< Isaiah 59 >
1 Behold the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is his ear heavy that it cannot hear.
Lódodo ọwọ́ Olúwa kò kúrú láti gbàlà, tàbí kí etí rẹ̀ wúwo láti gbọ́.
2 But your iniquities have divided between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you that he should not hear.
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín ló ti yà yín kúrò lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run yín; ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín ti fi ojú u rẹ̀ pamọ́ fún un yín tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí òun kò fi le gbọ́.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity: your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue uttereth iniquity.
Nítorí ọwọ́ yín di aláìmọ́ fún ẹ̀jẹ̀, àti ìka ọwọ́ yín fún ẹ̀bi. Ètè yín ń pa irọ́ púpọ̀, ahọ́n yín sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ nǹkan ibi.
4 There is none that calleth upon justice, neither is there any one that judgeth truly: but they trust in a mere nothing, and speak vanities: they have conceived labour, and brought forth iniquity.
Kò sí ẹni tí ó béèrè fún ìdájọ́ òdodo; kò sí ẹni tí ó ro ẹjọ́ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú òtítọ́. Wọ́n gbẹ́kẹ̀lé àwíjàre asán àti ọ̀rọ̀ irọ́; wọ́n lóyún ìkà, wọn sì bí wàhálà.
5 They have broken the eggs of asps, and have woven the webs of spiders: he that shall eat of their eggs, shall die: and that which is brought out, shall be hatched into a basilisk.
Wọn ń pa ẹ̀yin paramọ́lẹ̀ wọn sì ń ta owú aláǹtakùn. Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá jẹ ẹyin wọn yóò kú, àti nígbà tí a pa ọ̀kan, paramọ́lẹ̀ ni ó jáde.
6 Their webs shall not be for clothing, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are unprofitable works, and the work of iniquity is in their hands.
Òwú wọn kò wúlò fún aṣọ rírán; wọn kò lè fi aṣọ tí wọ́n hun bo ara wọn. Iṣẹ́ wọn jẹ́ ti ibi, ìwà jàǹdùkú sì kún ọwọ́ wọn.
7 Their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are unprofitable thoughts: wasting and destruction are in their ways.
Ẹsẹ̀ wọn yára bọ́ sínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀; wọ́n yára láti ta ẹ̀jẹ̀ aláìṣẹ̀ sílẹ̀. Èrò wọn sì jẹ́ èrò ibi; ìparun àti ìdahoro ni ó wà ní ṣíṣe àmì ọ̀nà wọn.
8 They have not known the way of peace, and there is no judgment in their steps: their paths are become crooked to them, every one that treadeth in them, knoweth no peace.
Ọ̀nà àlàáfíà èyí ni wọn kò mọ̀; kò sí òdodo ní ojú ọ̀nà wọn wọ́n ti sọ wọ́n dì ọ̀nà kọ́rọkọ̀rọ, kò sí ẹni tí ó tọ ọ̀nà yìí tí yóò rí àlàáfíà.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, and justice shall not overtake us. We looked for light, and behold darkness: brightness, and we have walked in the dark.
Nítorí èyí ni ẹ̀tọ́ fi jìnnà sí wa, àti tí òdodo kò fi tẹ̀ wá lọ́wọ́. A ń wá ìmọ́lẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo rẹ̀ jẹ́ òkùnkùn; ìmọ́lẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n à ń rìn nínú òjìji.
10 We have groped for the wall, and like the blind we have groped as if we had no eyes: we have stumbled at noonday as in darkness, we are in dark places as dead men.
Gẹ́gẹ́ bí afọ́jú à ń táràrà lọ lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ ògiri tí a ń wá ọ̀nà wa gẹ́gẹ́ bí ènìyàn tí kò ní ojú. Ní ọ̀sán gangan ni à ń kọsẹ̀ bí ẹni pé alẹ́ ni; láàrín alágbára àwa dàbí òkú.
11 We shall roar all of us like bears, and shall lament as mournful doves. We have looked for judgment, and there is none: for salvation, and it is far from us.
Gbogbo wa là ń ké bí i beari; àwa pohùnréré ẹkún bí àdàbà. A ń wá ìdájọ́ òdodo ṣùgbọ́n kò sí; à ń wọ́nà fún ìtúsílẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ó jìnnà réré.
