Galatians 5
1 Stand fast, and be not held again under the yoke of bondage.
Mantenha-se firme, portanto, na liberdade pela qual Cristo nos libertou, e não se enredar novamente com um jugo de escravidão.
2 Behold, I Paul tell you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Eis que eu, Paulo, lhe digo que, se você receber a circuncisão, Cristo nada lhe aproveitará.
3 And I testify again to every man circumcising himself, that he is a debtor to the whole law.
Sim, eu testemunho novamente a todo homem que recebe a circuncisão que ele é um devedor para fazer toda a lei.
4 You are made void of Christ, you who are justified in the law: you are fallen from grace.
Você está alienado de Cristo, você que deseja ser justificado pela lei. Você se afastou da graça.
5 For we in spirit, by faith, wait for the hope of justice.
Pois nós, pelo Espírito, pela fé, esperamos a esperança da justiça.
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision: but faith that worketh by charity.
Pois em Cristo Jesus nem a circuncisão nem a incircuncisão equivalem a nada, mas a fé trabalhando através do amor.
7 You did run well, who hath hindered you, that you should not obey the truth?
Você estava correndo bem! Quem interferiu com você para que não obedecesse à verdade?
8 This persuasion is not from him that calleth you.
Esta persuasão não vem daquele que o chama.
9 A little leaven corrupteth the whole lump.
A o pequeno fermento cresce através de todo o caroço.
10 I have confidence in you in the Lord: that you will not be of another mind: but he that troubleth you, shall bear the judgment, whosoever he be.
Tenho confiança para convosco no Senhor que não pensareis de outra forma. Mas aquele que vos perturba suportará seu julgamento, seja ele quem for.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? Then is the scandal of the cross made void.
Mas eu, irmãos, se eu ainda prego a circuncisão, por que ainda sou perseguido? Então a pedra de tropeço da cruz foi removida.
12 I would they were even cut off, who trouble you.
Desejo que aqueles que os perturbam se cortem.
13 For you, brethren, have been called unto liberty: only make not liberty an occasion to the flesh, but by charity of the spirit serve one another.
Para vocês, irmãos, foram chamados para a liberdade. Apenas não usem sua liberdade como uma oportunidade para a carne, mas através do amor sejam servos uns dos outros.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Pois toda a lei é cumprida em uma só palavra, nisto: “Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo”.
15 But if you bite and devour one another; take heed you be not consumed one of another.
Mas se vocês morderem e se devorarem uns aos outros, tenham cuidado para não se consumirem uns aos outros.
16 I say then, walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Mas eu digo, caminhem pelo Espírito, e não cumprirão a luxúria da carne.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the spirit: and the spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to another: so that you do not the things that you would.
Pois a luxúria da carne é contra o Espírito, e o Espírito contra a carne; e estas são contrárias umas às outras, para que não façais as coisas que desejais.
18 But if you are led by the spirit, you are not under the law.
Mas se você é guiado pelo Espírito, você não está sob a lei.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury,
Agora os atos da carne são óbvios, que são: adultério, imoralidade sexual, imundícia, luxúria,
20 Idolatry, witchcrafts, enmities, contentions, emulations, wraths, quarrels, dissensions, sects,
idolatria, feitiçaria, ódio, contendas, ciúmes, explosões de raiva, rivalidades, divisões, heresias,
21 Envies, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like. Of the which I foretell you, as I have foretold to you, that they who do such things shall not obtain the kingdom of God.
inveja, assassinatos, embriaguez, orgias, e coisas assim; das quais eu vos previno, como também vos preveni, que aqueles que praticam tais coisas não herdarão o Reino de Deus.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity,
Mas o fruto do Espírito é amor, alegria, paz, paciência, bondade, bondade, fé,
23 Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law.
gentileza e autocontrole. Contra tais coisas não há lei.
24 And they that are Christ’s, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences.
Aqueles que pertencem a Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões e luxúrias.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Se vivemos pelo Espírito, vamos também caminhar pelo Espírito.
26 Let us not be made desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying on another.
Let não se tornam convencidos, provocando-se uns aos outros e invejando-se mutuamente.
