Hosea 8
1 Let there be a trumpet in thy throat like an eagle upon the house of the Lord: because they have transgressed my covenant, and have violated my law.
১“তোমার মুখে শিঙ্গা দাও। সদাপ্রভুর গৃহের উপরে এক ঈগল পাখি আসছে, সদাপ্রভু। এটা ঘটছে কারণ লোকেরা আমার নিয়ম ভেঙ্গেছে এবং আমার নিয়মের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করেছে।
2 They shall call upon me: O my God, we, Israel, know thee.
২তারা আমার কাছে কাঁদবে, ‘আমাদের ঈশ্বর, আমরা যারা ইস্রায়েলে থাকি তোমাকে জানি।’
3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good, the enemy shall pursue him.
৩কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল যা ভালো তা প্রত্যাখান করল এবং শত্রুরা তাকে তাড়া করবে।
4 They have reigned, but not by me: they have been princes, and I knew not: of their silver, and their gold they have made idols to themselves, that they might perish.
৪তারা রাজা নিযুক্ত করেছে, কিন্তু আমার মাধ্যমে নয়। তারা রাজপুত্র নিযুক্ত করেছে, কিন্তু আমাকে না জানিয়ে। তাদের সোনা ও রূপা দিয়ে তাদের জন্য প্রতিমা বানিয়েছে, কিন্তু এই কারণেই তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করা হবে।”
5 Thy calf, O Samaria, is cast off, my wrath is kindled against them. How long will they be incapable of being cleansed?
৫ভাববাদী বলে, “শমরিয়া, তিনি তোমার বাছুর ফেলে দিয়েছেন।” সদাপ্রভু বললেন, আমার রাগের আগুনে এই লোকেদের বিরুদ্ধে জ্বলবে। কতকাল এই লোকেরা অপবিত্র থাকবে?
6 For itself also is the invention of Israel: a workman made it, and it is no god: for the calf of Samaria shall be turned to spiders’ webs.
৬কারণ এই প্রতিমা ইস্রায়েল থেকে এসেছে; একজন শিল্পকার তৈরী করেছে; এটি ঈশ্বর নয়! শমরিয়ার বাছুর খণ্ড খণ্ড করে ভাঙ্গা হবে।
7 For they shall sow wind, and reap a whirlwind, there is no standing stalk in it, the bud shall yield no meal; and if it should yield, strangers shall eat it.
৭কারণ লোকেরা বাতাস রোপণ করেছে এবং ঘূর্ণিঝড় কাটবে। দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা শস্য গুলোর শিস নেই; এটি কোন আটা উত্পাদন করে না। যদি এটি পরিপক্কতা পায় বিদেশীরা তা গ্রাস করবে।
8 Israel is swallowed up: now is he become among the nations like an unclean vessel.
৮ইস্রায়েলকে গিলে ফেলা হল; তারা এখন জাতিদের মধ্যে বেকারের মত রয়েছে।
9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath given gifts to his lovers.
৯কারণ তারা অশূরে বন্য গাধার মত একা গেছে। ইফ্রয়িম তার জন্য প্রেমিকা ভাড়া নিয়েছে।
10 But even though they shall have hired the nations, now will I gather them together: and they shall rest a while from the burden of the king, and the princes.
১০এমনকি যদিও তারা জাতিদের মধ্যে থেকে প্রেমিক ভাড়া করেছে, আমি এখন তাদের জড়ো করব। তারা শাসনকর্ত্তাদের রাজার নির্যাতনে নষ্ট হতে শুরু করেছে।
11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin: altars are become to him unto sin.
১১ইফ্রয়িম অনেক যজ্ঞবেদী বৃদ্ধি করেছে পাপের নৈবেদ্যের জন্য, কিন্তু তার পরিবর্তে তারা পাপের যজ্ঞবেদীতে পরিণত হয়েছে।
12 I shall write to him my manifold laws, which have been accounted as foreign.
১২আমি তাদের জন্য আমার নিয়ম দশ হাজার বার লিখতে পারি, কিন্তু তারা এটা একটা অদ্ভুত বিষয় হিসাবে দেখবে।
13 They shall offer victims, they shall sacrifice flesh, and shall eat it, and the Lord will not receive them: now will he remember their iniquity, and will visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
১৩যেমন আমার বলি উপহারের জন্য, তারা মাংস বলি দেয় এবং তা খায়, কিন্তু আমি, সদাপ্রভু, তাদের গ্রাহ্য করব না। এখন আমি তাদের পাপ মনে করব এবং তাদের পাপের শাস্তি দেব। তারা মিশরে ফিরে যাবে।
14 And Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples: and Juda hath built many fenced cities: and I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
১৪ইস্রায়েল আমায় ভুলে গেছে, তার সৃষ্টিকর্ত্তাকে এবং প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করেছে। যিহূদা অনেক শহরকে সুরক্ষিত করেছে, কিন্তু আমি তার শহরে আগুন পাঠাব; যা তার দুর্গগুলিকে ধ্বংস করবে।
