Job 34
1 And Eliu continued his discourse, and said:
Ê-li-hu lại cất tiếng mà nói rằng:
2 Hear ye, wise men, my words, and ye learned, hearken to me:
Hỡi các người khôn ngoan, hãy nghe những lời nói tôi; Ớ kẻ thông sáng, hãy lắng tai nghe tôi;
3 For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.
Vì lỗ tai thử những lời nói, Như ổ gà nếm lấy đồ ăn,
4 Let us choose to us judgment, and let us see among ourselves what is the best.
Chúng ta hãy chọn cho mình điều phải, Chung nhau nhìn biết việc tốt lành.
5 For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment.
Vì Gióp có nói rằng: "Tôi vốn là công bình, Nhưng Ðức Chúa Trời đã cất sự lý đoán tôi.
6 For in judging me there is a lie: my arrow is violent without any sin.
Tuy tôi ngay thẳng, người ta cho tôi là kẻ nói dối; Dẫu tôi không phạm tội, thương tích tôi không chữa lành được."
7 What man is there like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
Ai là người giống như Gióp? Người uống lời nhạo báng như thể nước;
8 Who goeth in company with them that work iniquity, and walketh with wicked men?
Người kết bạn với kẻ làm hung nghiệt, Và đồng đi với người gian ác?
9 For he hath said: Man shall not please God, although he run with him.
Vì người có nói rằng: "Chẳng ích lợi chi cho loài người Tìm kiếm điều vui thích mình nơi Ðức Chúa Trời."
10 Therefore, ye men of understanding, hear me: far from god be wickedness, and iniquity from the Almighty.
Vì vậy, hỡi người thông sáng, hãy nghe tôi: Ðức Chúa Trời chẳng hề hành ác, Ðấng Toàn năng không bao giờ làm hung nghiệt.
11 For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them.
Ngài báo ứng loài người tùy công việc mình làm, Khiến mỗi người tìm được lại chiếu theo tánh hạnh mình.
12 For in very deed God will not condemn without cause, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
Quả thật Ðức Chúa Trời không làm ác, Ðấng Toàn năng chẳng trái phép công bình.
13 What other hath he appointed over the earth? or whom hath he set over the world which he made?
Ai giao cho Ngài trách nhậm coi sóc trái đất? Ai đặt Ngài cai trị toàn thế gian?
14 If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself.
Nếu Ngài chỉ lo tưởng đến chính mình Ngài, Thâu lại về mình thần linh và hơi thở của Ngài,
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.
Thì các loài xác thịt chắc chết chung nhau hết, Và loài người trở vào bụi đất.
16 If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.
Nếu ông có sự thông sáng, hãy nghe điều nầy; Khá lắng tai nghe tiếng lời nói của tôi.
17 Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?
Chớ thì người nào ghét sự công bình sẽ được cai trị sao? Ông há dám lên án cho Ðấng công bình cao cả ư?
18 Who saith to the king: Thou art an apostate: who calleth rulers ungodly?
Há có nên nói với vua rằng: "Ðồ xấu xa nà?" Hay là nói với người tước vị rằng: "Kẻ ác nghiệp mầy?"
19 Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.
Phương chi Ðấng chẳng tư vị những vương tử, Chẳng xem kẻ giàu trọng hơn kẻ nghèo; Bởi chúng hết thảy là công việc của tay Ngài.
20 They shall suddenly die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and they shall pass, and take away the violent without hand.
Trong giây phút, giữa ban đêm, chúng đều chết; Bá tánh xiêu tó và qua mất đi, Các kẻ cường quyền bị cất đi, không phải bởi tay loài người.
21 For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he considereth all their steps.
Vì mắt Ðức Chúa Trời xem xét đường lối loài người, Ngài nom các bước họ.
22 There is no darkness, and there is no shadow of death, where they may be hid who work iniquity.
Chẳng có tối tăm mù mịt nào Cho kẻ làm ác ẩn núp mình được.
23 For it is no longer in the power of man to enter into judgment with God.
Khi Ðức Chúa Trời phán xét loài người, Thì chẳng cần khiến họ đến trước mặt Ngài hai lần đặng tra xét.
24 He shall break in pieces many and innumerable, and shall make others to stand in their stead.
Ngài hủy phá kẻ cường quyền không cần tra soát, Rồi lập kẻ khác thế vào cho;
25 For he knoweth their works: and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed.
Bởi vì Chúa biết các công việc chúng, Ðánh đổ chúng ban đêm, và chúng bị diệt đi.
26 He hath struck them, as being wicked, in open sight.
Chúa hành hại họ như người ác, Có kẻ khác xem thấy;
27 Who as it were on purpose have revolted from him, and would not understand all his ways:
Bởi vì chúng có xây bỏ theo Chúa, Không kể đến các đường lối Ngài.
28 So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.
Chúng làm cho tiếng kẻ nghèo thấu đến Chúa, Và Chúa nghe tiếng kêu la của kẻ bị gian truân.
29 For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?
Khi Ngài ban cho bình an, ai sẽ làm cho rối loạn? Khi Ngài ẩn mắt mình, ai có thể thấy Ngài? Ngài làm như vậy hoặc cho dân tộc nào, hoặc cho người nào,
30 Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?
Hầu ngăn trở kẻ gian ác cai trị, Và không ai gài bẫy cho dân sự.
31 Seeing then I have spoken of God, I will not hinder thee in thy turn.
Vì có người nào bao giờ nói với Ðức Chúa Trời rằng: "Tôi đã mang chịu sửa phạt tôi, tôi sẽ không làm ác nữa;
32 If I have erred, teach thou me: if I have spoken iniquity, I will add no more.
Ðiều chi tôi chẳng thấy, xin Chúa chỉ dạy cho tôi; Nếu tôi có làm ác, tôi sẽ chẳng làm lại nữa?
33 Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? for thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.
Ðức Chúa Trời há cứ theo ý tưởng ông mà báo ứng ông sao? Vì ông có bỏ sự báo ứng của Chúa, nên ông phải chọn lựa lấy, chớ chẳng phải tôi; Vậy nên điều ông biết, hãy nói đi.
34 Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
Những người thông sáng, và mỗi người khôn ngoan đương nghe tôi, Sẽ nói với tôi rằng:
35 But Job hath spoken foolishly, and his words sound not discipline.
"Gióp nói cách không hiểu biết, Và lời của người thiếu sự thông sáng."
36 My father, let Job be tried even to the end: cease not from the man of iniquity.
Tôi nguyện cho Gióp bị thử thách đến cùng, Bởi vì người có đáp lời như kẻ ác;
37 Because he addeth blasphemy upon his sins, let him be tied fast in the mean time amongst us: and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.
Người có thêm sự phản nghịch vào tội lỗi mình, Vỗ tay mình tại giữa chúng tôi, Và càng thêm lời nói nghịch Ðức Chúa Trời.
