Joshua 21
1 Then the princes of the families of Levi came to Eleazar the priest, and to Josue the son of Nun, and to the princes of the kindreds of all the tribes of the children of Israel:

2 And they spoke to them in Silo in the land of Chanaan, and said: The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given us to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed our cattle.
huko Shilo katika Kanaani na kuwaambia, “Bwana aliamuru kupitia Mose kuwa mtupe miji ya kuishi yenye sehemu za malisho kwa mifugo yetu.”
3 And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.
Hivyo kama vile Bwana alivyoamuru, Waisraeli wakawapa Walawi miji ifuatayo pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho kutoka urithi wao wenyewe.
4 And the lot came out for the family of Caath of the children of Aaron the priest out of the tribes of Juda, and of Simeon, and of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
Kura ya kwanza ikaangukia Wakohathi, ukoo kwa ukoo. Walawi waliokuwa wazao wa kuhani Aroni walipewa miji kumi na mitatu kutoka makabila ya Yuda, Simeoni na Benyamini.
5 And to the rest of the children of Caath, that is, to the Levites, who remained, out of the tribes of Ephraim, and of Dan, and the half tribe of Manasses, ten cities.
Wazao wengine waliobaki wa Wakohathi walipewa miji kumi kutoka koo za makabila ya Efraimu, Dani na nusu ya Manase.
6 And the lot came out to the children of Gerson, that they should take of the tribes of Issachar and of Aser and of Nephtali, and of the half tribe of Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.
Wazao wa Gershoni walipewa miji kumi na mitatu kutoka koo za makabila ya Isakari, Asheri, Naftali na nusu ya Manase huko Bashani.
7 And to the sons of Merari by their kindreds, of the tribes of Ruben and or Cad and of Zabulon, twelve cities.
Wazao wa Merari, ukoo kwa ukoo, walipewa miji kumi na miwili kutoka makabila ya Reubeni, Gadi na Zabuloni.
8 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, giving to every one by lot.
Kwa hiyo Waisraeli wakawapa Walawi miji hii pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, kama vile Bwana alivyokuwa ameamuru kupitia kwa Mose.
9 Of the tribes of the children of Juda and of Simeon Josue gave cities: whose names are these,
Kutoka makabila ya Yuda na Simeoni waligawa miji ifuatayo kwa majina
10 To the sons of Aaron, of the families of Caath of the race of Levi (for the first lot came out for them)
(miji hii walipewa wazao wa Aroni ambao walitokana na koo za Wakohathi wa Walawi, kwa sababu kura ya kwanza iliwaangukia):
11 The city of Arbe the father of Enac, which is called Hebron, in the mountain of Juda, and the suburbs thereof round about.
Waliwapa Kiriath-Arba (yaani Hebroni), pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho zilizoizunguka, katika nchi ya vilima ya Yuda. (Arba alikuwa baba wa Anaki.)
12 But the fields and the villages thereof he had given to Caleb the son of Jephone for his possession.
Lakini mashamba na vijiji vilivyozunguka mji mkubwa walikuwa wamempa Kalebu mwana wa Yefune kuwa milki yake.
13 He gave therefore to the children of Aaron the priest, Hebron a city of refuge, and the suburbs thereof: and Lobna with the suburbs thereof,
Kwa hiyo wazao wa kuhani Aroni wakapewa Hebroni (mji mkuu wa makimbilio kwa ajili ya yeyote aliyeshtakiwa kwa mauaji), Libna,
14 And Jether and Estemo,
Yatiri, Eshtemoa,
15 And Holon, and Dabir,
Holoni, Debiri,
16 And Ain, and Jeta, and Bethsames, with their suburbs: nine cities out of the two tribes, as hath been said.
Aini, Yuta na Beth-Shemeshi, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji tisa kutoka kwa makabila haya mawili.
17 And out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, Gabaon, and Gabae,

