Jeremiah 22

1 Thus saith the Lord: Go down to the house of the king of Juda, and there thou shalt speak this word,

۱ خداوند چنین گفت: «به خانه پادشاه یهودا فرود آی و در آنجا به این کلام متکلم شو

2 And thou shalt say: Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Juda, that sittest upon the throne of David: thou and thy servants, and thy people, who enter in by these gates.

۲ و بگو: ای پادشاه یهودا که بر کرسی داود نشسته‌ای، تو و بندگانت و قومت که به این دروازه‌ها داخل می‌شوید کلام خداوند را بشنوید:

3 Thus saith the Lord: Execute judgement and justice, and deliver him that is oppressed out of the hand of the oppressor: and afflict not the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, nor oppress them unjustly: and shed not innocent blood in this place.

۳ خداوند چنین می‌گوید: انصاف وعدالت را اجرا دارید و مغصوبان را از دست ظالمان برهانید و بر غربا و یتیمان و بیوه‌زنان ستم و جور منمایید و خون بی‌گناهان را در این مکان مریزید.

4 For if you will do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house, kings of the race of David sitting upon his throne, and riding in chariots and on horses, they and their servants, and their people.

۴ زیرا اگر این کار را بجا آورید هماناپادشاهانی که بر کرسی داود بنشینند، ازدروازه های این خانه داخل خواهند شد و هر یک با بندگان و قوم خود بر ارابه‌ها و اسبان سوارخواهند گردید.

5 But if you will not hearken to these words: I swear by myself, saith the Lord, that this house shall become a desolation.

۵ اما اگر این سخنان را نشنویدخداوند می‌گوید که به ذات خود قسم خوردم که این خانه خراب خواهد شد.

6 For thus saith the Lord to the house of the king of Juda: Thou art to me Galaad the head of Libanus: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities not habitable.

۶ زیرا خداونددرباره خاندان پادشاه یهودا چنین می‌گوید: اگرچه تو نزد من جلعاد و قله لبنان می‌باشی لیکن من تو را به بیابان و شهرهای غیرمسکون مبدل خواهم ساخت.

7 And I will prepare against thee the destroyer and his weapons: and they shall cut down thy chosen cedars, and shall cast them headlong into the fire.

۷ و بر تو خراب کنندگان که هریک با آلاتش باشد معین می‌کنم و ایشان بهترین سروهای آزاد تو را قطع نموده، به آتش خواهندافکند.

8 And many nations shall pass by this city: and they shall say every man to his neighbor: Why hath the Lord done so to this great city?

۸ و امت های بسیار چون از این شهر عبورنمایند به یکدیگر خواهند گفت که خداوند به این شهر عظیم چرا چنین کرده است.

9 And they shall answer: Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and have adored strange gods, and served them.

۹ و جواب خواهند داد از این سبب که عهد یهوه خدای خودرا ترک کردند و خدایان غیر را سجده و عبادت نمودند.

10 Weep not for him that is dead, nor bemoan him with your tears: lament him that goeth away, for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

۱۰ «برای مرده گریه منمایید و برای او ماتم مگیرید. زارزار بگریید برای او که می‌رود زیرا که دیگر مراجعت نخواهد کرد و زمین مولد خویش را نخواهد دید.

11 For thus saith the Lord to Sellum the son of Josias the king of Juda, who reigned instead of his father, who went forth out of this place: He shall return hither no more:

۱۱ زیرا خداوند درباره شلوم بن یوشیا پادشاه یهودا که بجای پدر خود یوشیاپادشاه شده و از این مکان بیرون رفته است چنین می گوید که دیگر به اینجا برنخواهد گشت.

12 But in the place, to which I have removed him, there shall he die, and he shall not see this land any more.

۱۲ بلکه در مکانی که او را به اسیری برده اندخواهد مرد و این زمین را باز نخواهد دید.

13 Woe to him that buildeth up his house by injustice, and his chambers not in judgement: that will oppress his friend without cause, and will not pay him his wages.

۱۳ «وای بر آن کسی‌که خانه خود را به بی‌انصافی و کوشکهای خویش را به ناحق بنامی کند که از همسایه خود مجان خدمت می‌گیردو مزدش را به او نمی دهد.

14 Who saith: I will build me a wide house and large chambers: who openeth to himself windows, and maketh roofs of cedar, and painteth them with vermilion.

۱۴ که می‌گوید خانه وسیع و اطاقهای مروح برای خود بنا می‌کنم وپنجره‌ها برای خویشتن می‌شکافد و (سقف ) آن را از سرو آزاد می‌پوشاند و با شنجرف رنگ می‌کند.

15 Shalt thou reign, because thou comparest thyself to the cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and it was then well with him?

۱۵ آیا از این جهت که با سروهای آزادمکارمت می‌نمایی، سلطنت خواهی کرد؟ آیاپدرت اکل وشرب نمی نمود و انصاف و عدالت رابجا نمی آورد، آنگاه برایش سعادتمندی می‌بود؟

16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy for his own good: was it not therefore because he knew me, saith the Lord?

