Hosea 2
1 Say ye to your brethren: You are my people, and to your sister: Thou hast obtained mercy.
Cependant le nombre des enfants d'Israël sera comme le sable de la mer qui n'est ni mesuré, ni compté; et dans le lieu même où il leur est dit: Vous n'êtes pas mon peuple! il leur sera dit: Fils du Dieu vivant!
2 Judge your mother, judge her: because she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her put away her fornications from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts.
Et les enfants de Juda et les enfants d'Israël seront rassemblés et réunis, et ils se donneront un seul chef, et ils reviendront de la terre étrangère; car grande sera la journée de Jisréel.
3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born: and I will make her as a wilderness, and will set her as a land that none can pass through, and will kill her with drought.
Dites à vos frères: Mon-peuple! et à vos sœurs: Rentrée-en-grâce!
4 And I will not have mercy on her children: for they are the children of fornications.
Faites le procès, le procès à votre mère! car elle n'est point mon épouse et je ne suis point son époux; afin que de sa figure elle ôte son impudicité, et de ses mamelles ses adultères,
5 For their mother hath committed fornication, she that conceived them is covered with shame: for she said: I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread, and my water, my wool, and my flax, my oil, and my drink.
de peur que je ne la déshabille à nu et ne la rende telle qu'au jour de sa naissance, et pareille au désert, pareille à une terre aride, et que je ne la fasse périr de soif:
6 Wherefore behold I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will stop it up with a wall, and she shall not find her paths.
de ses fils non plus je n'aurai pas pitié, car ils sont impudiques.
7 And she shall follow after her lovers, and shall not overtake them: and she shall seek them, and shall not find, and she shall say: I will go, and return to my first husband, because it was better with me then, than now.
C'est qu'elle est impudique votre mère, infâme celle qui vous enfanta, car elle dit: Je veux suivre mes amants qui me donnent mon pain et mon eau, ma laine et mon lin, mon huile et mon breuvage.
8 And she did not know that I gave her corn and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver, and gold, which they have used in the service of Baal.
Aussi voici, je vais barrer son chemin avec des ronces et y élever un mur, afin qu'elle ne trouve plus ses sentiers;
9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in its season, and my wine in its season, and I will set at liberty my wool, and my flax, which covered her disgrace.
et elle poursuivra ses amants, et ne les atteindra pas; elle les cherchera, mais ne les trouvera pas, et elle dira: Je veux aller et retourner à mon premier époux, car j'étais mieux alors que maintenant.
10 And now I will lay open her folly in the eyes of her lovers: and no man shall deliver her out of my hand:
Mais elle ne reconnaît pas que c'est moi qui lui ai donné le blé et le moût et l'huile, et en abondance l'argent et l'or dont ils ont fait un Baal.
11 And I will cause all her mirth to cease, her solemnities, her new moons, her sabbaths, and all her festival times.
Aussi je retirerai mon blé dans sa saison et mon moût à son époque, et reprendrai ma laine et mon lin, couverture de sa nudité.
12 And I will destroy her vines, and her fig trees, of which she said: These are my rewards, which my lovers have given me: and I will make her as a forest, and the beasts of the field shall devour her.
Et maintenant je dévoilerai sa honte aux yeux de ses amants, et nul ne la dégagera de ma main.
13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, to whom she burnt incense, and decked herself out with her earrings, and with her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me, saith the Lord.
Et je mettrai fin à toute sa joie, à ses fêtes, à ses nouvelles lunes et à ses sabbats, et à toutes ses solennités.
14 Therefore, behold I will allure her, and will lead her into the wilderness: and I will speak to her heart.
Et je dévasterai ses vignes et ses figuiers dont elle dit: C'est un don que m'ont fait mes amants! Et je les changerai en forêts, afin que les bêtes des champs les dévorent.
15 And I will give her vinedressers out of the same place, and the valley of Achor for an opening of hope: and she shall sing there according to the days of her youth, and according to the days of her coming up out of the land of Egypt.
Et je vengerai sur elle les jours des Baals, où elle les encensait, et se parait de son anneau et de son collier, et suivait ses amants, et m'oubliait, dit l'Éternel.
16 And it shall be in that day, saith the Lord, That she shall call me: My husband, and she shall call me no more Baali.
Aussi voici, je veux la gagner et la mener au désert et parler à son cœur.
17 And I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and she shall no more remember their name.
Et dès lors je lui rendrai ses vignes et la vallée d'Achor comme porte d'espérance; et là elle chantera comme aux jours de sa jeunesse, et au jour qu'elle sortit du pays d'Egypte.
18 And in that day I will make a covenant with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air, and with the creeping things of the earth: and I will destroy the bow, and the sword, and war out of the land: and I will make them sleep secure.
Et en ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel, tu m'appelleras: Mon époux! et tu ne m'appelleras plus: Monseigneur!
19 And I will espouse thee to me for ever: and I will espouse thee to me in justice, and judgment, and in mercy, and in commiserations.
Et j'ôterai de leur bouche les noms des Baals, afin qu'on ne les rappelle plus par leurs noms.
20 And I will espouse thee to me in faith: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
Et pour eux je ferai en ce temps-là un pacte avec les bêtes des champs et avec les oiseaux des Cieux et avec les reptiles de la terre, et je briserai l'arc et l'épée et la guerre que je bannirai du pays, et je leur donnerai une demeure assurée.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day: I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth.
Et je te fiancerai à moi pour l'éternité, et je te fiancerai à moi avec justice et droit, et avec grâce et miséricorde,
22 And the earth shall hear the core, and the wine, and the oil, and these shall hear Jezrahel.
et je te fiancerai à moi avec fidélité, et tu connaîtras l'Éternel.
23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth, and I will have mercy on her that was without mercy. And I will say to that which was not my people: Thou art my people: and they shall say: Thou art my God.
Et en ce temps-là j'exaucerai, dit l'Éternel, j'exaucerai les Cieux, et ils exauceront la terre,