18 And Anathoth and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.
Anathothi na Almoni, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne.
19 All the cities together of the children of Aaron the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
Miji yote waliyopewa makuhani, wazao wa Aroni, ilikuwa kumi na mitatu, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho.
20 And to the rest of the families of the children of Caath of the race of Levi was given this possession.
Koo nyingine za Wakohathi, ambao pia ni Walawi, walipewa miji kutoka kabila la Efraimu:
21 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Sichem one of the cities of refuge, with the suburbs thereof in mount Ephraim, and Cater,
Katika nchi ya vilima ya Efraimu walipewa Shekemu (mji mkubwa wa makimbilio kwa yeyote anayeshtakiwa kwa mauaji) na Gezeri,
22 And Cibsaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities.
Kibsaimu na Beth-Horoni, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne.
23 And of the tribe of Dan, Eltheco and Gabathon,
Pia kutoka kabila la Dani wakapokea Elteke, Gibethoni,
24 And Aialon and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, four cities.
Aiyaloni na Gath-Rimoni pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne
25 And of the half tribe of Manasses, Thanac and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, two cities.
Kutoka nusu ya kabila la Manase, wakapokea Taanaki na Gath-Rimoni pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji miwili.
26 All the cities were ten, with their suburbs, which were given to the children of Caath, of the inferior degree.
Miji yote hii kumi pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho ilipewa koo za Wakohathi zilizobaki.
27 To the children of Gerson also of the race of Levi out of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon in Basan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities.
Koo za Walawi za Wagershoni walipewa: kutoka nusu ya kabila la Manase, Golani katika Bashani (mji mkuu wa makimbilio kwa yeyote aliyeshtakiwa kwa mauaji) na Beeshtera, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji miwili;
28 And of the tribe of Issachar, Cesion, and Dabereth,

29 And Jaramoth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities.
Yarmuthi na En-Ganimu, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne
30 And of the tribe of Aser, Masal and Abdon,
kutoka kabila la Asheri walipewa, Mishali, Abdoni,
31 And Helcath, and Rohob, with their suburbs, four cities.
Helkathi na Rehobu, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne.
32 Of the tribe also of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge: and Hammoth Dor, and Carthan, with their suburbs, three cities.
Kutoka kabila la Naftali walipewa, Kedeshi katika Galilaya (mji wa makimbilio kwa ajili ya yeyote anayeshtakiwa kwa mauaji), Hamoth-Dori na Kartani, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji mitano.
33 All the cities of the families of Gerson, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
Miji yote ya koo za Wagershoni ilikuwa kumi na mitatu, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho.
34 And to the children of Merari, Levites of the inferior degree, by their families were given of the tribe of Zabulon, Jecnam and Cartha,
Koo za Wamerari (Walawi waliobaki) walipewa: kutoka kabila la Zabuloni, Yokneamu, Karta,
35 And Damna and Naalol, four cities with their suburbs;
Dimna na Nahalali, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne;
36 Of the tribe of Ruben beyond the Jordan over against Jericho, Bosor in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Miser and Jaser and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs.
kutoka kabila la Reubeni walipewa Bezeri, Yahasa,
37 Of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad, one of the cities of refuge, and Manaim and Hesebon and Jaser, four cities with their suburbs.
Kedemothi na Mefaathi, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne;
kutoka kabila la Gadi walipewa, Ramothi katika Gileadi (mji wa makimbilio kwa ajili ya yeyote anayeshtakiwa kwa ajili ya mauaji), Mahanaimu,
Heshboni na Yazeri, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho, ilikuwa miji minne.
40 All the cities of the children of Merari by their families and kindreds, were twelve.
Miji yote waliyopewa koo za Wamerari, waliokuwa mabaki ya Walawi, ilikuwa ni kumi na miwili.
41 So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight,
Miji yote ya Walawi katika eneo lililoshikwa na Waisraeli lilikuwa arobaini na minane, pamoja na sehemu zake za malisho.
42 With their suburbs, each distributed by the families.
Kila mmoja wa miji hii ulikuwa na sehemu ya malisho kuuzunguka; ndivyo ilivyokuwa kwa miji hii yote.
43 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn to give to their fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.
Kwa hiyo Bwana akawapa Israeli nchi yote aliyokuwa ameapa kuwapa baba zao, nao wakaimiliki na kukaa humo.
44 And he gave them peace from all nations round about: and none of their enemies durst stand against them, but were brought under their dominion.
Bwana akawapa pumziko kila upande, kama vile alivyokuwa amewaapia baba zao, hakuna hata mmoja wa adui zao aliyeweza kusimama mbele yao, Bwana akawatia adui zao wote mikononi mwao.
45 Not so much as one word, which he had promised to perform unto them, was made void, but all came to pass.
Hakuna hata mojawapo ya ahadi nzuri ya Bwana kwa nyumba ya Israeli ambayo haikutimia; kila moja ilitimia.
