Jeremiah 49
1 Against the children of Ammon. Thus saith the Lord: Hath Israel no sons? or hath he no heir? Why then hath Melchom inherited Gad: and his people dwelt in his cities?
Über die Kinder Ammon: So spricht der HERR: Hat Israel keine Kinder, oder hat es keinen Erben? Warum hat denn Malkam Gad geerbt und wohnt sein Volk in dessen Städten?
2 Therefore behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will cause the noise of war to be heard in Rabbath of the children of Ammon, and it shall be destroyed into a heap, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire, and Israel shall possess them that have possessed him, saith the Lord.
Darum siehe, es kommen Tage, spricht der HERR, da ich wider Rabba der Kinder Ammon Kriegslärm werde erschallen lassen, daß es zu einem Schutthaufen wird und seine Dörfer in Feuer aufgehen; und Israel soll seine Erben wieder beerben, spricht der HERR!
3 Howl, O Hesebon, for Hai is wasted. Cry, ye daughters of Rabbath, gird yourselves with haircloth: mourn and go about by the hedges: for Melchom shall be carried into captivity, his priests, and his princes together.
Heule, Hesbon; denn Ai ist zerstört! Schreiet, ihr Töchter Rabbas! Gürtet Säcke um, laufet klagend zwischen den Mauern umher; denn Malkam muß in die Verbannung wandern, seine Priester und seine Fürsten allzumal!
4 Why gloriest thou in the valleys? thy valley hath flowed away, O delicate daughter, that hast trusted in thy treasures, and hast said: Who shall come to me?
Was rühmst du dich der Täler? Dein Tal soll überfließen, du abtrünnige Tochter, die im Vertrauen auf ihre Schätze spricht: Wer sollte mir nahekommen?
5 Behold I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord God of hosts, from all that are round about thee: and you shall be scattered every one out of one another’s sight, neither shall there be any to gather together them that flee.
Siehe, ich will von allen Seiten her Schrecken über dich kommen lassen, spricht der Herr, der HERR der Heerscharen, und ihr sollt verjagt werden, ein jeder vor sich hin, und niemand wird die Flüchtlinge sammeln!
6 And afterwards I will cause the captives of the children of Ammon to return, saith the Lord.
Aber darnach will ich die Gefangenen der Kinder Ammon zurückbringen, spricht der HERR.
7 Against Edom. Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Theman? counsel is perished from her children: their wisdom is become unprofitable.
Über Edom: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ist denn keine Weisheit mehr zu Teman? Ist der Rat der Klugen abhanden gekommen? Ist ihre Weisheit ausgeschüttet?
8 Flee and turn your backs, go down into the deep hole, ye inhabitants of Dedan: for I have brought the destruction of Esau upon him, the time of his visitation.
Fliehet, kehret um, verkriechet euch in die Höhlen, ihr Bewohner von Dedan! Denn Esaus Verhängnis lasse ich über ihn kommen, die Zeit seiner Heimsuchung.
9 If grapegatherers had come to thee, would they not have left a bunch? if thieves in the night, they would have taken what was enough for them.
Wenn Winzer über dich kommen, werden sie nicht eine Nachlese übriglassen?, wenn Diebe des Nachts, so verderben sie, bis sie genug haben!
10 But I have made Esau bare, I have revealed his secrets, and he cannot be hid: his seed is laid waste, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he shall not be.
Weil ich Esau bloßlege und aus seinen Schlupfwinkeln hervorziehe, also daß er sich nicht länger verbergen kann, so wird sein Same samt seinen Brüdern und Nachbarn vertilgt werden, und es wird nichts mehr vorhanden sein.
11 Leave thy fatherless children: I will make them live: and thy widows shall hope in me.
Laß nur deine Waisen! Ich will sie am Leben erhalten, und deine Witwen mögen auf mich vertrauen!
12 For thus saith the Lord: Behold they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup, shall certainly drink: and shalt thou come off as innocent? thou shalt not come off as innocent, but drinking thou shalt drink.
Denn so spricht der HERR: Siehe, die, welche nicht dazu verurteilt waren, den Kelch zu trinken, müssen dennoch trinken; und du solltest ungestraft bleiben? Nein, du bleibst nicht ungestraft, sondern du mußt gewiß auch trinken!
