Hosea 13
1 When Ephraim spoke, a horror seized Israel: and he sinned in Baal and died.
Quando Ephraim fallava, tremia-se; foi exalçado em Israel; mas quando se fez culpado em Baal, então morreu.
2 And now they have sinned more and more: and they have made to themselves a molten thing of their silver as the likeness of idols: the whole is the work of craftsmen: to these that say: Sacrifice men, ye that adore calves.
E agora accumularam peccados sobre peccados, e da sua prata fizeram uma imagem de fundição, idolos segundo o seu entendimento, que todos são obra de artifices, dos quaes dizem: Os homens que sacrificam beijem os bezerros.
3 Therefore they shall be as a morning aloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the dust that is driven with a whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
Por isso serão como a nuvem de manhã, e como orvalho da madrugada, que passa: como folhelho que a tempestade lança da eira, e como o fumo da chaminé.
4 But I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt know no God but me, and there is no saviour beside me.
Eu pois sou o Senhor teu Deus desde a terra do Egypto; portanto não reconhecerás outro Deus fóra de mim, porque não ha Salvador senão eu.
5 I knew thee in the desert, in the land of the wilderness.
Eu te conheci no deserto, na terra mui secca.
6 According to their pastures they were filled, and were made full: and they lifted up their heart, and have forgotten me.
Depois elles se fartaram á proporção do seu pasto; estando pois fartos, ensoberbeceu-se o seu coração, por isso se esqueceram de mim.
7 And I will be to them as a lioness, as a leopard in the way of the Assyrians.
Portanto serei para elles como leão; como leopardo espiarei no caminho.
8 I will meet them as a bear that is robbed of her whelps, and I will rend the inner parts of their liver: and I will devour them there as a lion, the beast of the field shall tear them.
Como urso que tem perdido seus filhos, os encontrarei, lhes romperei as teias do seu coração, e ali os devorarei como leão; as feras do campo os despedaçarão.
9 Destruction is thy own, O Israel: thy help is only in me.
Isso te lançou a perder, ó Israel, que te rebellaste contra mim, a saber, contra a tua ajuda.
10 Where is thy king? now especially let him save thee in all thy cities: and thy judges, of whom thou saidst: Give me kings and princes.
Onde está agora o teu rei, para que te guarde em todas as tuas cidades? e os teus juizes, dos quaes disseste: Dá-me rei e principes?
11 I will give thee a king in my wrath, and will take him away in my indignation.
Dei-te um rei na minha ira, e t'o tirarei no meu furor.
12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up, his sin is hidden.
A iniquidade de Ephraim está atada, o seu peccado está enthesourado.
13 The sorrows of a woman in labour snail come upon him, he is an unwise son: for now he shall not stand in the breach of the children.
Dôres de mulher de parto lhe virão: elle é um filho insensato: porque não permanece o seu tempo na paridura.
14 I will deliver them out of the hand of death. I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy death; O hell, I will be thy bite: comfort is hidden from my eyes. (Sheol h7585)
Eu pois os remirei da violencia do inferno, e os resgatarei da morte: onde estão, ó morte, as tuas pestes? onde está ó inferno, a tua perdição? o arrependimento será escondido de meus olhos. (Sheol h7585)
15 Because he shall make a separation between brothers: the Lord will bring a burning wind that shall rise from the desert, and it shall dry up his springs, and shall make his fountain desolate, and he shall carry off the treasure of every desirable vessel.
Ainda que elle dê fructo entre os irmãos, virá o vento leste, vento do Senhor, subindo do deserto, e seccar-se-ha a sua veia, e seccar-se-ha a sua fonte: elle saqueará o thesouro de todos os vasos desejaveis.
16 Let Samaria perish, because she hath stirred up her God to bitterness: let them perish by the sword, let their little ones be dashed, and let the women with child be ripped up.
Samaria virá a ser deserta, porque se rebellou contra o seu Deus: cairão á espada, seus filhos serão despedaçados, e as suas gravidas serão fendidas pelo meio.
