Psalms 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory.
Sio kwetu sisi, Ee Bwana, sio kwetu sisi, bali utukufu ni kwa jina lako, kwa sababu ya upendo na uaminifu wako.
2 For thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake: lest the gentiles should say: Where is their God?
Kwa nini mataifa waseme, “Yuko wapi Mungu wao?”
3 But our God is in heaven: he hath done all things whatsoever he would.
Mungu wetu yuko mbinguni, naye hufanya lolote limpendezalo.
4 The idols of the gentiles are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.
Lakini sanamu zao ni za fedha na dhahabu, zilizotengenezwa kwa mikono ya wanadamu.
5 They have mouths and speak not: they have eyes and see not.
Zina vinywa, lakini haziwezi kusema, zina macho, lakini haziwezi kuona;
6 They have ears and hear not: they have noses and smell not.
zina masikio, lakini haziwezi kusikia, zina pua, lakini haziwezi kunusa;
7 They have hands and feel not: they have feet and walk not: neither shall they cry out through their throat.
zina mikono, lakini haziwezi kupapasa, zina miguu, lakini haziwezi kutembea; wala koo zao haziwezi kutoa sauti.
8 Let them that make them become like unto them: and all such as trust in them.
Wale wanaozitengeneza watafanana nazo, vivyo hivyo wale wote wanaozitumainia.
9 The house of Israel hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
Ee nyumba ya Israeli, mtumainini Bwana, yeye ni msaada na ngao yao.
10 The house of Aaron hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
Ee nyumba ya Aroni, mtumainini Bwana, yeye ni msaada na ngao yao.
11 They that fear the Lord hath hoped in the Lord: he is their helper and their protector.
Ninyi mnaomcha, mtumainini Bwana, yeye ni msaada na ngao yao.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us, and hath blessed us. He hath blessed the house of Israel: he hath blessed the house of Aaron.
Bwana anatukumbuka na atatubariki: ataibariki nyumba ya Israeli, ataibariki nyumba ya Aroni,
13 He hath blessed all that fear the Lord, both little and great.
atawabariki wale wanaomcha Bwana, wadogo kwa wakubwa.
14 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your children.
Bwana na awawezeshe kuongezeka, ninyi na watoto wenu.
15 Blessed be you of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Mbarikiwe na Bwana Muumba wa mbingu na dunia.
16 The heaven of heaven is the Lord’s: but the earth he has given to the children of men.
Mbingu zilizo juu sana ni mali ya Bwana, lakini dunia amempa mwanadamu.
17 The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord: nor any of them that go down to hell. (questioned)
Sio wafu wanaomsifu Bwana, wale washukao mahali pa kimya,
18 But we that live bless the Lord: from this time now and for ever.
bali ni sisi tunaomtukuza Bwana, sasa na hata milele. Msifuni Bwana.