13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the Lord, that Bosra shall become a desolation, and a reproach, and a desert, and a curse: and all her cities shall be everlasting wastes.
Denn ich habe bei mir selbst geschworen, spricht der HERR, daß Bozra zu einer verwüsteten, beschimpften, versengten und verfluchten Stätte werden soll, ja, alle ihre Städte sollen zu ewigen Trümmern werden.
14 I have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent to the nations: Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and let us rise up to battle.
Ich habe eine Kunde vernommen von dem HERRN, es ist ein Bote zu den Heiden gesandt worden: Versammelt euch und ziehet wider sie und stehet auf zum Streit!
15 For behold I have made thee a little one among the nations, despicable among men.
Denn siehe, ich mache dich klein unter den Heiden, verachtet unter den Menschen!
16 Thy arrogancy hath deceived thee, and the pride of thy heart: O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, and endeavourest to lay hold on the height of the hill: but though thou shouldst make thy nest as high as an eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.
Weil man dich fürchtete, so erhobst du dich im Übermut deines Herzens, du, der du in Felsschluchten wohnst und dich auf Bergeshöhen aufhältst! Wenn du aber auch dein Nest so hoch bautest wie ein Adler, so werde ich dich dennoch von dort hinunterstürzen, spricht der HERR.
17 And Edom shall be desolate: every one that shall pass by it, shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all its plagues.
Und Edom soll zum Entsetzen werden; wer daran vorübergeht, wird sich entsetzen und zischen ob all ihren Plagen.
18 As Sodom was overthrown and Gomorrha, and the neighbours thereof, saith the Lord: there shall not a man dwell there, and there shall no son of man inhabit it.
Wie Sodom und Gomorra samt ihren Nachbarstädten umgekehrt worden sind, spricht der HERR, so wird auch dort niemand mehr wohnen und kein Menschenkind sich daselbst aufhalten.
19 Behold one shall come up as a lion from the swelling of the Jordan, against the strong and beautiful: for I will make him run suddenly upon her: and who shall be the chosen one whom I may appoint over her? for who is like to me? and who shall abide me? and who is that shepherd that can withstand my countenance?
Siehe, wie wenn ein Löwe heraufkommt von dem stolzen Jordan zu der immergrünen Weide, so plötzlich will ich sie von ihr weg vertreiben; und wer ist der Erwählte, den ich über sie setzen werde? Denn wer ist mir gleich, und wer ladet mich vor, oder welcher Hirte mag vor mir bestehen?
20 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, which he hath taken concerning Edom: and his thoughts which he hath thought concerning the inhabitants of Theman: surely the little ones of the flock shall cast them down, of a truth they shall destroy them with their habitation.
Darum höret den Rat des HERRN, den er über Edom gefaßt hat, und seine Gedanken über die Einwohner von Teman: Wahrlich, man wird sie wegschleppen, die Kleinsten der Herde! Wahrlich, ihre Aue wird sich über sie entsetzen!
21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall: the cry of their voice is heard in the Red Sea.
Vom Getöse ihres Falls wird die Erde erbeben; man hört am Schilfmeer den Widerhall von ihrem Geschrei.
22 Behold he shall come up as an eagle, and fly: and he shall spread his wings over Bosra: and in that day the heart of the valiant ones of Edom shall be as the heart of a woman in labour.
Siehe, wie ein Adler steigt er empor und breitet seine Flügel über Bozra aus! An jenem Tage wird das Herz der edomitischen Helden werden wie das Herz eines Weibes in Kindesnöten!
23 Against Damascus. Emath is confounded and Arphad: for they have heard very bad tidings, they are troubled as in the sea: through care they could not rest.
Über Damaskus: Hamat und Arpad sind schamrot geworden; denn sie haben eine böse Nachricht vernommen; sie sind fassungslos, voll Unruhe, dem Meere gleich, das nicht ruhig sein kann.
24 Damascus is undone, she is put to flight, trembling hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her as a woman in labour.
Damaskus ist mutlos geworden; es hat sich zur Flucht gewandt, Zittern hat es befallen, Angst und Wehen haben es ergriffen wie eine, die gebären soll.
