Numbers 1

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai in the tabernacle of the covenant, the first day of the second month, the second year of their going out of Egypt, saying:

१इस्राएलियों के मिस्र देश से निकल जाने के दूसरे वर्ष के दूसरे महीने के पहले दिन को, यहोवा ने सीनै के जंगल में मिलापवाले तम्बू में, मूसा से कहा,

2 Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel by their families, and houses, and the names of every one, as many as are of the male sex,

२“इस्राएलियों की सारी मण्डली के कुलों और पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार, एक-एक पुरुष की गिनती नाम ले लेकर करना।

3 From twenty years old and upwards, of all the men of Israel fit for war, and you shall number them by their troops, thou and Aaron.

३जितने इस्राएली बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के हों, और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य हों, उन सभी को उनके दलों के अनुसार तू और हारून गिन ले।

4 And there shall be with you the princes of the tribes, and of the houses in their kindreds,

४और तुम्हारे साथ प्रत्येक गोत्र का एक पुरुष भी हो जो अपने पितरों के घराने का मुख्य पुरुष हो।

5 Whose names are these: Of Ruben, Elisur the son of Sedeur.

५तुम्हारे उन साथियों के नाम ये हैं: रूबेन के गोत्र में से शदेऊर का पुत्र एलीसूर;

6 Of Simeon, Salamiel the son of Surisaddai.

६शिमोन के गोत्र में से सूरीशद्दै का पुत्र शलूमीएल;

7 Of Juda, Nahasson the son of Aminadab.

७यहूदा के गोत्र में से अम्मीनादाब का पुत्र नहशोन;

8 Of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Suar.

८इस्साकार के गोत्र में से सूआर का पुत्र नतनेल;

9 Of Zabulon, Eliab the son of Helon.

९जबूलून के गोत्र में से हेलोन का पुत्र एलीआब;

10 And of the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elisama the son of Ammiud: of Manasses, Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

१०यूसुफ वंशियों में से ये हैं, अर्थात् एप्रैम के गोत्र में से अम्मीहूद का पुत्र एलीशामा, और मनश्शे के गोत्र में से पदासूर का पुत्र गम्लीएल;

11 Of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gedeon.

११बिन्यामीन के गोत्र में से गिदोनी का पुत्र अबीदान;

12 Of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammisaddai.

१२दान के गोत्र में से अम्मीशद्दै का पुत्र अहीएजेर;

13 Of Aser, Phegiel the son of Ochran.

१३आशेर के गोत्र में से ओक्रान का पुत्र पगीएल;

14 Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Duel.

१४गाद के गोत्र में से दूएल का पुत्र एल्यासाप;

15 Of Nephtali, Ahira the son of Enan.

१५नप्ताली के गोत्र में से एनान का पुत्र अहीरा।”

16 These are the most noble princes of the multitude by their tribes and kindreds, and the chiefs of the army of Israel:

१६मण्डली में से जो पुरुष अपने-अपने पितरों के गोत्रों के प्रधान होकर बुलाए गए, वे ये ही हैं, और ये इस्राएलियों के हजारों में मुख्य पुरुष थे।

17 Whom Moses and Aaron took with all the multitude of the common people:

१७जिन पुरुषों के नाम ऊपर लिखे हैं उनको साथ लेकर मूसा और हारून ने,

18 And assembled them on the first day of the second month, reckoning them up by the kindreds, and houses, and families, and heads, and names of every one from twenty years old and upward,

१८दूसरे महीने के पहले दिन सारी मण्डली इकट्ठी की, तब इस्राएलियों ने अपने-अपने कुल और अपने-अपने पितरों के घराने के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु वालों के नामों की गिनती करवाकर अपनी-अपनी वंशावली लिखवाई;

19 As the Lord had commanded Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.

१९जिस प्रकार यहोवा ने मूसा को आज्ञा दी थी उसी के अनुसार उसने सीनै के जंगल में उनकी गणना की।

20 Of Ruben the eldest son of Israel, by their generations and families and houses and names of every head, all that were of the male sex, from twenty years old and upward, that were able to go forth to war,

२०और इस्राएल के पहलौठे रूबेन के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुल और अपने पितरों के घराने के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

21 Were forty-six thousand five hundred.

२१और रूबेन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े छियालीस हजार थे।

22 Of the sons of Simeon by their generations and families, and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names and heads of every one, all that were of the male sex, from twenty years old and upward, that were able to go forth to war,

२२शिमोन के वंश के लोग जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे, और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए।

23 Fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

२३और शिमोन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष उनसठ हजार तीन सौ थे।

24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

२४गाद के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

25 Forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

२५और गाद के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष पैंतालीस हजार साढ़े छः सौ थे।

