Micah 4
1 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be prepared in the top of mountains, and high above the hills: and people shall flow to it.
II arrivera à la fin des temps que la montagne de la maison du Seigneur sera affermie sur la cime des montagnes et se dressera au-dessus des collines, et toutes les nations y afflueront.
2 And many nations shall come in haste, and say: Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob: and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth out of Sion, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem.
Et nombre de peuples iront en disant: "Or ça, gravissons la montagne de l’Eternel pour gagner la maison du Dieu de Jacob, afin qu’il nous enseigne ses voies et que nous puissions suivre ses sentiers, car c’est de Sion que sort la doctrine et de Jérusalem la parole du Seigneur."
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off: and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into spades: nation shall not take sword against nation: neither shall they learn war any more.
Il sera un arbitre parmi les nations et le précepteur de peuples puissants, s’étendant au loin; ceux-ci alors de leurs glaives forgeront des socs de charrue et de leurs lances des serpettes; un peuple ne tirera plus l’épée contre un autre peuple, et l’on n’apprendra plus l’art de la guerre.
4 And every man shall sit under his vine, and under his fig tree, and there shall be none to make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken.
Et chacun demeurera sous sa vigne et sous son figuier, sans que personne vienne l’inquiéter, car c’est la bouche de l’Eternel-Cebaot qui le déclare.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god: but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.
En attendant, que les autres peuples marchent chacun au nom de son dieu, nous, nous marcherons au nom de l’Eternel, notre Dieu, toujours et toujours!
6 In that day, saith the Lord, I will gather up her that halteth: and her that I had cast out, I will gather up: and her whom I had afflicted.
En ce jour, dit l’Eternel, je recueillerai les brebis boiteuses, je rassemblerai celles qui étaient pourchassées et celles que j’avais traitées avec rigueur.
7 And I will make her that halted, a remnant: and her that hath been afflicted, a mighty nation: and the Lord will reign over them in mount Sion, from this time now and for ever.
J’Établirai celles qui étaient boiteuses comme un reste durable et celles qui étaient repoussées au loin comme un peuple puissant, et l’Eternel règnera sur elles dans la montagne de Sion, dès lors et à jamais.
8 And thou, O cloudy tower of the flock, of the daughter of Sion, unto thee shall it come: yea the first power shall come, the kingdom to the daughter of Jerusalem.
Et toi, tour d’observation des troupeaux, colline fortifiée de la fille de Sion, à toi reviendra et aboutira la domination primitive, la royauté de la fille de Jérusalem.
9 Now, why art thou drawn together with grief? Hast thou no king in thee, or is thy counsellor perished, because sorrow hath taken thee as a woman in labour?
Pourquoi maintenant pousses-tu ces cris? N’Y a-t-il point de roi dans ton sein? Ton guide a-t-il péri, que l’angoisse t’étreigne comme une femme qui enfante?
10 Be in pain and labour, O daughter of Sion, as a woman that bringeth forth: for now shalt thou go out of the city, and shalt dwell in the country, and shalt come even to Babylon, there thou shalt be delivered: there the Lord will redeem thee out of the hand of thy enemies.
Tords-toi et gémis, fille de Sion, comme une femme dans les douleurs, car l’heure est venue pour toi d’abandonner la cité, de camper en plein champ et d’aller jusqu’à Babylone. Là t’attend le salut, là l’Eternel te libérera de la main de tes ennemis.
11 And now many nations are gathered together against thee, and they say: Let her be stoned: and let our eye look upon Sion.
Et alors se rassembleront contre toi des peuples nombreux, disant: "Elle est déshonorée! Que nos yeux se repaissent de la vue de Sion!"
12 But they have not known the thoughts of the Lord, and have not understood his counsel: because he hath gathered them together as the hay of the floor.
Or, ils ne connaissent point les pensées de l’Eternel, ils ne comprennent point son dessein, qui est de les réunir comme les gerbes dans l’aire.
13 Arise, and tread, O daughter of Sion: for I will make thy horn iron, and thy hoofs I will make brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many peoples, and shalt immolate the spoils of them to the Lord, and their strength to the Lord of the whole earth.
Debout et foule les, fille de Sion! Car je te donnerai des cornes de fer et des sabots d’airain, pour que tu puisses broyer de nombreuses nations et dévouer leurs rapines à l’Eternel, leurs richesses au Maître de toute la terre.
