Job 23
1 Then Job answered, and said:
১তখন ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন এবং বললেন,
2 Now also my words are in bitterness, and the hand of my scourge is more grievous than my mourning.
২“এমনকি আজও আমার অভিযোগ তিক্ত; আমার আর্তনাদের চেয়ে আমার যন্ত্রণা অনেক বেশি।
3 Who will grant me that I might know and find him, and come even to his throne?
৩আহা, যদি আমি জানতাম কোথায় আমি তাঁকে পেতে পারি! আহা, আমি যদি তাঁর গৃহে যেতে পারি!
4 I would set judgment before him, and would fill my mouth with complaints.
৪আমি আমার অভিযোগ তাঁর সামনে সাজিয়ে রাখব এবং তর্কবিতর্কে আমার মুখ পূর্ণ রাখব।
5 That I might know the words that he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.
৫তিনি আমায় যা উত্তর দেবেন তা আমি জানব এবং যা তিনি আমায় বলবেন বুঝতে পারব।
6 I would not that he should contend with me with much strength, nor overwhelm me with the weight of his greatness.
৬তাঁর মহা শক্তিতে কি তিনি আমার বিরুদ্ধে তর্ক বিতর্ক করবেন? না, তিনি আমার প্রতি মনোযোগ দেবেন।
7 Let him propose equity against me, and let my judgment come to victory.
৭সেখানে সরল লোক হয়ত তাঁর সঙ্গে বিচার করতে পারে। এই ভাবে আমি হয়ত আমার বিচারকের থেকে চিরকালের মত মুক্তি পেতে পারি।
8 But if I go to the east, he appeareth not; if to the west, I shall not understand him.
৮দেখ, আমি সামনে যাই, কিন্তু তিনি সেখানে নেই এবং পিছনে যাই, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না
9 If to the left hand, what shall I do? I shall not take hold on him: if I turn myself to the right hand, I shall not see him.
৯বামদিকে, যেখানে তিনি কাজ করেন, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না এবং ডানদিকে, যেখানে তিনি নিজেকে লুকিয়েছেন যাতে আমি তাঁকে দেখতে না পাই।
10 But he knoweth my way, and has tried me as gold that passeth through the fire:
১০কিন্তু তিনি জানেন আমি কোন পথ নিয়েছি; যখন তিনি আমায় পরীক্ষা করবেন, আমি সোনার মত বার হয়ে আসব।
11 My foot hath followed his steps, I have kept his way, and have not declined from it.
১১আমার পা তাঁর পায়ের চিহ্ন ধরে চলে; আমি তাঁর পথ ধরে রেখেছি এবং তার থেকে অন্য কোনদিকে ফিরি না।
12 I have not departed from the commandments of his lips, and the words of his mouth I have hid in my bosom.
১২তাঁর ঠোঁটের আদেশ থেকে আমি ফিরে যাই নি; তাঁর মুখের কথা আমি আমার হৃদয়ে সঞ্চয় করে রেখেছি, আমার প্রয়োজনীয় বিষয়েরও অধিক।
13 For he is alone, and no man can turn away his thought: and whatsoever is soul hath desired, that hath he done.
১৩কিন্তু তিনি অপরিবর্তনীয়; কে তাঁকে পরিবর্তন করতে পারে? তাঁর প্রাণ যা চায়, তিনি তাই করেন।
14 And when he shall have fulfilled his will in me, many other like things are also at hand with him.
১৪কারণ তিনি তা সফল করবেন যা আমার জন্য নিরূপিত করেছেন; এবং এরকম অনেক কিছু তাঁর মনে আছে।
15 And therefore I am troubled at his presence, and when I consider him I am made pensive with fear.
১৫এই জন্য, আমি তাঁর উপস্থিতিতে আতঙ্কিত হই; যখন আমি তাঁর বিষয়ে ভাবি, আমি তাঁকে ভয় করি।
16 God hath softened my heart, and the Almighty hath troubled me.
১৬কারণ ঈশ্বর আমার হৃদয় দুর্বল করে বানিয়েছে; সর্বশক্তিমান আমায় আতঙ্কিত করেছেন।
17 For I have not perished because of the darkness that hangs over me, neither hath the mist covered my face.
১৭এমন নয় যে আমি অন্ধকারের দ্বারা নীরব হয়ে আছি, না ঘন অন্ধকার আমার মুখ ঢেকে দিয়েছে।
