Hebrews 6
1 Wherefore leaving the word of the beginning of Christ, let us go on to things more perfect, not laying again the foundation of penance from dead works, and of faith towards God,
Por tanto dejemos las enseñanzas elementales de la doctrina de Cristo y avancemos hacia la perfección. No echemos otra vez [el] fundamento del arrepentimiento de obras muertas, de [la ]fe en Dios,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and imposition of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
de [la ]doctrina de bautismos, de [la ]imposición de manos, de [la ]resurrección de los muertos y del juicio eterno. (aiōnios g166)
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Esto haremos, si Dios permite.
4 For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Porque es imposible que los que una vez fueron iluminados, probaron el don celestial, participaron del Espíritu Santo,
saborearon la buena Palabra de Dios y [los ]poderes de [la ]era venidera, (aiōn g165)
6 And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God, and making him a mockery.
y apostataron, sean otra vez restaurados para cambio de mente, pues así crucifican al Hijo de Dios para ellos mismos y lo exponen a afrenta pública.
7 For the earth that drinketh in the rain which cometh often upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God.
Porque la tierra que bebe la lluvia que cae a menudo sobre ella y produce buena cosecha a los que la cultivan, recibe [la] bendición de Dios.
8 But that which bringeth forth thorns and briers, is reprobate, and very near unto a curse, whose end is to be burnt.
Pero la [tierra] que produce espinas y tallos rastreros es inútil y está cerca de una maldición. Su fin es ser quemada.
9 But, my dearly beloved, we trust better things of you, and nearer to salvation; though we speak thus.
Pero en cuanto a ustedes, amados, aunque hablamos de esta manera, estamos convencidos de cosas mejores que conducen a [la] salvación.
10 For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.
Porque Dios no es injusto para olvidar su obra y el trabajo de amor que ustedes demostraron a su Nombre cuando sirvieron a los santos, a quienes aún sirven.
11 And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end:
Pero deseamos que cada uno de ustedes muestre la misma diligencia hasta [el] fin para la plena certeza de la esperanza,
12 That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.
a fin de que no sean perezosos, sino imitadores de los que por fe y longanimidad heredan las promesas.
13 For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself,
Porque cuando Dios dio [la] promesa a Abraham, puesto que no tenía uno mayor por quien jurar, juró por Él mismo:
14 Saying: Unless blessing I shall bless thee, and multiplying I shall multiply thee.
Ciertamente te bendeciré y te multiplicaré.
15 And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.
Así, [Abraham] esperó con paciencia y obtuvo la promesa.
16 For men swear by one greater than themselves: and an oath for confirmation is the end of all their controversy.
Porque [los] seres humanos juran por el mayor. Para ellos el fin de toda controversia es el juramento de confirmación.
17 Wherein God, meaning more abundantly to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed an oath:
Por tanto, cuando Dios quiso demostrar más plenamente lo inmutable de su propósito a los herederos de la promesa, interpuso juramento.
18 That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.
Para que por dos cosas inmutables en las cuales es imposible que Dios mienta, los que nos refugiamos en la esperanza de lo que está adelante, tengamos un fortísimo consuelo,
19 Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil;
el cual tenemos como ancla firme y segura del alma, y que entra hasta lo que está en el interior del velo,
