Proverbs 1
1 The parables of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ରାଜା ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କ ହିତୋପଦେଶ;
2 To know wisdom, and instruction:
ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ଉପଦେଶ ବୁଝିବାକୁ; ଜ୍ଞାନଜନକ ବାକ୍ୟ ବିବେଚନା କରିବାକୁ;
3 To understand the words of prudence: and to receive the instruction of doctrine, justice, and judgment, and equity:
ସୁଆଚରଣ, ସାଧୁତା ଓ ସୁବିବେଚନା ଏବଂ ନ୍ୟାୟ ବିଷୟରେ ଉପଦେଶ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ;
4 To give subtilty to little ones, to the young man knowledge and understanding.
ସରଳ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସତର୍କତା ଓ ଯୁବା ଲୋକକୁ ବିଦ୍ୟା ଓ ପରିଣାମଦର୍ଶିତା ଦେବାକୁ;
5 A wise man shall hear and shall be wiser: and he that understandeth, shall possess governments.
ଯେପରି ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ଲୋକ (ତାହା) ଶୁଣି ପାଣ୍ଡିତ୍ୟରେ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇବ ଏବଂ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକ ହିତଜନକ ପରାମର୍ଶ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେବ;
6 He shall understand a parable, and the interpretation, the words of the wise, and their mysterious sayings.
ପୁଣି, ଏକ ଉପଦେଶ କଥା ଓ ଏକ ରୂପକ କଥା ଏବଂ ପଣ୍ଡିତମାନଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଗୂଢ଼ ବଚନ ବୁଝି ପାରିବ।
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟକ ଭୟ ଜ୍ଞାନର ଆରମ୍ଭ; ମାତ୍ର ନିର୍ବୋଧ ଲୋକେ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ ଉପଦେଶ ତୁଚ୍ଛବୋଧ କରନ୍ତି।
8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତାର ଉପଦେଶ ଶୁଣ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମାତାର ଆଦେଶ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କର ନାହିଁ।
9 That grace may be added to thy head, and a chain of gold to thy neck.
ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅନୁଗ୍ରହଜନକ ଶିରୋଭୂଷଣ ଓ ଗଳଦେଶର ହାର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ।
10 My son, if sinners shall entice thee, consent not to them.
ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ପାପୀଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଫୁସୁଲାଇଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମ୍ମତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
11 If they shall say: Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us hide snares for the innocent without cause:
ସେମାନେ ଯଦି କହନ୍ତି, “ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ହତ୍ୟା କରିବାକୁ ଛକି ବସୁ, ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦୋଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅକାରଣରେ ଧରିବାକୁ ଗୁପ୍ତରେ ଲୁଚି ରହୁ;
12 Let us swallow him up alive like hell, and whole as one that goeth down into the pit. (Sheol h7585)
ପାତାଳର ନ୍ୟାୟ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜୀଅନ୍ତା ଗ୍ରାସ କରୁ ଓ ଗର୍ତ୍ତପତିତ ଲୋକ ପରି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସର୍ବତୋଭାବେ ଗ୍ରାସ କରୁ; (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoils.
ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସର୍ବପ୍ରକାର ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଧନ ପାଇବା, ଲୁଟିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା,
14 Cast in thy lot with us, let us all have one purse.
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଂଶୀ ହେବ; ଆମ୍ଭ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ଏକ ତୋଡ଼ା ହେବ;”
15 My son, walk not thou with them, restrain thy foot from their paths.
ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ସେହି ପଥରେ ଚାଲ ନାହିଁ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଥରୁ ଆପଣା ପାଦ ଅଟକାଅ;
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
ଯେହେତୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଚରଣ କୁକ୍ରିୟା କରିବାକୁ ଦୌଡ଼େ ଓ ରକ୍ତପାତ କରିବାକୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଧାଇଁ ଯାଏ।
17 But a net is spread in vain before the eyes of them that have wings.
କୌଣସି ପକ୍ଷୀର ଆଖି ଆଗରେ ଜାଲ ପାତିବା ନିତାନ୍ତ ବ୍ୟର୍ଥ ହୁଏ।
18 And they themselves lie in wait for their own blood, and practise deceits against their own souls.
ସେମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜର ରକ୍ତପାତ କରିବାକୁ ଛକି ବସନ୍ତି ଓ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ (ଧରିବା ପାଇଁ) ଗୁପ୍ତରେ ଲୁଚି ରହନ୍ତି।
