< Job 17 >
1 My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me.
Chunya onyosore, ndalona ongʼad machiek, kendo thona ema chiegni koda.
2 I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.
Jogo ma nyiera olwora koni gi koni; kendo asiko mana kaneno gero ma gin-go koda.
3 Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man’s hand fight against me.
“Yaye Nyasaye, nyisa gima idwaro. En ngʼa machielo mabiro rita?
4 Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.
Isedino pachgi mondo kik gifweny adiera; omiyo ok ibi yie mondo gibed joloch.
5 He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
Ka ngʼato ondhogo osiepne mondo oyud mwandu to gima otimono nyaka dongʼ ewi nyithinde.
6 He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.
“Nyasaye osemiyo abedo ngʼama ji duto goyo ngero kendo ma ka ji oneno to ngʼudho kuome olawo.
7 My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.
Wengena koro ok nen maber nikech kuyo ma an-go; denda duto olokore choke lilo.
8 The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.
Joma paro ni gin joma kare kibaji omako; kendo joma paro ni ler wacho ni ok angʼeyo Nyasaye.
9 And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Kata kamano, joma kare nosik koluwo yoregi makare, kendo joma yoregi oriere nomed bedo motegno.
10 Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.
“Un duto weyauru kendo dhiuru mabor nikech ok aneno ngʼama riek kuomu-ka.
11 My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.
Ndalona osekadho, chenrona duto osekethore, kaachiel gi gik moko duto ma chunya gombo.
12 They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.
Jogi loko otieno mi bed odiechiengʼ; ka piny otimo mudho to giwacho ni, ‘Ler ni machiegni.’
13 If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness. (Sheol )
Ka dipo ni dala ma ageno dhiye en mana liel kende, kata kapo ni apedho kitandana e mudho, (Sheol )
14 If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.
ka dipo ni awacho ne kethruok ni, ‘In e wuonwa,’ kendo aluongo kudni ni, ‘minwa,’ kata ni, ‘nyamera,’
15 Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?
to koro geno mara ni kune? En ngʼa manyalo neno geno moro amora ma an-go?
16 All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest? (Sheol )
Bende dodhi piny nyaka e dhorangeye mag tho? Koso bende dwalor kode nyaka ei lowo?” (Sheol )