12 For our iniquities are multiplied before thee, and our sins have testified against us: for our wicked doings are with us, and we have known our iniquities:
Nítorí àwọn àṣìṣe wa pọ̀ níwájú rẹ, àwọn ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wa sì ń jẹ́rìí takò wá. Àwọn àìṣedéédéé wa sì wà pẹ̀lú wa, àwa pẹ̀lú sì mọ àìṣedéédéé wa,
13 In sinning and lying against the Lord: and we have turned away so that we went not after our God, but spoke calumny and transgression: we have conceived, and uttered from the heart, words of falsehood.
ọ̀tẹ̀ àti àrékérekè wa sí Olúwa, kíkọ ẹ̀yìn wa sí Ọlọ́run, dídá yánpọnyánrin àti ìnilára sílẹ̀, pípààrọ̀ tí ọkàn wa ti gbèrò síta.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice hath stood far off: because truth bath fallen down in the street, and equity could not come in.
Nítorí èyí ni a ṣe lé ìdájọ́ òdodo sẹ́yìn, àti ti òdodo dúró lókèèrè; òtítọ́ ti ṣubú ní òpópó ọ̀nà, òdodo kò sì le è wọlé.
15 And truth hath been forgotten: and he that departed from evil, lay open to be a prey: and the Lord saw, and it appeared evil in his eyes, because there is no judgment.
A kò rí òtítọ́ mọ́, àti ẹni tí ó bá sá fun ibi tì di ìjẹ. Olúwa wò ó ọkàn rẹ̀ sì bàjẹ́ pé kò sí ìdájọ́ òdodo.
16 And he saw that there is not a man: and he stood astonished, because there is none to oppose himself: and his own arm brought salvation to him, and his own justice supported him.
Òun rí i pé kò sí ẹnìkan, àyà fò ó pé kò sí ẹnìkan láti ṣèrànwọ́; nítorí apá òun tìkára rẹ̀ ló ṣiṣẹ́ ìgbàlà fún ara rẹ̀, àti òdodo òun tìkára rẹ̀ ló gbé e ró.
17 He put on justice as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head: he put on the garments of vengeance, and was clad with zeal as with a cloak.
Ó gbé òdodo wọ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìgbàyà rẹ̀, àti àṣíborí ìgbàlà ní orí rẹ̀; ó gbé ẹ̀wù ẹ̀san wọ̀ ó sì yí ara rẹ̀ ní ìtara bí ẹ̀wù.
18 As unto revenge, as it were to repay wrath to his adversaries, and a reward to his enemies: he will repay the like to the islands.
Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun tí wọ́n ti ṣe, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni yóò san án ìbínú fún àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀ àti ẹ̀san fún àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀; òun yóò san án fún àwọn erékùṣù ẹ̀tọ́ wọn.
19 And they from the west, shall fear the name of the Lord: and they from the rising of the sun, his glory: when he shall come as a violent stream, which the spirit of the Lord driveth on:
Láti ìwọ̀-oòrùn, àwọn ènìyàn yóò bẹ̀rù orúkọ Olúwa, àti láti ìlà-oòrùn, wọn yóò bọ̀wọ̀ fún ògo rẹ̀. Nítorí òun yóò wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí i rírú omi èyí tí èémí Olúwa ń tì lọ.
20 And there shall come a, redeemer to Sion, and to them that return from iniquity in Jacob, saith the Lord.
“Olùdáǹdè yóò wá sí Sioni, sí àwọn tí ó wà ní Jakọbu tí ó ronúpìwàdà ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn,” ni Olúwa wí.
21 This is my covenant with them, saith the Lord: My spirit that is in thee, and my words that I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
“Àti fún èmi, májẹ̀mú mi pẹ̀lú wọn nìyìí,” ni Olúwa wí, “Ẹ̀mí mi, tí ó wà nínú yín, àti ọ̀rọ̀ mi tí mo ti fi sí ẹnu yín, kì yóò kúrò lẹ́nu yín, tàbí lẹ́nu àwọn ọmọ yín, tàbí láti ẹnu àwọn ìrandíran wọn láti àkókò yìí lọ àti títí láéláé,” ni Olúwa wí.
