Luke 10
1 And after these things the Lord appointed also other seventy-two: and he sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself was to come.
೧ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬಿಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ತಾನು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಊರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೂ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
2 And he said to them: The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send labourers into his harvest.
೨ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಬೆಳೆಯು ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿದೆ, ಕೊಯ್ಲುಗಾರರು ಕೆಲವರೂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ; ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಕೊಯ್ಲಿಗೆ ಆಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೆಳೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
3 Go: Behold I send you as lambs among wolves.
೩ಹೋಗಿರಿ, ತೋಳಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳಂತೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes; and salute no man by the way.
೪ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನೀವು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಹಣದ ಚೀಲವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರವಾಸದ ಚೀಲವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಕೆರಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ. ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ವಂದಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ.
5 Into whatsoever house you enter, first say: Peace be to this house.
೫ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಯಾವ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋದರೂ, ‘ಈ ಮನೆಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಲಿ’ ಎಂದು ಮೊದಲು ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you.
೬ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೊಂದಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯನು ಆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಧಾನವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದು, ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುವುದು.
7 And in the same house, remain, eating and drinking such things as they have: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Remove not from house to house.
೭ಆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರು ಕೊಡುವಂಥದನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಕುಡಿಯಿರಿ. ಆಳು ತನ್ನ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಷ್ಟೆ. ಒಂದು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ.
8 And into what city soever you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.
೮ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ಯಾವ ಊರಿಗಾದರೂ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಊರಿನ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಊಟಮಾಡಿರಿ.
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say to them: The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
೯ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
10 But into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you not, going forth into the streets thereof, say:
೧೦ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಯಾವ ಊರಿಗಾದರೂ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀವು ಆ ಊರ ಬೀದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು,
11 Even the very dust of your city that cleaveth to us, we wipe off against you. Yet know this, that the kingdom of God is at hand.
೧೧‘ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂಟಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಝಾಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀವು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಡಿ’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
12 I say to you, it shall be more tolerable at that day for Sodom, than for that city.
೧೨ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ಊರಿನ ಗತಿಯು ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಊರಿನ ಗತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
13 Woe to thee, Corozain, woe to thee, Bethsaida. For if in Tyre and Sidon had been wrought the mighty works that have been wrought in you, they would have done penance long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
೧೩ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಖೊರಾಜಿನೇ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದವೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ತೂರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀದೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರು ಆಗಲೇ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು, ಬೂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgement, than for you.
೧೪ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ತೂರ್ ಸೀದೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಗತಿಯು ಮೇಲಾಗಿರುವುದು.
15 And thou, Capharnaum, which art exalted unto heaven, thou shalt be thrust down to hell. (Hadēs g86)
೧೫ಎಲೈ ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮೇ, ನೀನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವಿಯಾ? ಇಲ್ಲ! ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೇ ಇಳಿಯುವಿ. (Hadēs g86)
16 He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.
೧೬ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನನ್ನೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
17 And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: Lord, the devils also are subject to us in thy name.
೧೭ತರುವಾಯ ಆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯು ಸಂತೋಷವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ದೆವ್ವಗಳು ಕೂಡಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ” ಅಂದರು.
18 And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightening falling from heaven.
೧೮ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಸೈತಾನನು ಮಿಂಚಿನಂತೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು.
19 Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you.
೧೯ನೋಡಿರಿ, ಹಾವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಚೇಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವೈರಿಯ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಬಲವನ್ನೂ ತುಳಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯಾವುದೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
20 But yet rejoice not in this, that spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.
೨೦ಆದರೂ ದೆವ್ವಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
21 In that same hour, he rejoiced in the Holy Ghost, and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to little ones. Yea, Father, for so it hath seemed good in thy sight.
೨೧ಅದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನನಿಂದ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಗೊಂಡು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಪರಲೋಕ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಲೋಕಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಮಾಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಹೌದು, ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ತೋರಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
22 All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and to whom the Son will reveal him.
೨೨ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಮಗನು ಎಂಥವನೆಂದು ತಂದೆಯ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತಾರೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ತಂದೆ ಎಂಥವನೆಂದು ಮಗನ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾರು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೋ, ಅವನೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
23 And turning to his disciples, he said: Blessed are the eyes that see the things which you see.
೨೩ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುವವರು ಧನ್ಯರು.
