James 3
1 Be ye not many masters, my brethren, knowing that you receive the greater judgment.
હે મમ ભ્રાતરઃ, શિક્ષકૈરસ્માભિ ર્ગુરુતરદણ્ડો લપ્સ્યત ઇતિ જ્ઞાત્વા યૂયમ્ અનેકે શિક્ષકા મા ભવત|
2 For in many things we all offend. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man. He is able also with a bridle to lead about the whole body.
યતઃ સર્વ્વે વયં બહુવિષયેષુ સ્ખલામઃ, યઃ કશ્ચિદ્ વાક્યે ન સ્ખલતિ સ સિદ્ધપુરુષઃ કૃત્સ્નં વશીકર્ત્તું સમર્થશ્ચાસ્તિ|
3 For if we put bits into the mouths of horses, that they may obey us, and we turn about their whole body.
પશ્યત વયમ્ અશ્વાન્ વશીકર્ત્તું તેષાં વક્ત્રેષુ ખલીનાન્ નિધાય તેષાં કૃત્સ્નં શરીરમ્ અનુવર્ત્તયામઃ|
4 Behold also ships, whereas they are great, and are driven by strong winds, yet are they turned about with a small helm, whithersoever the force of the governor willeth.
પશ્યત યે પોતા અતીવ બૃહદાકારાઃ પ્રચણ્ડવાતૈશ્ચ ચાલિતાસ્તેઽપિ કર્ણધારસ્ય મનોઽભિમતાદ્ અતિક્ષુદ્રેણ કર્ણેન વાઞ્છિતં સ્થાનં પ્રત્યનુવર્ત્તન્તે|
5 Even so the tongue is indeed a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold how small a fire kindleth a great wood.
તદ્વદ્ રસનાપિ ક્ષુદ્રતરાઙ્ગં સન્તી દર્પવાક્યાનિ ભાષતે| પશ્ય કીદૃઙ્મહારણ્યં દહ્યતે ઽલ્પેન વહ્નિના|
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is placed among our members, which defileth the whole body, and inflameth the wheel of our nativity, being set on fire by hell. (Geenna g1067)
રસનાપિ ભવેદ્ વહ્નિરધર્મ્મરૂપપિષ્ટપે| અસ્મદઙ્ગેષુ રસના તાદૃશં સન્તિષ્ઠતિ સા કૃત્સ્નં દેહં કલઙ્કયતિ સૃષ્ટિરથસ્ય ચક્રં પ્રજ્વલયતિ નરકાનલેન જ્વલતિ ચ| (Geenna g1067)
7 For every nature of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of the rest, is tamed, and hath been tamed, by the nature of man:
પશુપક્ષ્યુરોગજલચરાણાં સર્વ્વેષાં સ્વભાવો દમયિતું શક્યતે માનુષિકસ્વભાવેન દમયાઞ્ચક્રે ચ|
8 But the tongue no man can tame, an unquiet evil, full of deadly poison.
કિન્તુ માનવાનાં કેનાપિ જિહ્વા દમયિતું ન શક્યતે સા ન નિવાર્ય્યમ્ અનિષ્ટં હલાહલવિષેણ પૂર્ણા ચ|
9 By it we bless God and the Father: and by it we curse men, who are made after the likeness of God.
તયા વયં પિતરમ્ ઈશ્વરં ધન્યં વદામઃ, તયા ચેશ્વરસ્ય સાદૃશ્યે સૃષ્ટાન્ માનવાન્ શપામઃ|
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
એકસ્માદ્ વદનાદ્ ધન્યવાદશાપૌ નિર્ગચ્છતઃ| હે મમ ભ્રાતરઃ, એતાદૃશં ન કર્ત્તવ્યં|
11 Doth a fountain send forth, out of the same hole, sweet and bitter water?
પ્રસ્રવણઃ કિમ્ એકસ્માત્ છિદ્રાત્ મિષ્ટં તિક્તઞ્ચ તોયં નિર્ગમયતિ?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear grapes; or the vine, figs? So neither can the salt water yield sweet.
હે મમ ભ્રાતરઃ, ઉડુમ્બરતરુઃ કિં જિતફલાનિ દ્રાક્ષાલતા વા કિમ્ ઉડુમ્બરફલાનિ ફલિતું શક્નોતિ? તદ્વદ્ એકઃ પ્રસ્રવણો લવણમિષ્ટે તોયે નિર્ગમયિતું ન શક્નોતિ|
13 Who is a wise man, and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew, by a good conversation, his work in the meekness of wisdom.
યુષ્માકં મધ્યે જ્ઞાની સુબોધશ્ચ ક આસ્તે? તસ્ય કર્મ્માણિ જ્ઞાનમૂલકમૃદુતાયુક્તાનીતિ સદાચારાત્ સ પ્રમાણયતુ|
14 But if you have bitter zeal, and there be contentions in your hearts; glory not, and be not liars against the truth.
કિન્તુ યુષ્મદન્તઃકરણમધ્યે યદિ તિક્તેર્ષ્યા વિવાદેચ્છા ચ વિદ્યતે તર્હિ સત્યમતસ્ય વિરુદ્ધં ન શ્લાઘધ્વં નચાનૃતં કથયત|
15 For this is not wisdom, descending from above: but earthly, sensual, devilish.
તાદૃશં જ્ઞાનમ્ ઊર્દ્ધ્વાદ્ આગતં નહિ કિન્તુ પાર્થિવં શરીરિ ભૌતિકઞ્ચ|
16 For where envying and contention is, there is inconstancy, and every evil work.
યતો હેતોરીર્ષ્યા વિવાદેચ્છા ચ યત્ર વેદ્યેતે તત્રૈવ કલહઃ સર્વ્વં દુષ્કૃતઞ્ચ વિદ્યતે|
17 But the wisdom, that is from above, first indeed is chaste, then peaceable, modest, easy to be persuaded, consenting to the good, full of mercy and good fruits, without judging, without dissimulation.
કિન્તૂર્દ્ધ્વાદ્ આગતં યત્ જ્ઞાનં તત્ પ્રથમં શુચિ તતઃ પરં શાન્તં ક્ષાન્તમ્ આશુસન્ધેયં દયાદિસત્ફલૈઃ પરિપૂર્ણમ્ અસન્દિગ્ધં નિષ્કપટઞ્ચ ભવતિ|
18 And the fruit of justice is sown in peace, to them that make peace.
શાન્ત્યાચારિભિઃ શાન્ત્યા ધર્મ્મફલં રોપ્યતે|
