< Job 17 >
1 My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me.
Ka hringnae hah a kâbawng teh, ka hninnaw hai aloum toe. Kai hanelah phuen hai coungkacoe lah ao toe.
2 I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.
Ka panuikhai e hah kai koe awm awh hoeh maw. Ka lung ka khuek sak e lawk ka mit a um nahoehmaw.
3 Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man’s hand fight against me.
Nama dueng lahoi kai hanelah, lawkkamnae hah sak, kut na ka man e teh api han namaw.
4 Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, panuethainae dawk hoi, a lungthin hah na hro. Hatdawkvah ahnimouh teh, na rasangsak mahoeh.
5 He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
A huiko koe dumnae hoi oupnae lawk ka dei e teh, a canaw e mit totouh a mawm han.
6 He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.
Hateiteh, tamimaya koe kâpankhai rumram hanelah na sak teh, ahnimae hmalah tamtui pathasin rumram hanelah ka o.
7 My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.
Ka lungmathoenae kecu dawk ka mit totouh a mawm teh, ka takthai pueng heh tâhlip rumram la ao.
8 The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.
Tamikalannaw ni hetheh kângairu ati awh han, kayonhoehe taminaw ni cathutlaipa e taminaw a taran awh han.
9 And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Hateiteh, tamikalan ni a lamthung hah a kuet vaiteh, ka thoung e kut ka tawn e teh hoe a thao han.
10 Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.
Hateiteh, abuemlahoi pahren lahoi bout ban awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, nangmouh thung dawkvah tamilungkaang ka hmawt pawm mahoeh.
11 My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.
Ka hninnaw hai aloum toe. Ka lungthung hoi ka pouk teh, ka noe e naw hai ayawmyin lah doeh ao.
12 They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.
Tangmin hah kanîthun lah a kâthungsak teh, khohmo thung hai angnae a hnai toe ati awh.
13 If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness. (Sheol )
Phuen hah ka im patetlah ka ring teh, hmonae thung vah ikhun ka sak pawiteh, (Sheol )
14 If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.

15 Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?

16 All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest? (Sheol )
Duenae kho takhang koe lah, a kamleng awh vaiteh, vaiphu dawk rei ka kâhat han namaw, telah ati. (Sheol )
