Joshua 18
1 And all the children of Israel assembled together in Silo, and there they set up the tabernacle of the testimony, and the land was subdued before them.
Die ganze israelitische Gemeinde versammelte sich nun zu Silo. Und dort stellten sie das Festgezelt auf. Das Land aber lag unterworfen vor ihnen.
2 But there remained seven tribes of the children of Israel, which as yet had not received their possessions.
Unter den Israeliten waren aber noch sieben Stämme übrig, die noch keinen Erbbesitz erhalten hatten.
3 And Josue said to them: How long are you indolent and slack, and go not in to possess the land which the Lord the God of your fathers hath given you?
Da sprach Josue zu den Israeliten: "Wie lange zögert ihr noch, hinzugehen und das Land zu besetzen, das euch der Herr, eurer Väter Gott, gegeben?
4 Choose of every tribe three men, that I may send them, and they may go and compass the land, and mark it out according to the number of each multitude: and bring back to me what they have marked out.
Bringet drei Männer aus jedem Stamm, so sende ich sie aus, und sie sollen sich aufmachen, das Land durchziehen und es aufschreiben nach der Größe ihres Besitzes! Dann sollen sie zu mir kommen!
5 Divide to yourselves the land into seven parts: let Juda be in his bounds on the south side, and the house of Joseph on the north.
Hierauf sollen sie es in sieben Teile teilen! Juda behält sein Gebiet im Süden, das Josephshaus im Norden.
6 The land in the midst between these mark ye out into seven parts; and you shall come hither to me, that I may cast lots for you before the Lord your God.
Ihr aber zeichnet das Land in sieben Teilen auf und berichtet mir hierher! Dann werfe ich hier vor dem Herrn, unserem Gott, das Los für euch.
7 For the Levites have no part among you, but the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance. And Gad and Ruben, and the half tribe of Manasses have already received their possessions beyond the Jordan eastward: which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.
Denn die Leviten haben kein Teil bei euch; vielmehr ist des Herrn Priestertum ihr Erbe. Gad aber und Ruben sowie der Halbstamm Manasse haben jenseits, östlich des Jordan ihren Erbbesitz erhalten, den ihnen des Herrn Diener, Moses, angewiesen hat."
8 And when the men were risen up, to go to mark out the land, Josue commanded them, saying: Go round the land and mark it out, and return to me: that I may cast lots for you before the Lord in Silo.
Da machten sich die Männer auf und gingen. Die Ausziehenden hieß Josue das Land aufzeichnen, indem er sprach: "Geht hin! Durchzieht das Land! Zeichnet es auf! Dann kommt wieder zu mir! Ich werfe dann hier vor dem Herrn zu Silo für euch das Los!"
9 So they went: and surveying it divided it into seven parts, writing them down in a book. And they returned to Josue, to the camp in Silo.
Da gingen die Männer, durchzogen das Land und zeichneten es Stadt für Stadt in sieben Teilen in ein Buch. Dann kamen sie zu Josue in das Lager nach Silo.
10 And he cast lots before the Lord in Silo, and divided the land to the children of Israel into seven parts.
Da warf Josue zu Silo vor dem Herrn für sie das Los. So verteilte Josue dort den Israeliten das Land nach ihren Abteilungen.
11 And first came up the lot of the children of Benjamin by their families, to possess the land between the children of Juda, and the children of Joseph.
Da kam das Los des Stammes der Benjaminsöhne für seine Sippen heraus. Das Gebiet ihres Loses lag zwischen den Judäern und den Josephsöhnen.
12 And their border northward was from the Jordan: going along by the side of Jericho on the north side, and thence going up westward to the mountains, and reaching to the wilderness of Bethaven,
Ihre Grenze ging nördlich vom Jordan aus. Dann zog sich die Grenze aufwärts zu dem Bergrücken nördlich von Jericho und weiter hinauf auf das Gebirge nach Westen zu und lief nach der Steppe von Bet Awen aus.
13 And passing along southward by Luza, the same is Bethel: and it goeth down into Ataroth-addar to the mountain, that is on the south of the nether Beth-horon.
