Jeremiah 8
1 At that time, saith the Lord, they shall cast out the bones of the kings of Juda, and the bones of the princes thereof, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.
Zu derselben Zeit, spricht der HERR, wird man die Gebeine der Könige Juda's, die Gebeine ihrer Fürsten, die Gebeine der Priester, die Gebeine der Propheten, die Gebeine der Bürger zu Jerusalem aus ihren Gräbern werfen;
2 And they shall spread them abroad to the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and adored: they shall not be gathered, and they shall not be buried: they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth.
und wird sie hinstreuen unter Sonne, Mond und alles Heer des Himmels, welche sie geliebt und denen sie gedient haben, denen sie nachgefolgt sind und die sie gesucht und angebetet haben. Sie sollen nicht wieder aufgelesen und begraben werden, sondern Kot auf der Erde sein.
3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all that shall remain of this wicked kindred in all places, which are left, to which I have cast them out, saith the Lord of hosts.
Und alle übrigen von diesem bösen Volk, an welchen Ort sie sein werden, dahin ich sie verstoßen habe, werden lieber tot als lebendig sein wollen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.
4 And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: Shall not he that falleth, rise again? and he that is turned away, shall he not turn again?
Darum sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Wo ist jemand, so er fällt, der nicht gerne wieder aufstünde? Wo ist jemand, so er irregeht, der nicht gerne wieder zurechtkäme?
5 Why then is this people in Jerusalem turned away with a stubborn revolting? they have laid hold on lying, and have refused to return.
Dennoch will dies Volk zu Jerusalem irregehen für und für. Sie halten so hart an dem falschen Gottesdienst, daß sie sich nicht wollen abwenden lassen.
6 I attended, and hearkened; no man speaketh what is good, there is none that doth penance for his sin, saying: What have I done? They are all turned to their own course, as a horse rushing to the battle.
Ich sehe und höre, daß sie nichts Rechtes reden. Keiner ist, dem seine Bosheit Leid wäre und der spräche: Was mache ich doch! Sie laufen alle ihren Lauf wie ein grimmiger Hengst im Streit.
7 The kite in the air hath known her time: the turtle, and the swallow, and the stork have observed the time of their coming: but my people have not known the judgment of the Lord.
Ein Storch unter dem Himmel weiß seine Zeit, eine Turteltaube, Kranich und Schwalbe merken ihre Zeit, wann sie wiederkommen sollen, aber mein Volk will das Recht des HERRN nicht wissen.
8 How do you say: We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Indeed the lying pen of the scribes hath wrought falsehood.
Wie mögt ihr doch sagen: “Wir wissen, was recht ist, und haben die heilige Schrift vor uns”? Ist's doch eitel Lüge, was die Schriftgelehrten setzen.
9 The wise men are confounded, they are dismayed, and taken: for they have cast away the word of the Lord, and there is no wisdom in them.
Darum müssen solche Lehrer zu Schanden, erschreckt und gefangen werden; denn was können sie Gutes lehren, weil sie des HERRN Wort verwerfen?
10 Therefore I will give their women to strangers, their fields to others for an inheritance: because from the least even to the greatest all follow covetousness: from the prophet even to the priest, all deal deceitfully.
Darum will ich ihre Weiber den Fremden geben und ihre Äcker denen, die sie verjagen werden. Denn sie geizen allesamt, beide, klein und groß; und beide, Priester und Propheten, gehen mit Lügen um
11 And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying Peace, peace: when there was no peace.
und trösten mein Volk in ihrem Unglück, daß sie es gering achten sollen, und sagen: “Friede! Friede!”, und ist doch nicht Friede.
12 They are confounded, because they have committed abomination: yea rather they are not confounded with confusion, and they have not know how to blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall; in the time of their visitation they shall fall, saith the Lord.
Darum werden sie mit Schanden bestehen, daß sie solche Greuel treiben; wiewohl sie wollen ungeschändet sein und wollen sich nicht schämen. Darum müssen sie fallen auf einen Haufen; und wenn ich sie heimsuchen werde, sollen sie stürzen, spricht der HERR.
13 Gathering I will gather them together, saith the Lord, there is no grape on the vines, and there are no figs on the fig tree, the leaf is fallen: and I have given them the things that are passed away.
Ich will sie also ablesen, spricht der HERR, daß keine Trauben am Weinstock und keine Feigen am Feigenbaum bleiben, ja auch die Blätter wegfallen sollen; und was ich ihnen gegeben habe, das soll ihnen genommen werden.
14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fenced city, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and hath given us water of gall to drink: for we have sinned against the Lord.
Wo werden wir dann wohnen? Ja, sammelt euch dann und laßt uns in die festen Städte ziehen, daß wir daselbst umkommen. Denn der HERR, unser Gott, wird uns umkommen lassen und tränken mit einem bitteren Trunk, daß wir so gesündigt haben wider den HERRN.
15 We looked for peace and no good came: for a time of healing, and behold fear.
Wir hofften, es sollte Friede werden, so kommt nichts Gutes; wir hofften, wir sollten heil werden, aber siehe, so ist mehr Schaden da.
16 The snorting of his horse was heard from Dan, all the land was moved at the sound of the neighing of his warriors: and they came and devoured the land, and all that was in it: the city and its inhabitants.
Man hört ihre Rosse schnauben von Dan her; vom Wiehern ihrer Gäule erbebt das ganze Land. Und sie fahren daher und werden das Land auffressen mit allem, was darin ist, die Städte samt allen, die darin wohnen.
17 For behold I will send among you serpents, basilisks, against which there is no charm: and they shall bite you, saith the Lord.
Denn siehe, ich will Schlangen und Basilisken unter euch senden, die nicht zu beschwören sind; die sollen euch stechen, spricht der HERR.
18 My sorrow is above sorrow, my heart mourneth within me.
Was mag mich in meinem Jammer erquicken? Mein Herz ist krank.
19 Behold the voice of the daughter my people from a far country: Is not the Lord in Sion, or is not her king in her? why then have they provoked me to wrath with their idols, and strange vanities?
Siehe, die Tochter meines Volks wird schreien aus fernem Lande her: “Will denn er HERR nicht mehr Gott sein zu Zion, oder soll sie keinen König mehr haben?” Ja, warum haben sie mich so erzürnt durch ihre Bilder und fremde, unnütze Gottesdienste?
20 The harvest is passed, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
“Die Ernte ist vergangen, der Sommer ist dahin, und uns ist keine Hilfe gekommen.”
21 For the affliction of the daughter of my people I am afflicted, and made sorrowful, astonishment hath taken hold on me.
Mich jammert herzlich, daß mein Volk so verderbt ist; ich gräme mich und gehabe mich übel.
22 Is there no balm in Galaad? or is no physician there? Why then is not the wound of the daughter of my people closed?
Ist denn keine Salbe in Gilead, oder ist kein Arzt da? Warum ist denn die Tochter meines Volks nicht geheilt?
