Job 30
1 But now the younger in time scorn me, whose fathers I would not have set with the dogs of my flock:
१“परंतु आता माझ्यापेक्षा लहान माणसे देखील माझी थट्ट करत आहेत, आणि त्याचे वाडवडील ज्यांना मी माझ्या मेंढ्यांची राखण करणाऱ्या कुत्र्यांमध्ये देखील ठेवले नसते.
2 The strength of whose hands was to me as nothing, and they were thought unworthy of life itself.
२त्या तरुणांचे वडील मला मदत करण्याच्या दृष्टीने अगदीच निकामी आहेत. ते म्हातारे झाले आहेत आणि दमले आहेत. आता त्यांचे स्नायू टणक आणि जोमदार राहिलेले नाहीत.
3 Barren with want and hunger, who gnawed in the wilderness, disfigured with calamity and misery.
३ते मृतप्राय झाले आहेत. खायला नसल्यामुळे त्यांची उपासमार होत आहे व म्हणून ते वाळवटांतील धूळ खात आहेत.
4 And they ate grass, and barks of trees, and the root of junipers was their food.
४ते वाळवटांतील क्षार-झुडपे उपटून घेतात. रतम नावाच्या झाडाची मुळे खातात.
5 Who snatched up these things out of the valleys, and when they had found any of them, they ran to them with a cry.
५त्यांना दुसऱ्या मनुष्यांपासून दूर ठेवण्यात येते. ते चोर व दरोडेखोर असल्याप्रमाणे लोक त्यांच्यावर ओरडत असतात.
6 They dwelt in the desert places of torrents, and in caves of earth, or upon the gravel.
६त्यांना नदीच्या कोरड्या पात्रात, डोंगराळ भागातील गुहेत किंवा जमिनीतील विवरात रहावे लागते.
7 They pleased themselves among these kind of things, and counted it delightful to be under the briers.
७ते झाडाझुडपात आक्रोश करतात. काटेरी झुडपात एकमेकांच्या आश्रयाने राहतात.
8 The children of foolish and base men, and not appearing at all upon the earth.
८ते काडी इतकेही मोल नसलेले लोक आहेत. काहीही नाव नसलेल्या या लोकांस त्यांच्या देशातून हाकलून दिले आहे.
9 Now I am turned into their song, and am become their byword.
९अशा लोकांची मुले माझी चेष्टा करणारी गाणी गातात. त्यांच्या दृष्टीने माझे नाव म्हणजे एक शिवी आहे.
10 They abhor me, and flee far from me, and are not afraid to spit in my face.
१०ते तरुण माझा तिरस्कार करतात ते माझ्यापासून लांब उभे राहतात. ते माझ्यापेक्षा उच्च आहेत असे त्यांना वाटते. ते माझ्या तोंडावर थुंकतात सुध्दा.
11 For he hath opened his quiver, and hath afflicted me, and hath put a bridle into my mouth.
११देवाने माझ्या धनुष्याची प्रत्यंचा काढून घेतली आणि मला दुबळा बनवले. ती तरुण माणसे स्वत: ला न थोपविता रागाने माझ्याविरुध्द वागतात.
12 At the right hand of my rising, my calamities forthwith arose: they have overthrown my feet, and have overwhelmed me with their paths as with waves.
१२ते माझ्या उजव्या भागावर वार करतात. ते माझ्या पायावर वकरुन पाडतात. एखाद्या शहरावर सैन्याने चालून जावे तसे मला वाटते. माझ्यावर हल्ला करून माझा नाश करण्यासाठी माझ्या तटबंदीला मातीचे चढाव बांधतात.
13 They have destroyed my ways, they have lain in wait against me, and they have prevailed, and there was none to help.
१३मी पळून जाऊ नये म्हणून ते रस्त्यावर पहारा देतात. माझा नाश करण्यात त्यांना यश मिळते. कुणाच्या मदतीची त्यांना गरज नसते.
14 They have rushed in upon me, as when a wall is broken, and a gate opened, and have rolled themselves down to my miseries.
१४ते भिंतीला भोक पाडतात. ते त्यातून आत घुसतात आणि माझ्यावर दरडी कोसळतात.