Von da ging die Grenze nach Luz hinüber, auf die Südseite des Bergrückens von Luz, das ist Betel. Dann stieg die Grenze nach Aterot Addar hinab, dann auf den Berg südlich vom unteren Bet Choron.
14 And it bendeth thence going round towards the sea, south of the mountain that looketh towards Beth-horon to the southwest: and the outgoings thereof are into Cariathbaal, which is called also Cariathiarim, a city of the children of Juda. This is their coast towards the sea, westward.
Dann bog die Grenze um und wandte sich auf ihrer Westseite nach Süden, von dem Berg aus, der südlich von Bet Choron liegt, und endete bei Kirjat Baal, das ist die judäische Stadt Kirjat Jearim. Das ist die Westseite.
15 But on the south side the border goeth out from part of Cariathiarim towards the sea, and cometh to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoa.
Die Südgrenze lief von der Stadtgrenze Kirjat Jearims aus. Dann ging die Grenze westwärts bis zur Quelle des Nephtoachwassers.
16 And it goeth down to that part of the mountain that looketh on the valley of the children of Ennom: and is over against the north quarter in the furthermost part of the valley of Raphaim, and it goeth down into Geennom (that is the valley of Ennom) by the side of the Jebusite to the south: and cometh to the fountain of Rogel,
Dann lief die Grenze hinab bis ans Ende des Berges, östlich vom Ben-Hinnomstal und nördlich der Rephaimebene. Dann lief sie ins Hinnomstal hinab südlich vom Bergrücken der Jebusiter und weiter hinab zur Rogelquelle.
17 Passing thence to the north, and going out to Ensemes, that is to say, the fountain of the sue:
Dann bog sie nach Norden und lief auf die Quelle von Semes zu. Dann lief sie zu den Gelilot, gegenüber der Steige von Adummim, und zog sich zum Felsen des Rubensohnes Bohan hinab
18 And it passeth along to the hills that are over against the ascent of Adommim: and it goeth down to Abenboen, that is, the stone of Been the son of Ruben: and it passeth on the north side to the champaign countries; and goeth down into the plain,
und hinüber zu dem Bergrücken, nördlich der Steppe gegenüber. Dann lief sie in die Steppe hinab.
19 And it passeth by Bethhagla northward: and the outgoings thereof are towards the north of the most salt sea at the south end of the Jordan:
Dann ging die Grenze hinüber bis nördlich vom Bergrücken von Bet Chogla. Die Grenze endete an der Nordspitze des Salzmeeres, am Südende des Jordan. Das ist die Südgrenze.
20 Which is the border of it on the east side. This is the possession of the children of Benjamin by their borders round about, and their families.
Auf der Ostseite war der Jordan ihre Grenze. Das sind die Grenzen rings um den Erbbesitz der Benjaminitensippen.
21 And their cities were, Jericho and Bethhagla and Vale-Casis,
Die Städte der Sippen des Benjaminitenstammes waren: Jericho, Bet Chogla, Kesistal,
22 Betharaba and Samaraim and Bethel,
Bet Haaraba, Semaraim, Betel,
23 And Avim and Aphara and Ophera,
Awim, Happara, Ophra,
24 The town Emona and Ophni and Gabee: twelve cities, and their villages.
Kephar Haammoni, Haophni und Geba, zwölf Städte mit ihren Dörfern.
25 Gabam and Rama and Beroth,
Gibeon, Harama, Beerot,
26 And Mesphe, and Caphara, and Amosa,
Hammispe, Hakkephira, Hammosa,
27 And Recem, Jarephel and Tharela,
Rekem, Irpeel, Tarala,
28 And Sela, Eleph and Jebus, which is Jerusalem, Gabaath and Cariath: fourteen cities, and their villages. This is the possession of the children of Benjamin by their families.
Sela, Haeleph und die Jebusiterstadt, das ist Jerusalem, Gibeat und Kirjat Arim, vierzehn Städte mit ihren Dörfern. Das ist der Erbbesitz der Benjaminitensippen.
