< Job 17 >

1 My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me.
Fa demoke ty troko, le modo o androkoo; vaho veka’e amako ty kibory.
2 I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.
Toe amako atoa o mañinje ahikoo; naho harefe’ o masokoo ty fanigiha’ iareo?
3 Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man’s hand fight against me.
Toloro antoke henaneo, Ihe ro tsoake, ia ka ty hifampipao-pitàñe amako?
4 Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.
Fa nakite’o ty tro’ iareo tsy hahilala, aa le tsy honjone’o.
5 He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
Ie mifosa rañetse hahazoa’e raha, le hilesa ka o mason’ ana’eo.
6 He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.
Fe nanoa’e mpitolom-bola’ ondaty; firorà’ o lahilahio ty tareheko.
7 My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.
Nampaieñe ty fioremeñako o masokoo, hoe talinjo avao o fangefangekoo.
8 The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.
Ilatsa’ ondaty vantañeo, hitrobo-vatañe ty vaño hatreatre’e ty tsy aman-kake.
9 And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Mitan-ty lala’e ty marentane, naho mihaozatse vaho mihafatratse ty malio fitàñe.
10 Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.
Aa inahareo iaby, mibaliha mb’etoa indraike, f’ie tsy hahatrea ondaty mahilala ama’ areo.
11 My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.
Fa modo o androkoo, nipeñapeñake o safirikoo; naho o fisalalan-trokoo!
12 They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.
Afote’ iereo ho andro ty haleñe [ami’ty hoe]: Mitotoke añatrefa’ i ieñey ty hazavàñe,
13 If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness. (Sheol h7585)
Ie andiñisako ho akibako ty tsikeokeoke, naho añ’ieñe ao ty andafihako i tihikoy, (Sheol h7585)
14 If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.
Aa naho tokaveko i koboñey, [ty hoe: ] Raeko irehe, naho i oletsey: Ihe ty Reneko naho rahavaveko;
15 Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?
Aia arè o fitamakoo? I fisalalàkoy, ia ty mahaisak’ aze?
16 All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest? (Sheol h7585)
Hilenteke mb’an-tsikeokeoke ao hao re? hitrao-pitofàñe an-debok’ ao hao zahay. (Sheol h7585)
