John 2
1 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there.
तीसरे दिन गलील प्रदेश के काना नगर में एक विवाहोत्सव था. मसीह येशु की माता वहां उपस्थित थी.
2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage.
मसीह येशु और उनके शिष्य भी वहां आमंत्रित थे.
3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine.
जब वहां दाखरस कम पड़ने लगा तो मसीह येशु की माता ने उनसे कहा, “उनका दाखरस समाप्त हो गया है.”
4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come.
इस पर मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “हे स्त्री, इससे आपका और मेरा क्या संबंध? मेरा समय अभी नहीं आया है.”
5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.
उनकी माता ने सेवकों से कहा, “जो कुछ वह तुमसे कहें, वही करो.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece.
वहां यहूदी परंपरा के अनुसार शुद्ध करने के लिए जल के छः पत्थर के बर्तन रखे हुए थे. हर एक में लगभग सौ सवा सौ लीटर जल समाता था.
7 Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
मसीह येशु ने सेवकों से कहा, “बर्तनों को जल से भर दो.” उन्होंने उन्हें मुंह तक भर दिया.
8 And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now, and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it.
इसके बाद मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “अब इसमें से थोड़ा निकालकर समारोह के संचालक के पास ले जाओ.” उन्होंने वैसा ही किया.
9 And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine, and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water; the chief steward calleth the bridegroom,
जब समारोह के प्रधान ने उस जल को चखा—जो वास्तव में दाखरस में बदल गया था और उसे मालूम नहीं था कि वह कहां से आया था, किंतु जिन्होंने उसे निकाला था, वे जानते थे—तब समारोह के प्रधान ने दुल्हे को बुलवाया
10 And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now.
और उससे कहा, “हर एक व्यक्ति पहले उत्तम दाखरस परोसता है और जब लोग पीकर तृप्त हो जाते हैं, तब सस्ता, परंतु तुमने तो उत्तम दाखरस अब तक रख छोड़ा है!”
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
यह मसीह येशु के अद्भुत चिह्नों के करने की शुरुआत थी, जो गलील प्रदेश के काना नगर में हुआ, जिसके द्वारा उन्होंने अपना प्रताप प्रकट किया तथा उनके शिष्यों ने उनमें विश्वास किया.
12 After this he went down to Capharnaum, he and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they remained there not many days.
इसके बाद मसीह येशु, उनकी माता, उनके भाई तथा उनके शिष्य कुछ दिनों के लिए कफ़रनहूम नगर चले गए.
13 And the pasch of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
जब यहूदियों का फ़सह उत्सव पास आया तो मसीह येशु अपने शिष्यों के साथ येरूशलेम गए.
14 And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
उन्होंने मंदिर में बैल, भेड़ और कबूतर बेचने वालों तथा साहूकारों को व्यापार करते हुए पाया.
15 And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.
इसलिये उन्होंने रस्सियों का एक कोड़ा बनाया और उन सबको बैलों और भेड़ों सहित मंदिर से बाहर निकाल दिया और साहूकारों के सिक्के बिखेर दिए, उनकी चौकियों को उलट दिया
16 And to them that sold doves he said: Take these things hence, and make not the house of my Father a house of traffic.
और कबूतर बेचने वालों से कहा, “इन्हें यहां से ले जाओ. मेरे पिता के भवन को व्यापारिक केंद्र मत बनाओ.”
17 And his disciples remembered, that it was written: The zeal of thy house hath eaten me up.
यह सुन शिष्यों को पवित्र शास्त्र का यह लेख याद आया: “आपके भवन की धुन में जलते जलते मैं भस्म हुआ.”
18 The Jews, therefore, answered, and said to him: What sign dost thou shew unto us, seeing thou dost these things?
तब यहूदी अगुओं ने मसीह येशु से कहा, “इन कामों पर अपना अधिकार प्रमाणित करने के लिए तुम हमें क्या चिह्न दिखा सकते हो?”
19 Jesus answered, and said to them: Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
मसीह येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “इस मंदिर को ढाह दो, इसे मैं तीन दिन में दोबारा खड़ा कर दूंगा.”
20 The Jews then said: Six and forty years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
इस पर यहूदी अगुओं ने कहा, “इस मंदिर के निर्माण में छियालीस वर्ष लगे हैं, क्या तुम इसे तीन दिन में खड़ा कर सकते हो?”
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
परंतु मसीह येशु यहां अपने शरीर रूपी मंदिर का वर्णन कर रहे थे.
22 When therefore he was risen again from the dead, his disciples remembered, that he had said this, and they believed the scripture, and the word that Jesus had said.
इसलिये मरे हुओं में से जी उठने के बाद शिष्यों को उनका यह कथन याद आया और उन्होंने पवित्र शास्त्र और मसीह येशु द्वारा कहे गए वचन में विश्वास किया.
23 Now when he was at Jerusalem, at the pasch, upon the festival day, many believed in his name, seeing his signs which he did.
फ़सह उत्सव के समय जब मसीह येशु येरूशलेम में थे, तो उनके द्वारा किए गए अद्भुत चिन्हों को देखकर अनेक लोगों ने उनमें विश्वास किया,
24 But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,
किंतु मसीह येशु उनके प्रति आश्वस्त नहीं थे क्योंकि वह मनुष्य के स्वभाव से परिचित थे.
25 And because he needed not that any should give testimony of man: for he knew what was in man.
उन्हें मनुष्य के विषय में मनुष्य की गवाही की ज़रूरत नहीं थी. वह जानते थे कि मनुष्य क्या है.
