Job 11
1 Then Sophar the Naamathite answered, and said:
इसके बाद नआमथवासी ज़ोफर ने कहना प्रारंभ किया:
2 Shall not he that speaketh much, hear also? or shall a man full of talk be justified?
“क्या मेरे इतने सारे शब्दों का उत्तर नहीं मिलेगा? क्या कोई वाचाल व्यक्ति दोष मुक्त माना जाएगा?
3 Shall men hold their peace to thee only? and when thou hast mocked others, shall no man confute thee?
क्या तुम्हारी अहंकार की बातें लोगों को चुप कर पाएगी? क्या तुम उपहास करके भी कष्ट से मुक्त रहोगे?
4 For thou hast said: My word is pure, and I am clean in thy sight.
क्योंकि तुमने तो कहा है, ‘मेरी शिक्षा निर्मल है तथा आपके आंकलन में मैं निर्दोष हूं,’
5 And I wish that God would speak with thee, and would open his lips to thee,
किंतु यह संभव है कि परमेश्वर संवाद करने लगें तथा वह तुम्हारे विरुद्ध अपना निर्णय दें.
6 That he might shew thee the secrets of wisdom, and that his law is manifold, and thou mightest understand that he exacteth much less of thee, than thy iniquity deserveth.
वह तुम पर ज्ञान का रहस्य प्रगट कर दें, क्योंकि सत्य ज्ञान के दो पक्ष हैं. तब यह समझ लो, कि परमेश्वर तुम्हारे अपराध के कुछ अंश को भूल जाते हैं.
7 Peradventure thou wilt comprehend the steps of God, and wilt find out the Almighty perfectly?
“क्या, परमेश्वर के रहस्य की गहराई को नापना तुम्हारे लिए संभव है? क्या तुम सर्वशक्तिमान की सीमाओं की जांच कर सकते हो?
8 He is higher than heaven, and what wilt thou do? he is deeper than hell, and how wilt thou know? (Sheol h7585)
क्या करोगे तुम? वे तो आकाश-समान उन्नत हैं. क्या मालूम कर सकोगे तुम? वे तो पाताल से भी अधिक अथाह हैं. (Sheol h7585)
9 The measure of him is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
इसका विस्तार पृथ्वी से भी लंबा है तथा महासागर से भी अधिक व्यापक.
10 If he shall overturn all things, or shall press them together, who shall contradict him?
“यदि वह आएं तथा तुम्हें बंदी बना दें, तथा तुम्हारे लिए अदालत आयोजित कर दें, तो कौन उन्हें रोक सकता है?
11 For he knoweth the vanity of men, and when he seeth iniquity, doth he not consider it?
वह तो पाखंडी को पहचान लेते हैं, उन्हें तो यह भी आवश्यकता नहीं; कि वह पापी के लिए विचार करें.
12 A vain man is lifted up into pride, and thinketh himself born free like a wild ass’s colt.
जैसे जंगली गधे का बच्चा मनुष्य नहीं बन सकता, वैसे ही किसी मूर्ख को बुद्धिमान नहीं बनाया जा सकता.
13 Rut thou hast hardened thy heart, and hast spread thy hands to him.
“यदि तुम अपने हृदय को शुद्ध दिशा की ओर बढ़ाओ, तथा अपना हाथ परमेश्वर की ओर बढ़ाओ,
14 If thou wilt put away from thee the iniquity that is in thy hand, and lot not injustice remain in thy tabernacle:
यदि तुम्हारे हाथ जिस पाप में फंसे है, तुम इसका परित्याग कर दो तथा अपने घरों में बुराई का प्रवेश न होने दो,
15 Then mayst thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be steadfast, and shalt not fear.
तो तुम निःसंकोच अपना सिर ऊंचा कर सकोगे तथा तुम निर्भय हो स्थिर खड़े रह सकोगे.
16 Thou shalt also forget misery, and remember it only as waters that are passed away.
क्योंकि तुम्हें अपने कष्टों का स्मरण रहेगा, जैसे वह जल जो बह चुका है वैसी ही होगी तुम्हारी स्मृति.
17 And brightness like that of the noonday, shall arise to thee at evening: and when thou shalt think thyself consumed, thou shalt rise as the day star.
तब तुम्हारा जीवन दोपहर के सूरज से भी अधिक प्रकाशमान हो जाएगा, अंधकार भी प्रभात-समान होगा.
18 And thou shalt have confidence, hope being set before thee, and being buried thou shalt sleep secure.
तब तुम विश्वास करोगे, क्योंकि तब तुम्हारे सामने होगी एक आशा; तुम आस-पास निरीक्षण करोगे और फिर पूर्ण सुरक्षा में विश्राम करोगे.
19 Thou shalt rest, and there shall be none to make thee afraid: and many shall entreat thy face.
कोई भी तुम्हारी निद्रा में बाधा न डालेगा, अनेक तुम्हारे समर्थन की अपेक्षा करेंगे.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall decay, and the way to escape shall fail them, and their hope the abomination of the soul.
किंतु दुर्वृत्तों की दृष्टि शून्य हो जाएगी, उनके लिए निकास न हो सकेगा; उनके लिए एकमात्र आशा है मृत्यु.”