15 I am brought to nothing: as a wind thou hast taken away my desire: and my prosperity hath passed away like a cloud.
१५भीतीने माझा थरकाप झाला आहे. वाऱ्याने सगळे काही उडून जावे त्याप्रमाणे त्यांनी माझी प्रतिष्ठा उडवून लावली आहे. माझी सुरक्षितता ढगांप्रमाणे नाहीशी झाली आहे.
16 And now my soul fadeth within myself, and the days of affliction possess me.
१६माझे आयुष्य आता गेल्यातच जमा आहे आणि मी लवकरच मरणार आहे. दु: खानी भरलेल्या दिवसानी मला वेढून टाकले आहे.
17 In the night my bone is pierced with sorrows: and they that feed upon me, do not sleep.
१७माझी सगळी हाडे रात्री दुखतात. वेदना मला कुरतडणे थांबवत नाहीत.
18 With the multitude of them my garment is consumed, and they have girded me about, as with the collar of my coat.
१८देवाने माझ्या कोटाची गळ्याप्रमाणे खेचून माझे कपडे आकारहीन केले आहेत.
19 I am compared to dirt, and am likened to embers and ashes.
१९देवाने मला चिखलात फेकून दिले आणि माझी राख व कचरा झाला.
20 I cry to thee, and thou hearest me not: I stand up, and thou dost not regard me.
२०देवा, मी मदतीसाठी तुझी याचना करतो पण तू उत्तर देत नाहीस. मी उभा राहतो व तुझी प्रार्थना करतो पण तू माझ्याकडे लक्ष देत नाहीस.
21 Thou art changed to be cruel toward me, and in the hardness of thy hand thou art against me.
२१देवा, तू माझ्याशी फार नीचपणे वागतोस. तू तुझ्या बळाचा उपयोग मला दु: ख देण्यासाठी करतोस.
22 Thou hast lifted me up, and set me as it were upon the wind, and thou hast mightily dashed me.
२२देवा, तू सोसाट्याच्या वाऱ्याने मला उडवून लावतोस. देवा तू मला वादळात फेकून देतोस.
23 I know that thou wilt deliver me to death, where a house is appointed for every one that liveth.
२३तू मला माझ्या मृत्यूकडे घेऊन जात आहेस हे मला माहीत आहे. प्रत्येक जिवंत मनुष्यास मरावे हे लागतेच.
24 But yet thou stretchest not forth thy hand to their consumption: and if they shall fall down thou wilt save.
२४परंतु जो आधीच दु: खाने पोळला आहे आणि मदतीची याचना करीत आहे त्यास कोणी अधिक दु: ख देणार नाही.
25 I wept heretofore for him that was afflicted, and my soul had compassion on the poor.
२५देवा, मी संकटात सापडलेल्यांसाठी मदतीची याचना केली होती हे तुला माहीत आहे. गरीबांसाठी माझे हृदय तीळ तीळ तुटत होते हे ही तुला माहीत आहे.
26 I expected good things, and evils are come upon me: I waited for light, and darkness broke out.
२६परंतु मी जेव्हा चांगल्याची अपेक्षा करीत होतो तेव्हा माझ्या वाट्याला वाईट गोष्टी आल्या. मला उजेड हवा होता तेव्हा अंधार मिळाला.
27 My inner parts have boiled without any rest, the days of affliction have prevented me.
२७मी आतून अगदी मोडून गेलो आहे. माझ्या वेदना कधीच थांबत नाहीत आणि वेदना आणखी येणारच आहेत.
28 I went mourning without indignation; I rose up, and cried in the crowd.
२८मी सदैव दु: खी असतो, पण मला स्वास्थ्य लाभत नाही. मी लोकांच्यात उभा राहून मदतीसाठी ओरडतो.
29 I was the brother of dragons, and companion of ostriches.
२९कोल्ह्यांना मी भाऊ, आणि शहामृगांना सोबती असा झालो आहे.
30 My skin is become black upon me, and my bones are dried up with heat.
३०माझी कातडी काळी पडली आहे आणि शरीर तापाने फणफणले आहे.
31 My harp is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of those that weep.
३१माझे वाद्य शोक गाण्यासाठीच लावले गेले आहे, माझ्या बासरीतून रडण्याचेच सूर उमटत आहेत.”