24 For I say to you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them; and to hear the things that you hear, and have not heard them.
೨೪ಬಹು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಅರಸರೂ ನೀವು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀವು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೂ ಕೇಳಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
25 And behold a certain lawyer stood up, tempting him, and saying, Master, what must I do to possess eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
೨೫ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನು ಎದ್ದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, “ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, (aiōnios g166)
26 But he said to him: What is written in the law? how readest thou?
೨೬ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಬರೆದದೆ? ಹೇಗೆ ಓದಿದ್ದೀ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
27 He answering, said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbour as thyself.
೨೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “‘ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ಣಹೃದಯದಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ಣಪ್ರಾಣದಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ಣಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಬೇಕು.’ ಮತ್ತು ‘ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಂತೆಯೇ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಬರೆದದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
28 And he said to him: Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
೨೮ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವಿ, ಅದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡು, ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
29 But he willing to justify himself, said to Jesus: And who is my neighbour?
೨೯ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, “ನನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು,
30 And Jesus answering, said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who also stripped him, and having wounded him went away, leaving him half dead.
೩೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಒಬ್ಬಾನೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಯೆರಿಕೋ ಎಂಬ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಕಳ್ಳರ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದನು. ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಹೊಡೆದು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರೆಜೀವಮಾಡಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದರು.
31 And it chanced, that a certain priest went down the same way: and seeing him, passed by.
೩೧ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಾಜಕನು ಆ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತಾ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಓರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
32 In like manner also a Levite, when he was near the place and saw him, passed by.
೩೨ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಲೇವಿಯು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಓರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
33 But a certain Samaritan being on his journey, came near him; and seeing him, was moved with compassion.
೩೩ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಅವನು ಬಿದಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕನಿಕರಿಸಿ,
34 And going up to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine: and setting him upon his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
೩೪ಅವನ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಗಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಯ್ದು ಗಾಯವನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ವಾಹನ ಪಶುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಛತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಆರೈಕೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
35 And the next day he took out two pence, and gave to the host, and said: Take care of him; and whatsoever thou shalt spend over and above, I, at my return, will repay thee.
೩೫ಮರುದಿನ ಅವನು ಎರಡು ದಿನಾರಿಗಳನ್ನುತೆಗೆದು ಛತ್ರದವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ‘ಇವನನ್ನು ಆರೈಕೆಮಾಡು, ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ವೆಚ್ಚಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಾನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು’ ಅಂದನು.
36 Which of these three, in thy opinion, was neighbour to him that fell among the robbers?
೩೬ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನು ಕಳ್ಳರ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದವನಿಗೆ ನೆರೆಯವನಾದನೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ತೋರುತ್ತದೆ ಹೇಳು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ,
37 But he said: He that shewed mercy to him. And Jesus said to him: Go, and do thou in like manner.
೩೭ಆ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನು, “ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದವನೇ” ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗು, ನೀನೂ ಅದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
38 Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain town: and a certain woman named Martha, received him into her house.
೩೮ಅವರು ಸಂಚಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನು ಒಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಥಳೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಆತನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಳು.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sitting also at the Lord’s feet, heard his word.
೩೯ಆಕೆಗೆ ಮರಿಯಳೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ತಂಗಿ ಇದ್ದಳು. ಈಕೆಯು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಪಾದಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
40 But Martha was busy about much serving. Who stood and said: Lord, hast thou no care that my sister hath left me alone to serve? speak to her therefore, that she help me.
೪೦ಆದರೆ ಮಾರ್ಥಳು ಉಪಚಾರ ಸೇವೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬಹಳ ಬೇಸತ್ತು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನನ್ನ ತಂಗಿಯು ಸೇವೆಗೆ ನನ್ನೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾಳೆ, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನನಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಹೇಳು” ಅಂದಳು.
41 And the Lord answering, said to her: Martha, Martha, thou art careful, and art troubled about many things:
೪೧ಆದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಮಾರ್ಥಳೇ, ಮಾರ್ಥಳೇ, ನೀನು ಅನೇಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಡಿಬಿಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ.
42 But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.
೪೨ಆದರೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಒಂದೇ, ಮರಿಯಳು ಆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ, ಅದು ಆಕೆಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