25 How have they forsaken the city of renown, the city of joy!
Wie ist die gepriesene Stadt so verlassen, die Burg meiner Wonne!
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets: and all the men of war shall be silent in that day, saith the Lord of hosts.
Darum wird ihre junge Mannschaft auf ihren Gassen fallen, und alle streitbaren Männer sollen an jenem Tage vertilgt werden, spricht der HERR der Heerscharen;
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, rind it shall devour the strong holds of Benadad.
und ich will ein Feuer anzünden in den Mauern von Damaskus, das soll die Paläste Benhadads verzehren!
28 Against Cedar and against the kingdoms of Asor, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon destroyed. Thus saith the Lord: Arise, and go ye up to Cedar, and waste the children of the east.
Über Kedar und die Königreiche von Hazor, welche der babylonische König Nebukadnezar schlug, hat der HERR also gesprochen: Kommt, zieht herauf wider Kedar und vertilgt die Kinder des Morgenlandes!
29 They shall take their tents, and their flocks: and shall carry off for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels: and they shall call fear upon them round about.
Man wird ihre Zelte und Schafherden rauben, ihre Teppiche und alle ihre Geräte; auch ihre Kamele wird man ihnen nehmen; man wird über sie rufen:
30 Flee ye, get away speedily, sit in deep holes, you that inhabit Asur, saith the Lord: for Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived designs against you.
Schrecken ringsum! Fliehet, hebet euch eilends davon, verkriecht euch in die Höhlen, ihr Bewohner von Hazor! spricht der HERR; denn Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, hat etwas wider euch beschlossen und einen Plan gegen euch ausgeheckt:
31 Arise, and so up to a nation that is at ease, and that dwelleth securely, saith the Lord: they have neither gates, nor bars: they dwell alone.
Macht euch auf, ziehet zu Felde wider das sorglose Volk, das so sicher wohnt, spricht der HERR; sie haben weder Tore noch Riegel und wohnen für sich allein.
32 And their camels shall be for a spoil, and the multitude of their cattle for a booty, and I will scatter into every wind them that have their hair cut round, and I will bring destruction upon them from I all their confines, saith the Lord.
Ihre Kamele sollen zum Raub und ihre vielen Herden zur Beute werden, und ich will sie, die sich den Bart stutzen, nach allen Winden zerstreuen und ihr Verhängnis von allen Seiten hereinbrechen lassen, spricht der HERR.
33 And Asor shall be a habitation for dragons, desolate for ever: no man shall abide there, nor son of man inhabit it.
Also soll Hazor zur Wohnung der Schakale und zu einer ewigen Wüste werden, daß niemand daselbst wohnen und kein Menschenkind sich dort aufhalten wird!
34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremias the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Sedecias king of Juda, saying:
Das Wort des HERRN über Elam, welches an den Propheten Jeremia erging, im Anfang der Regierung Zedekias, des Königs von Juda, lautet also:
35 Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold I will break the bow of Elam, and their chief strength.
So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Siehe, ich will den Bogen Elams zerbrechen, seine vornehmste Stärke,
36 And I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the fear quarters of heaven: and I will scatter them into all these winds: and there shall be no nation, to which the fugitives of Elam shall not come.
und will über Elam die vier Winde kommen lassen von den vier Himmelsgegenden und sie nach allen diesen Windrichtungen zerstreuen, also daß es kein Volk geben wird, wohin nicht elamitische Flüchtlinge kommen.
37 And I will cause Elam to be afraid before their enemies, and in the sight of them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, my fierce wrath, saith the Lord: and will send the sword after them, till I consume them.
Und ich will den Elamitern Schrecken einjagen vor ihren Feinden und vor denen, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten, und will das Schwert hinter ihnen her schicken, bis ich sie aufgerieben habe, spricht der HERR.
38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and destroy kings and princes from thence, saith the Lord.
Und ich will meinen Thron in Elam aufstellen und will den König und die Fürsten daraus vertilgen, spricht der HERR.
39 But in the latter days I will cause the captives of Elam, to return, saith the Lord.
Aber in den letzten Tagen will ich Elams Gefangenschaft wenden, spricht der HERR.
