Isaiah 25
1 O Lord, thou art my God, I will exalt thee, and give glory to thy name: for thou hast done wonderful things, thy designs of old faithful, amen.
হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমিই আমার ঈশ্বর; আমি তোমার নাম উঁচুতে তুলে ধরব ও তোমার নামের প্রশংসা করব, কারণ নিখুঁত বিশ্বস্ততায়, তুমি বিস্ময়কর সব কাজ করেছ, যেগুলির পরিকল্পনা তুমি বহুপূর্বেই করেছিলে।
2 For thou hast reduced the city to a heap, the strong city to ruin, the house of strangers, to be no city, and to be no more built up for ever.
তুমি নগরকে এক পাথরের ঢিবিতে এবং সুরক্ষিত নগরীকে এক ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত করেছ, বিদেশিদের দুর্গ আর নগর নয়; তা আর কখনও পুনর্নির্মিত হবে না।
3 Therefore shall a strong people praise thee, the city of mighty nations shall fear thee.
সেই কারণে, শক্তিশালী লোকেরা তোমাকে সম্মান করবে; নির্মম জাতিদের নগরগুলি তোমার প্রতি সম্ভ্রম প্রদর্শন করবে।
4 Because thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress: a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the blast of the mighty is like a whirlwind beating against a wall.
তুমি দরিদ্রদের জন্য এক আশ্রয়স্থান হয়েছ, দুর্দশায় হয়েছ নিঃস্ব ব্যক্তির শরণস্থান, প্রবল ঝড়ে রক্ষা পাওয়ার জায়গা ও উত্তাপ থেকে রক্ষা পাওয়ার ছায়াসদৃশ। কারণ নির্মম ব্যক্তিদের শ্বাসপ্রশ্বাস, যেমন কোনো দেওয়ালে প্রতিহত হওয়া হল্কার মতো
5 Thou shalt bring down the tumult of strangers, as heat in thirst: and as with heat under a burning cloud, thou shalt make the branch of the mighty to wither away.
এবং যেন মরুভূমির উত্তাপের মতো। তুমি বিদেশিদের চিৎকার থামিয়ে থাকো; যেমন মেঘের ছায়ায় উত্তাপ কমে আসে, সেভাবেই নির্মম লোকদের গীত স্তব্ধ হয়েছে।
6 And the Lord of hosts shall make unto all people in this mountain, a feast of fat things, a feast of wine, of fat things full of marrow, of wine purified from the lees.
এই পর্বতের উপরে সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু প্রস্তুত করবেন সমস্ত জাতির জন্য উৎকৃষ্ট খাদ্যের মহাভোজ, পুরোনো দ্রাক্ষারসের এক পানসভা, সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট মাংস ও উৎকৃষ্টতম দ্রাক্ষারস সমন্বিত ভোজ।
7 And he shall destroy in this mountain the face of the bond with which all people were tied, and the web that he began over all nations.
এই পর্বতের উপরে তিনি ধ্বংস করবেন সব জাতিকে ঢেকে রাখা সেই চাদর, সেই আচ্ছাদন, যা সব জাতিকে রেখেছিল আবৃত;
8 He shall cast death down headlong for ever: and the Lord God shall wipe away tears from every face, and the reproach of his people he shall take away from off the whole earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
তিনি চিরকালের জন্য মৃত্যুকে গ্রাস করবেন। সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু সকলের মুখ থেকে চোখের জল মুছিয়ে দেবেন; তিনি সমস্ত পৃথিবী থেকে তাঁর প্রজাদের দুর্নাম ঘুচিয়ে দেবেন। সদাপ্রভু একথা বলেছেন।
9 And they shall say in that day: Lo, this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord, we have patiently waited for him, we shall rejoice and be joyfull in his salvation.
সেদিন তারা বলবে, “নিশ্চয়ই ইনিই আমাদের ঈশ্বর; আমরা তাঁর উপরে আস্থা রেখেছি, আর তিনি আমাদের রক্ষা করেছেন। ইনিই সদাপ্রভু, আমরা তাঁর উপরে বিশ্বাস করেছি; এসো আমরা তাঁর দেওয়া পরিত্রাণে আনন্দ করি ও উল্লসিত হই।”
10 For the hand of the Lord shall rest in this mountain: and Moab shall be trodden down under him, as straw is broken in pieces with the wain.
সদাপ্রভুর হাত এই পর্বতের উপরে স্থির থাকবে; কিন্তু মোয়াবকে তাঁর নিচে তিনি পদদলিত করবেন যেমন সারের মধ্যে খড় পদদলিত করা হয়।
11 And he shall stretch forth his hands under him, as he that swimmeth stretcheth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down his glory with the dashing of his hands.
তারা এর উপরে তাদের হাত প্রসারিত করবে, যেভাবে সাঁতারু সাঁতার কাটার জন্য হাত প্রসারিত করে। ঈশ্বর তাদের অহংকার অবনমিত করবেন যদিও তাদের হাত চতুরতার চেষ্টা করে।
12 And the bulwarks of thy high walls shall fall, and be brought low, and shall be pulled down to the ground, even to the dust.
তিনি তোমার উঁচু প্রাচীর সমন্বিত দৃঢ় দুর্গকে ভেঙে ফেলে ধ্বংস করবেন; তিনি সেগুলি মাটিতে নামিয়ে আনবেন, ধূলিসাৎ করবেন।
