James 2
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with respect of persons.
Mobanse bame, pakuba ne lushomo muli Yesu Klistu Mwami walemekwa, kamutasalululanga kwelana mbuli muntu ncalabonekenga.
2 For if there shall come into your assembly a man having a golden ring, in fine apparel, and there shall come in also a poor man in mean attire,
Mwacilesho, muntu mubile wafwala byakufwala byadula wisa pamubungano, kayi neye muntu mukandu wafwala masempele wisa pamubungano.
3 And you have respect to him that is clothed with the fine apparel, and shall say to him: Sit thou here well; but say to the poor man: Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool:
Mupa bulemu muntu mubile wafwala cena, nekumwambileti, “Kwesa kuno wikale pacipuna cabulemu.” Nendi mukandu wafwala masempele mumwambileti, “Imana nanshi, nambi kwesa wikale panshi kumyendo yakame.”
4 Do you not judge within yourselves, and are become judges of unjust thoughts?
Kwinseco nikusalulula pakati penu, kayi nikombolosha kwashimpa pa miyeyo yaipa.
5 Hearken, my dearest brethren: hath not God chosen the poor in this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which God hath promised to them that love him?
Kamunyumfwani, mobanse bame, Lesa walasala bantu bakute kuboneketi bakandu pamenso abantu bamucishici, kwambeti babe babile mulushomo, kayi kwambeti bakatambule Bwami Lesa mbwalashomesha bamusuni.
6 But you have dishonoured the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you by might? and do not they draw you before the judgment seats?
Nomba amwe mulasampulunga bakandu! Anu nibani balamutyankilinga panshi nekumukwekweshela ku nkuta? Sena ntebo babile?
7 Do not they blaspheme the good name that is invoked upon you?
Sena ntebo bamobamo balasampulunga Lina lyalemekwa lya Klistu ilyo ndyomwinga kukwiwa?
8 If then you fulfill the royal law, according to the scriptures, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself; you do well.
Ingaciba cena nakamwinsa calulama mwanyumfwilanga mulawo unene wa Bwami bwa Lesa, ukute kucanika mu Mabala, ulambangeti, “Suna munobe mbuli ncolisuni.”
9 But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, being reproved by the law as transgressors.
Nomba mwasalululanga okwambeti mulepishinga, kayi Milawo ya Lesa ikute kumutoteka kwambeti mulapwaya Mulawo.
10 And whosoever shall keep the whole law, but offend in one point, is become guilty of all.
Muntu lakonkelenga Milawo apwayapo umo, okwambeti lapwaya yonse.
11 For he that said, Thou shalt not commit adultery, said also, Thou shalt not kill. Now if thou do not commit adultery, but shalt kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Pakwinga Lesa walambeti, “Kotapombola,” Kayi walambeti, “Kotashina.” Lino na nkamupombolo, nomba kwalo kushina kamushina, ekwambeti mulapwaya Mila.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as being to be judged by the law of liberty.
Lino amwe kamwambanga nekwinsa bintu mbulyeti bantu beti bakomboloshewe ne Lesa pakukonka Mulawo ulapanga kusunguluka.
13 For judgment without mercy to him that hath not done mercy. And mercy exalteth itself above judgment.
Muntu lomboloshonga mwakubula nkumbo, neye Lesa nakamomboloshe mwakubula nkumbo. Nomba wankumbo uliya cebo ncelela kutinina lombolosho lwa Lesa.
14 What shall it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but hath not works? Shall faith be able to save him?
Mobanse bame, caina nicipeyo, na muntu wambeti, “Nkute lushomo,” Sena lushomo lulico lwabula ncito ngalumupulusha?
15 And if a brother or sister be naked, and want daily food:
Mwacilesho, mwanse mutuloba nambi mutukashi wabula byakufwala, kayi wabula cakulya camukwanina masuba onse,
16 And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit?
Lino umo pakati penu umwambileti, “Kamuyani mulumuno, muye mulungulilwe nekwikuta” Mubula kumunyamfwako bintu mbyabulilwa, nilunyamfo cini ndomulamunyamfwa?
17 So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
Neco lushomo palonka lwabula ncito lwafwa.
18 But some man will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without works; and I will shew thee, by works, my faith.
Mpani umbi ngawambeti, “Amwe mukute lushomo, ame nkute ncito shaina.” Ame ndimukumbuleti, “Kondesha Lushomo lwakobe lwabula ncito, ame ndikuleshe lushomo lwakame lukute ncito.”
19 Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble.
Sena mwashometi pali Lesa umowa? Ee nicakubinga! Nayo mishimu yaipa yashoma kayi ikute kututuma.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Obe muluya! Ulayandanga bumboni bwakwambeti lushomo lwabula ncito nilwabulyo?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar?
Ntepasa Abulahamu, mushali wetu walaba walulama pamenso a Lesa cebo ca ncito nshalikwinsa ntepasa walabenga Isake mwanendi pa nteme?
22 Seest thou, that faith did co-operate with his works; and by works faith was made perfect?
Apa ulabono kwambeti lushomo lukute kwendela pamo ne ncito. Ncito shakendi shalasandula lushomo lwakendi kwambeti lushike mpolwalikuyandika.
23 And the scripture was fulfilled, saying: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him to justice, and he was called the friend of God.
Munshila ilico byonse byalikwamba Mabala byakwambeti, “Abulahamu walashoma Lesa, ecalapeti Lesa amuboneti walulama” Ecebo cakendi walakwiweti, munendi Lesa.
24 Do you see that by works a man is justified; and not by faith only?
Mulaboneti, ncito shakendi muntu eshikute kupesheti abe walulama pamenso pa Lesa, ntelo lushomo lonka sobwe.
25 And in like manner also Rahab the harlot, was not she justified by works, receiving the messengers, and sending them out another way?
Ntepasa kayi calenshika kuli Lahabi mutukashi mupombo, neye walabatambula cena basa beshikwena cishi baci Islayeli, walabapulusha ne kubambileti bapite kanshila mbali pakubwelela kwabo, walacaniketi walulama pamenso a Lesa, cebo cabintu mbyalensa.
26 For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead.
Lino mbuli mubili wabula mushimu wafwa, nalo lushomo lwabula ncito lwafwa.
