< Hosea 8 >
1 Let there be a trumpet in thy throat like an eagle upon the house of the Lord: because they have transgressed my covenant, and have violated my law.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Ukya mwe ukuk in okasak acn uh! Mwet lokoalok pa tuhwi fin acn sik oana eagle uh! Mwet luk elos kunausla wulela nga tuh orala yorolos ac kisrung mwe luti luk.
2 They shall call upon me: O my God, we, Israel, know thee.
Elos finne pangon mu nga God lalos ac fahk mu elos mwet luk ac elos eteyu,
3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good, the enemy shall pursue him.
a elos likinsai ma wo. Ke sripa inge mwet lokoalok lalos ac fah ukwalos.”
4 They have reigned, but not by me: they have been princes, and I knew not: of their silver, and their gold they have made idols to themselves, that they might perish.
“Mwet luk sifacna akwalyeak tokosra lalos, tuh tia ma sik. Elos sulela mwet kol lalos, su nga tia akkeye. Elos srukak silver ac gold lalos sang orala ma sruloala, ma ac kunauselosla sifacna.
5 Thy calf, O Samaria, is cast off, my wrath is kindled against them. How long will they be incapable of being cleansed?
Nga srunga cow mukul gold ma mwet uh alu nu kac in siti Samaria. Nga kasrkusrak selos. Nga ac soano nwe ngac elos in sisla alyalu lalos nu ke ma sruloala?
6 For itself also is the invention of Israel: a workman made it, and it is no god: for the calf of Samaria shall be turned to spiders’ webs.
Mwet tufahlfal se lun Israel pa orala ma sruloala sac su tiana god se! Cow mukul gold ma alukinyuk in Samaria ac fah fokfoki.
7 For they shall sow wind, and reap a whirlwind, there is no standing stalk in it, the bud shall yield no meal; and if it should yield, strangers shall eat it.
Mwet elos taknelik eng uh, na elos kosrani paka! Sie ima in wheat ma tia fokla tia ku in orala flao. Tusruk finne oasr fahko, mwetsac uh pa ac kangla.
8 Israel is swallowed up: now is he become among the nations like an unclean vessel.
Inge Israel el oapana mutunfacl saya uh. El oana sie tup fokelik ma wanginla sripa.
9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath given gifts to his lovers.
Mwet Israel elos likkeke oana donkey lemnak, forfor wel. Elos som in suk kasru sin Assyria, ac moli nu sin mutunfacl saya in loangelos.
10 But even though they shall have hired the nations, now will I gather them together: and they shall rest a while from the burden of the king, and the princes.
Elos ne pwapa ouinge yurin mutunfacl saya, a inge nga fah eisaloseni ac kalyaelos. Ac tia paht elos ac arulana keok ye poun tokosra fulat lun Assyria.
11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin: altars are become to him unto sin.
“Ke mwet Israel elos akpusye loang mwe sisla ma koluk lalos uh, acn in orekma koluk lalos uh puseni pac.
12 I shall write to him my manifold laws, which have been accounted as foreign.
Puslana mwe luti nga simusla nu sin mwet uh, tuh elos pilesru — oana ma sasu nu selos ac elos supah kac.
13 They shall offer victims, they shall sacrifice flesh, and shall eat it, and the Lord will not receive them: now will he remember their iniquity, and will visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
Elos orek kisa nu sik, ac kang ikwa lun mwe kisa. Tuh nga, LEUM GOD, nga tia insewowo selos, ac inge nga fah esam ma koluk lalos ac kalyaelos kac. Nga fah folokunulosla nu Egypt.
14 And Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples: and Juda hath built many fenced cities: and I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
“Mwet Israel elos musaela inkul fulat sin tokosra, a elos tiana esam El Su Oralosla. Mwet Judah elos musaela siti pus ke pot ku. Tuh nga ac fah supwala e in esukak inkul fulat sin tokosra lalos ac siti selos.”
