< Job 17 >
1 My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me.
Me sunsum atɔ piti, me nna so atwa, na damena retwɛn me.
2 I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.
Ampa ara fɛdifoɔ atwa me ho ahyia; ɛsɛ sɛ mehwɛ wɔn atutupɛ.
3 Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man’s hand fight against me.
“Ao Onyankopɔn, hyɛ me ɛbɔ a wopɛ. Hwan bio na ɔbɛma me banbɔ?
4 Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.
Woato wɔn adwene mu a wɔnte asɛm ase; enti woremma wɔnni nkonim.
5 He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
Sɛ obi sopa ne nnamfonom de nya akatua a, ne mma ani bɛfira.
6 He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.
“Onyankopɔn de me ayɛ asɛm a ɛda obiara ano, obi a wɔte ntasuo gu nʼani so.
7 My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.
Awerɛhoɔ ama mʼani ayɛ samoo me bɔberɛ nyinaa yɛ sunsumma.
8 The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.
Ateneneefoɔ hunu me a, ɛyɛ wɔn nwanwa. Wɔn a wɔdi bem no bɛsɔre atia wɔn a wɔnni nyamesu.
9 And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Ateneneefoɔ bɛkɔ wɔn anim, na wɔn a wɔn nsa ho teɛ bɛkɔ so anya ahoɔden.
10 Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.
“Mo nyinaa mo nsane mmra mmɛsɔ me nhwɛ! Na merennya onyansafoɔ wɔ mo mu.
11 My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.
Me nna atwam, me nhyehyɛeɛ apansam, saa ara na mʼakoma apɛdeɛ nso ayɛ.
12 They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.
Saa nnipa yi ma anadwo dane awia; esum mu koraa no, wɔka sɛ, ‘Hann abɛn,’
13 If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness. (Sheol )
Sɛ efie baako pɛ a mʼani da so ne damena, sɛ mesɛ me kɛtɛ wɔ esum mu, (Sheol )
14 If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.
sɛ meka kyerɛ porɔeɛ sɛ, ‘Woyɛ mʼagya,’ na me kyerɛ ɔsonsono sɛ, ‘Me maame’ anaa ‘Me nuabaa’ a,
15 Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?
na afei mʼanidasoɔ wɔ he? Hwan na ɔbɛtumi anya anidasoɔ bi ama me?
16 All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest? (Sheol )
Ɛbɛsiane akɔ owuo ɛpono ano anaa? Yɛn nyinaa bɛsiane akɔ mfuturo mu anaa?” (Sheol )