۱۶ فقیر و مسکین را دادرسی می‌نمود، آنگاه سعادتمندی می‌شد. مگر شناختن من این نیست؟ خداوند می‌گوید:

17 But thy eyes and thy heart are set upon covetousness, and upon shedding innocent blood, and upon oppression, and running after evil works.

۱۷ اما چشمان و دل تو نیست جز برای حرص خودت و برای ریختن خون بی‌گناهان و برای ظلم و ستم تا آنها را بجا آوری.

18 Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda: They shall not mourn for him, Alas, my brother, and Alas, sister: they shall not lament for him, Alas, my Lord, or, Alas, the noble one.

۱۸ بنابراین خداوند درباره یهویاقیم بن یوشیاپادشاه یهودا چنین می‌گوید: که برایش ماتم نخواهند گرفت و نخواهند گفت: آه‌ای برادر من یا آه‌ای خواهر و نوحه نخواهند کرد و نخواهندگفت: آه‌ای آقا یا آه‌ای جلال وی.

19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, rotten and cast forth without the gates of Jerusalem.

۱۹ کشیده شده و بیرون از دروازه های اورشلیم بجای دورانداخته شده به دفن الاغ مدفون خواهد گردید.

20 Go up to Libanus, and cry: and lift up thy voice in Basan, and cry to them that pass by, for all thy lovers are destroyed.

۲۰ «به فراز لبنان برآمده، فریاد برآور و آوازخود را در باشان بلندکن. و از عباریم فریاد کن زیرا که جمیع دوستانت تلف شده‌اند.

21 I spoke to thee in thy properity: and thou saidst: I will not hear: this hath been thy way from thy youth, because thou hast not heard my voice.

۲۱ در حین سعادتمندی تو به تو سخن گفتم، اما گفتی گوش نخواهم گرفت. همین از طفولیتت عادت تو بوده است که به آواز من گوش ندهی.

22 The wind shall feed all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: and then shalt thou be confounded, and ashamed of all thy wickedness.

۲۲ باد تمامی شبانانت را خواهد چرانید و دوستانت به اسیری خواهند رفت. پس در آن وقت به‌سبب تمامی شرارتت خجل و رسوا خواهی شد.

23 Thou that sittest in Libanus, and makest thy nest in the cedars, how hast thou mourned when sorrows came upon thee, as the pains of a woman in labour?

۲۳ ‌ای که درلبنان ساکن هستی و آشیانه خویش را درسروهای آزاد می‌سازی! هنگامی که المها و دردمثل زنی که می‌زاید تو را فرو‌گیرد چه قدر بر توافسوس خواهند کرد؟

24 As I live, saith the Lord, if Jechonias the son of Joakim the king of Juda were a ring on my right hand, I would pluck him thence.

۲۴ یهوه می‌گوید: به حیات من قسم که اگر‌چه کنیاهو ابن یهویاقیم پادشاه یهودا خاتم بر دست راست من می‌بود هرآینه تو را از آنجا می‌کندم.

25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, and into the hand of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

۲۵ و تو را به‌دست آنانی که قصد جان تو دارند و به‌دست آنانی که ازایشان ترسانی و به‌دست نبوکدرصر پادشاه بابل وبه‌دست کلدانیان تسلیم خواهم نمود.

26 And I will send thee, and thy mother that bore thee, into a strange country, in which you were not born, and there you shall die:

۲۶ و تو ومادر تو را که تو را زایید، به زمین غریبی که در آن تولد نیافتید خواهم‌انداخت که در آنجا خواهیدمرد.

27 And they shall not return into the land, whereunto they lift up their mind to return thither.

۲۷ اما به زمینی که ایشان بسیار آرزو دارند که به آن برگردند مراجعت نخواهند نمود.»

28 Is this man Jechonias an earthen and a broken vessel? is he a vessel wherein there is no pleasure? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

۲۸ آیا این مرد کنیاهو ظرفی خوار شکسته می‌باشد و یا ظرفی ناپسندیده است؟ چرا او بااولادش به زمینی که آن را نمی شناسند انداخته وافکنده شده‌اند؟

29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord.

۲۹ ‌ای زمین‌ای زمین‌ای زمین، کلام خداوند رابشنو!

30 Thus saith the Lord: Write this man barren, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for there shall not be a man of his seed that shall sit upon the throne of David, and have power any more in Juda.

۳۰ خداوند چنین می‌فرماید: «این شخص را بی‌اولاد و کسی‌که در روزگار خود کامیاب نخواهد شد بنویس، زیرا که هیچکس از ذریت وی کامیاب نخواهد شد و بر کرسی داود نخواهدنشست، و بار دیگر در یهودا سلطنت نخواهد نمود.»
