Isaiah 19
1 The burden of Egypt. Behold the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud, and will enter into Egypt, and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.
Revelação sobre o Egito: Eis que o SENHOR vem montado numa veloz nuvem, e ele virá ao Egito; e os ídolos do Egito tremerão perante sua presença; e o coração dos egípcios se derreterá dentro de si;
2 And I will set the Egyptians to fight against the Egyptians: and they shall fight brother against brother, and friend against friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
Porque instigarei egípcios contra egípcios, e cada um lutará contra seu irmão, e cada um contra seu próximo; cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.
3 And the spirit of Egypt shall be broken in the bowels thereof, and I will cast down their counsel: and they shall consult their idols, and their diviners, and their wizards, and soothsayers.
E o espírito dos egípcios se esvaziará dentro de si, e destruirei seu conselho; então eles perguntarão ao ídolos, encantadores, adivinhos que consultam espíritos de mortos, e feiticeiros.
4 And I will deliver Egypt into the hand of cruel masters, and a strong king shall rule over them, saith the Lord the God of hosts.
E entregarei os egípcios nas mãos de um duro senhor, e um rei rigoroso dominará sobre eles, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
5 And the water of the sea shall be dried up, and the river shall be wasted and dry.
E as águas do mar se acabarão; e o rio se esvaziará e se secará.
6 And the rivers shall fail: the streams of the banks shall be diminished, and be dried up. The reed and the bulrush shall wither away.
E os rios terão mau cheiro; os canais do Egito serão esvaziados e se secarão; as canas e os juncos murcharão.
7 The channel of the river shall be laid bare from its fountain, and every thing sown by the water shall be dried up, it shall wither away, and shall be no more.
A relva junto ao rio, junto às margens dos rio, e todas as plantações junto ao rio se secarão, serão removidas, e se perderão.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all that cast a hook into the river shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish away.
E os pescadores gemerão e todos os que lançam anzol no rio lamentarão; e os que estendem rede sobre as águas perderão o ânimo.
9 They shall be confounded that wrought in flax, combing and weaving fine linen.
E ficarão envergonhados os que trabalham com linho fino e os que tecem panos brancos.
10 And its watery places shall be dry, all they shall mourn that made pools to take fishes.
Os fundamentos serão quebrados, e os empregados sentirão aflição na alma.
11 The princes of Tanis are become fools, the wise counsellors of Pharao have given foolish counsel: how will you say to Pharao: I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
Na verdade, os príncipes de Zoã são uns tolos; o conselho dos “sábios” de Faraó se tornou imprudente. Como é que dizeis a Faraó: Sou filho de sábios, sou descendente dos antigos reis?
12 Where are now thy wise men? let them tell thee, and shew what the Lord of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
Onde estão agora os teus sábios? Avisem-te, pois, e informem o que o SENHOR dos exércitos determinou contra o Egito.
13 The princes of Tanis are become fools, the princes of Memphis are gone astray, they have deceived Egypt, the stay of the people thereof.
Os príncipes de Zoã se tornaram tolos, os príncipes de Nofe estão enganados; e o Egito será levado ao erro pelos [que são] pedra de esquina de suas tribos.
14 The Lord hath mingled in the midst thereof the spirit of giddiness: and they have caused Egypt to err in all its works, as a drunken man staggereth and vomiteth.
O SENHOR derramou um espírito de confusão em seu interior, e levaram o Egito a errar em toda a sua obra, tal como o bêbado que se revolve em seu vômito.
15 And there shall be no work for Egypt, to make head or tail, him that bendeth down, or that holdeth back.
E não haverá obra alguma que a cabeça ou a cauda, o ramo ou o junco, possa fazer para proveito do Egito.
16 In that day Egypt shall be like unto women, and they shall be amazed, and afraid, because of the moving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shall move over it.
Naquele dia os egípcios serão como mulheres; e tremerão e temerão por causa do mover da mão do SENHOR dos exércitos, que moverá contra eles.
17 And the land of Juda shall be a terror to Egypt: every one that shall remember it shall tremble because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined concerning it.
E a terra de Judá será um assombro ao egípcios; todo aquele que dela lhe mencionarem, terá medo dentro de si, por causa da determinação do SENHOR dos exércitos, que determinou contra eles.
18 In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt, speaking the language of Chanaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts: one shall be called the city of the sun.
Naquele dia haverá cinco cidades na terra do Egito que falem a língua de Canaã e prestem juramento ao SENHOR dos exércitos; uma delas será chamada Cidade da Destruição.
19 In that day there shall be an altar of the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a monument of the Lord at the borders thereof:
Naquele dia haverá um altar ao SENHOR no meio do Egito, e uma coluna ao SENHOR junto a sua fronteira.
20 It shall be for a sign, and for a testimony to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt. For they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressor, and he shall send them a Saviour and a defender to deliver them.
E isso servirá como sinal e como testemunho ao SENHOR dos exércitos na terra do Egito; pois clamarão ao SENHOR por causa de seus opressores, e ele lhes mandará um salvador e defensor que os livre.
21 And the Lord shall be known by Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall worship him with sacrifices and offerings: and they shall make vows to the Lord, and perform them.
E o SENHOR se fará conhecido no Egito, e os egípcios conhecerão ao SENHOR naquele dia; e eles o servirão [com] sacrifícios e ofertas, e farão votos ao SENHOR, e [os] cumprirão.
22 And the Lord shall strike Egypt with a scourge, and shall heal it, and they shall return to the Lord, and he shall be pacified towards them, and heal them.
E o SENHOR ferirá aos egípcios: ferirá mas [os] curará; e eles se converterão ao SENHOR, e ele aceitará suas orações, e os curará.
23 In that day there shall be a way from Egypt to the Assyrians, and the Assyrian shall enter into Egypt, and the Egyptian to the Assyrians, and the Egyptians shall serve the Assyrian.
Naquele dia haverá uma estrada do Egito à Assíria; e os assírios virão ao Egito, e os egípcios à Assíria; e os egípcios prestarão culto junto com os assírios.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third to the Egyptian and the Assyrian: a blessing in the midst of the land,
Naquele dia Israel será o terceiro entre o Egito e a Assíria, uma bênção no meio da terra;
25 Which the Lord of hosts hath blessed, saying: Blessed be my people of Egypt, and the work of my hands to the Assyrian: but Israel is my inheritance.
Porque o SENHOR dos exércitos os abençoará, dizendo: Bendito seja o meu povo do Egito, e a Assíria, obra de minhas mãos, e Israel, minha herança.
