< Job 22 >

1 Then Eliphaz the Themanite answered, and said:
Ket simmungbat ni Elipas a Temanita ket kinunana,
2 Can man be compared with God, even though he were of perfect knowledge?
“Adda kadi serserbi ti tao iti Dios? Adda kadi serserbi ti nasarib a tao kenkuana?
3 What doth it profit God if thou be just? or what dost thou give him if thy way be unspotted?
Pakaragsakan kadi ti Mannakabalin-amin no nalintegka? Adda kadi ti magun-odna no aramidem dagiti wagasmo nga awan pakababalawanna?
4 Shall he reprove thee for fear, and come with thee into judgment:
Gapu kadi iti panagraemmo kenkuana a tubtubngarennaka ken uk-ukomennaka?
5 And not for thy manifold wickedness, and thy infinite iniquities?
Saan kadi a nakaro ti kinadangkesmo? Awan kadi ti pagpatinggaan dagiti kinadakesmo?
6 For thou hast taken away the pledge of thy brethren without cause, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
Ta pinilitmo nga innala ti pammatalged manipud iti kabsatmo nga awan gapgapuna; linabusam ti maysa a lamo-lamo a tao kadagiti pagan-anayna.
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary, thou hast withdrawn bread from the hungry.
Saanka a nangted iti danum nga inumen dagiti nabannog a tattao; inyimutmo ti tinapay kadagiti mabisin a tattao.
8 In the strength of thy arm thou didst possess the land, and being the most mighty thou holdest it.
uray no sika, a nabileg a tao, tinagikuam ti daga, uray no sika, mararaem a tao, nagnaedka iti daytoy.
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless thou hast broken in pieces.
Pinapanawmo dagiti balo nga awanan; natukkol dagiti takkiag dagiti ulila.
10 Therefore art thou surrounded with snares, and sudden fear troubleth thee.
Ngarud, adda dagiti silo iti amin nga aglawlawmo, ken rirriribukennaka ti kellaat a panagbuteng.
11 And didst thou think that thou shouldst not see darkness, and that thou shouldst not be covered with the violence of overflowing waters?
Adda ti kinasipnget, tapno saanka a makakita; liplipusennaka ti aglaplapusanan a danum.
12 Dost not thou think that God is higher than heaven, and is elevated above the height of the stars?
Saan kadi nga adda ti Dios kadagiti kinangato ti langit? Kitaem ti kinangato dagiti bituen, anian a nagngatoda!
13 And thou sayst: What doth God know? and he judgeth as it were through a mist.
Ibagbagam, 'Ania ti ammo ti Dios? Makaukom kadi isuna iti nakaro a kinasipnget?
14 The clouds are his covert, and he doth not consider our things, and he walketh about the poles of heaven.
Dagiti napuskol nga ulep ket maysa a manglinglinged kenkuana, isu a saannatayo a makitkita; magmagna isuna iti dakkel a silid ti langit.'
15 Dost thou desire to keep the path of ages, which wicked men have trodden?
Agtultuloyka kadi iti daan a dalan a nagnaan dagiti nadangkes a tattao -
16 Who were taken away before their time, and a flood hath overthrown their foundation.
dagiti narabsut sakbay pay ti tiempoda, dagiti naiyanud dagiti pundasionda a kas iti maysa a karayan,
17 Who said to God: Depart from us: and looked upon the Almighty as if he could do nothing:
dagiti nangibaga iti Dios, 'Adaywannakami'; dagiti nangibaga, 'Ania ti maaramidan ti Mannakabalin-amin kadakami?'
18 Whereas he had filled their houses with good things: whose way of thinking be far from me.
Nupay kasta, pinunnona dagiti babbalayda kadagiti naimbag a banbanag; adayo kaniak dagiti panggep dagiti nadangkes a tattao.
19 The just shall see, and shall rejoice, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorn.
Makita dagiti nalinteg a tattao ti gasatda ket maragsakanda; katkatawaan ida dagiti awan basolna a tattao a mangum-umsi.
20 Is not their exaltation cut down, and hath not fire devoured the remnants of them?
Kunada, '“Awan dua-dua a maputed dagiti tumakder a maibusor kadatayo; inuram ti apuy dagiti sanikuada.'
21 Submit thyself then to him, and be at peace: and thereby thou shalt have the best fruits.
Ita, makianamongka iti Dios ken makikapiaka kenkuana; iti kasta a wagas, umayto kenka ti kinaimbag.
22 Receive the law of his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart.
Agpakpakaasiak kenka, awatem ti pagannurotan manipud iti ngiwatna; salimetmetam dagiti sasaona dita pusom.
23 If thou wilt return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, and shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacle.
No agsublika iti Mannakabalin-amin, mapapigsaka, no iyadayom ti kinakillo kadagiti toldam.
24 He shall give for earth flint, and for flint torrents of gold.
Ikabilmo dagiti gamengmo iti tapok, ti balitok ti Ophir kadagiti batbato dagiti waig,
25 And the Almighty shall be against thy enemies, and silver shall be heaped together for thee.
ket ti Mannakabalin-amin ti agbalinto a gamengmo, ti napateg a pirak kenka.
26 Then shalt thou abound in delights in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face to God.
Ta kalpasanna agragsakanto iti Mannakabalin-amin; itangadmonto ti rupam iti Dios.
27 Thou shalt pray to him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay vows.
Agkararagkanto kenkuana, ket denggennakanto; aramidemto dagiti sapatam kenkuana.
28 Thou shalt decree a thing, and it I shall come to thee, and light shall shine in thy ways.
Mangikeddengkanto met iti aniaman a banag, ket mapasingkedanto kenka; agraniagto ti silaw kadagiti dalanmo.
29 For he that hath been humbled, shall be in glory: and he that shall bow down his eyes, he shall be saved.
Ipababa ti Dios ti napalangguad a tao, ken isalakanna dagiti nakadumog.
30 The innocent shall be saved, and he shall be saved by the cleanness of his hands.
Ispalenna ti tao nga awan basolna; maispalkanto babaen iti kinadalus dagiti imam.”