26 Of the sons of Juda, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

२६यहूदा के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

27 Were reckoned up seventy-four thousand six hundred.

२७और यहूदा के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष चौहत्तर हजार छः सौ थे।

28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that could go forth to war,

२८इस्साकार के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

29 Were reckoned up fifty-four thousand four hundred.

२९और इस्साकार के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष चौवन हजार चार सौ थे।

30 Of the sons of Zabulon, by the generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

३०जबूलून के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

31 Fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

३१और जबूलून के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष सत्तावन हजार चार सौ थे।

32 Of the sons of Joseph, namely, of the sons of Ephraim, by the generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

३२यूसुफ के वंश में से एप्रैम के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

33 Forty thousand five hundred.

३३और एप्रैम गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े चालीस हजार थे।

34 Moreover of the sons of Manasses, by the generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that could go forth to war,

३४मनश्शे के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

35 Thirty-two thousand two hundred.

३५और मनश्शे के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष बत्तीस हजार दो सौ थे।

36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

३६बिन्यामीन के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

37 Thirty-five thousand four hundred.

३७और बिन्यामीन के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष पैंतीस हजार चार सौ थे।

38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

३८दान के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

39 Sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

३९और दान के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष बासठ हजार सात सौ थे।

40 Of the sons of Aser, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

४०आशेर के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

41 Forty-one thousand and five hundred.

४१और आशेर के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष साढ़े इकतालीस हजार थे।

42 Of the sons of Nephtali, by their generations and families and houses of their kindreds, were reckoned up by the names of every one from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war,

४२नप्ताली के वंश के जितने पुरुष अपने कुलों और अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के थे और जो युद्ध करने के योग्य थे, वे सब अपने-अपने नाम से गिने गए:

43 Fifty-three thousand four hundred.

४३और नप्ताली के गोत्र के गिने हुए पुरुष तिरपन हजार चार सौ थे।

44 These era they who were numbered by Moses and Aaron, and the twelve princes of Israel, every one by the houses of their kindreds.

४४इस प्रकार मूसा और हारून और इस्राएल के बारह प्रधानों ने, जो अपने-अपने पितरों के घराने के प्रधान थे, उन सभी को गिन लिया और उनकी गिनती यही थी।

45 And the whole number of the children of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years old and upward, that were able to go to war,

४५अतः जितने इस्राएली बीस वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के होने के कारण युद्ध करने के योग्य थे वे अपने पितरों के घरानों के अनुसार गिने गए,

46 Were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty men.

४६और वे सब गिने हुए पुरुष मिलाकर छः लाख तीन हजार साढ़े पाँच सौ थे।

47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.

४७इनमें लेवीय अपने पितरों के गोत्र के अनुसार नहीं गिने गए।

48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

४८क्योंकि यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा था,

49 Number not the tribe of Levi, neither shalt thou put down the sum of them with the children of Israel:

४९“लेवीय गोत्र की गिनती इस्राएलियों के संग न करना;

50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all the vessels thereof, and whatsoever pertaineth to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all the furniture thereof: and they shall minister, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

५०परन्तु तू लेवियों को साक्षी के तम्बू पर, और उसके सम्पूर्ण सामान पर, अर्थात् जो कुछ उससे सम्बंध रखता है उस पर अधिकारी नियुक्त करना; और सम्पूर्ण सामान सहित निवास को वे ही उठाया करें, और वे ही उसमें सेवा टहल भी किया करें, और तम्बू के आस-पास वे ही अपने डेरे डाला करें।

51 When you are to go forward, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle: when you are to camp, they shall set it up. What stranger soever cometh to it, shall be slain.

५१और जब जब निवास को आगे ले जाना हो तब-तब लेवीय उसको गिरा दें, और जब जब निवास को खड़ा करना हो तब-तब लेवीय उसको खड़ा किया करें; और यदि कोई दूसरा समीप आए तो वह मार डाला जाए।

52 And the children of Israel shall camp every man by his troops and bands and army.

५२और इस्राएली अपना-अपना डेरा अपनी-अपनी छावनी में और अपने-अपने झण्डे के पास खड़ा किया करें;

53 But the Levites shall pitch their tents round about the tabernacle, lest there come indignation upon the multitude of the children of Israel, and they shall keep watch, and guard the tabernacle of the testimony.

५३पर लेवीय अपने डेरे साक्षी के तम्बू ही के चारों ओर खड़े किया करें, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि इस्राएलियों की मण्डली पर मेरा कोप भड़के; और लेवीय साक्षी के तम्बू की रक्षा किया करें।”

54 And the children of Israel did according to all things which the Lord had commanded Moses.

५४जो आज्ञाएँ यहोवा ने मूसा को दी थीं, इस्राएलियों ने उन्हीं के अनुसार किया।
