< Proverbs 2 >
1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and wilt hide my commandments with thee,
Mwana wange, bw’onookwatanga ebigambo byange, n’otereka ebiragiro byange mu bulamu bwo,
2 That thy ear may hearken to wisdom: Incline thy heart to know prudence:
era n’ossaayo omwoyo eri amagezi, era n’ossa omutima gwo eri okutegeera,
3 For if thou shalt call for wisdom, and incline thy heart to prudence:
ddala ddala singa oyaayaanira okumanya era n’oyimusa eddoboozi lyo osabe okutegeera,
4 If thou shalt seek her as money, and shalt dig for her as for a treasure:
bw’onooganoonyanga nga ffeeza, era n’oganoonyanga ng’ekyobugagga ekyakwekebwa,
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and shalt find the knowledge of God.
awo w’olitegeerera okutya Mukama, era n’ovumbula okumanya Katonda.
6 Because the Lord giveth wisdom: and out of his mouth cometh prudence and knowledge.
Kubanga Mukama awa amagezi; era mu kamwa ke muvaamu okumanya n’okutegeera.
7 He will keep the salvation of the righteous, and protect them that walk in simplicity.
Mukama aterekera abatuukirivu amagezi amalungi, era aba ngabo y’abo abatambulira mu bugolokofu.
8 Keeping the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of saints.
Abatambuliza mu makubo ag’obwenkanya, era bw’atyo Mukama akuuma ekkubo ly’abatukuvu be.
9 Then shalt thou understand justice, and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
Olwo lw’olitegeera obutuukirivu, amazima n’obwenkanya; weewaawo buli kkubo eddungi.
10 If wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge please thy soul:
Kubanga amagezi galiyingira mu mutima gwo, n’okumanya kulisanyusa omwoyo gwo.
11 Counsel shall keep thee, and prudence shall preserve thee,
Okwesalirawo obulungi kunaakulabiriranga n’okutegeera kunaakukuumanga:
12 That thou mayst be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh perverse things:
Amagezi ganaakuwonyanga ekkubo ly’omubi, n’abantu aboogera eby’obugwagwa,
13 Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways:
abaleka amakubo ag’obutuukirivu ne batambulira mu makubo ag’ekizikiza,
14 Who are glad when they have done evil, and rejoice in most wicked things:
abasanyukira okukola ebikolwa ebibi, abanyumirwa eby’obusirusiru,
15 Whose ways are perverse, and their steps infamous.
abantu abo be b’amakubo amakyamu, era abakujjukujju mu ngeri zaabwe.
16 That thou mayst be delivered from the strange women, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words:
Amagezi Mukama g’awa ge gokka agajja okukuwonya ekkubo ly’omukazi omwenzi, n’okukuwonya ebigambo bye ebisendasenda,
17 And forsaketh the guide of her youth,
eyaleka bba ow’omu buvubuka bwe era eyeerabira endagaano gye yakola mu maaso ga Katonda we.
18 And hath forgotten the covenant of her God: for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths to hell. ()
Kubanga ennyumba ye ekka mu kufa, n’amakubo ge galaga eri abafu.
19 None that go in unto her shall return again, neither shall they take hold of the paths of life,
Tewali n’omu agenda ewuwe adda wadde okufunirayo amakubo g’obulamu.
20 That thou mayst walk in a good way: and mayst keep the paths of the just.
Kale tambuliranga mu kkubo ly’abo abatya Katonda era onywerere mu makubo g’abatuukirivu.
21 For they that are upright shall dwell in the earth, and the simple shall continue in it.
Kubanga abatuukirivu balituula mu nsi, era abo abagolokofu baligisigalamu.
22 But the wicked shall be destroyed from the earth: and they that do unjustly shall be taken away from it.
Naye abakozi b’ebibi balifiirwa ebirungi eby’ensi, n’abatali beesigwa balizikirizibwa.