19 So the wage of every covetous man destroy the souls of the possessors.
ସମସ୍ତ ଧନଲୋଭୀର ଗତି ଏହି; ତାହା ଧନର ଅଧିକାରୀମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଣନାଶ କରେ।
20 Wisdom preacheth abroad, she uttereth her voice in the streets:
ଜ୍ଞାନ ରାସ୍ତାରେ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱରରେ ଡାକେ; ସେ ଛକ ସ୍ଥାନମାନଙ୍କରେ ଆପଣା ରବ ଶୁଣାଏ;
21 At the head of multitudes she crieth out, in the entrance of the gates of the city she uttereth her words, saying:
ସେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଧାନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଡାକେ; ନଗର ଦ୍ୱାରର ପ୍ରବେଶ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଓ ନଗର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣା ବାକ୍ୟ ଉଚ୍ଚାରଣ କରି କହେ;
22 O children, how long will you love childishness, and fools covet those things which are hurtful to themselves, and the unwise hate knowledge?
“ହେ ନିର୍ବୋଧ ଲୋକମାନେ, କେତେ କାଳ ମୂର୍ଖତାକୁ ଭଲ ପାଇବ? ହେ ନିନ୍ଦୁକମାନେ, ଆଉ କେତେ କାଳ ନିନ୍ଦାରେ ସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ଥିବ? ହେ ମୂର୍ଖମାନେ, ଆଉ କେତେ କାଳ ବିଦ୍ୟାକୁ ଘୃଣା କରିବ?
23 Turn ye at my reproof: behold I will utter my spirit to you, and will shew you my words.
ମୋʼ ଅନୁଯୋଗରେ ମନ ଫେରାଅ; ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଆପଣା ଆତ୍ମା ଢାଳି ଦେବି, ମୁଁ ଆପଣା ବାକ୍ୟସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇବି।
24 Because I called, and you refused: I stretched out my hand, and there was none that regarded.
ଯେହେତୁ ମୁଁ ଡାକିଲି, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନା କଲ; ମୁଁ ହସ୍ତ ବିସ୍ତାର କଲି, କେହି ମାନ୍ୟ କଲା ନାହିଁ;
25 You have despised all my counsel, and have neglected my reprehensions.
ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋହର ସମସ୍ତ ଉପଦେଶ ତୁଚ୍ଛଜ୍ଞାନ କଲ, ପୁଣି ମୋହର କୌଣସି ଅନୁଯୋଗକୁ ଚାହିଁଲ ନାହିଁ;
26 I also will laugh in your destruction, and will mock when that shall come to you which you feared.
ଏହେତୁ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିପଦ ବେଳେ ହସିବି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆଶଙ୍କା ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ସମୟରେ ମୁଁ ପରିହାସ କରିବି।
27 When sudden calamity shall fall on you, and destruction, as a tempest, shall be at hand: when tribulation and distress shall come upon you:
ଯେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ ଝଡ଼ ପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆଶଙ୍କା ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବ ଓ ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିବାୟୁ ପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବିପଦ ଆସିବ; ଯେତେବେଳେ କ୍ଳେଶ ଓ ବେଦନା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟିବ;
28 Then shall they call upon me, and I will not hear: they shall rise in the morning and shall not find me:
ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ମୋତେ ଡାକ ପକାଇବେ, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବି ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନେ ଅତି ଯତ୍ନରେ ମୋହର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବେ, ମାତ୍ର ମୋହର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ପାଇବେ ନାହିଁ।
29 Because they have hated instruction and received not the fear of the Lord,
କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ବିଦ୍ୟାକୁ ଘୃଣା କଲେ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟକ ଭୟ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ ନାହିଁ;
30 Nor consented to my counsel, but despised all my reproof.
ସେମାନେ ମୋହର କୌଣସି ଉପଦେଶ ଗ୍ରହଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ମୋହର ସମସ୍ତ ଅନୁଯୋଗ ହେୟ ଜ୍ଞାନ କଲେ।
31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and shall be filled with their own devices.
ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା କର୍ମର ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଭୋଗିବେ ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା କୁପରାମର୍ଶର ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଫଳ ଭୋଗ କରିବେ।
32 The turning away of little ones shall kill them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
ହଁ, ନିର୍ବୋଧମାନଙ୍କର ବିପଥଗମନ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିନାଶ କରିବ ଓ ଅଜ୍ଞାନମାନଙ୍କର ଆତ୍ମତୃପ୍ତି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କରିବ।
33 But he that shall hear me, shall rest without terror, and shall enjoy abundance, without fear of evils.
ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ମୋହର କଥା ଶୁଣେ, ସେ ନିରାପଦରେ ବାସ କରିବ ଓ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳର ଆଶଙ୍କା ବିନା ବିଶ୍ରାମ ପାଇବ।”
