HERR hilft mir.
14 The Lord is my strength and my praise: and he is become my salvation.
Der HERR ist meine Macht und mein Psalm und ist mein Heil.
15 The voice of rejoicing and of salvation is in the tabernacles of the just.
Man singt mit Freuden vom Sieg in den Hütten der Gerechten: “Die Rechte des HERRN behält den Sieg;
16 The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength: the right hand of the Lord hath exulted me: the right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength.
die Rechte des HERRN ist erhöht; die Rechte des HERRN behält den Sieg!”
17 I shall not die, but live: and shall declare the works of the Lord.
Ich werde nicht sterben, sondern leben und des HERRN Werke verkündigen.
18 The Lord chastising hath chastised me: but he hath not delivered me over to death.
Der HERR züchtigt mich wohl; aber er gibt mich dem Tode nicht.
19 Open ye to me the gates of justice: I will go into them, and give praise to the Lord.
Tut mir auf die Tore der Gerechtigkeit, daß ich dahin eingehe und dem HERRN danke.
20 This is the gate of the Lord, the just shall enter into it.
Das ist das Tor des HERRN; die Gerechten werden dahin eingehen.
21 I will give glory to thee because thou hast heard me: and art become my salvation.
Ich danke dir, daß du mich demütigst und hilfst mir.
22 The stone which the builders rejected; the same is become the head of the corner.
Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, ist zum Eckstein geworden.
23 This is the Lord’s doing: and it is wonderful in our eyes.
Das ist vom HERRN geschehen und ist ein Wunder vor unsern Augen.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made: let us be glad and rejoice therein.
Dies ist der Tag, den der HERR macht; lasset uns freuen und fröhlich darinnen sein.
25 O Lord, save me: O Lord, give good success.
O HERR, hilf! o HERR, laß wohl gelingen!
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name Lord. We have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
Gelobt sei, der da kommt im Namen des HERRN! Wir segnen euch, die ihr vom Hause des HERRN seid.
27 The Lord is God, and he hath shone upon us. Appoint a solemn day, with shady boughs, even to the horn of the alter.
der HERR ist Gott, der uns erleuchtet. Schmücket das Fest mit Maien bis an die Hörner des Altars!
28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, and I will exalt thee. I will praise thee, because thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
Du bist mein Gott, und ich danke dir; mein Gott, ich will dich preisen.
29 O praise ye the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Danket dem HERRN; denn er ist freundlich, und sein Güte währet ewiglich.
