Ephesians 2
1 And you, when you were dead in your offences, and sins,
También vosotros estabais muertos por vuestros delitos y pecados,
2 Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of this air, of the spirit that now worketh on the children of unbelief: (aiōn g165)
en los cuales en otro tiempo anduvisteis conforme al curso de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la autoridad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la incredulidad. (aiōn g165)
3 In which also we all conversed in time past, in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:
Entre ellos vivíamos también nosotros todos en un tiempo según las concupiscencias de nuestra carne, siguiendo los apetitos de la carne y de nuestros pensamientos; de modo que éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.
4 But God, (who is rich in mercy, ) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us,
Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia por causa del grande amor suyo con que nos amó,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ, (by whose grace you are saved, )
cuando estábamos aún muertos en los pecados, nos vivificó juntamente con Cristo —de gracia habéis sido salvados—
6 And hath raised us up together, and hath made us sit together in the heavenly places, through Christ Jesus.
y juntamente con Él nos resucitó y nos hizo sentar en los cielos en Cristo Jesús,
7 That he might shew in the ages to come the abundant riches of his grace, in his bounty towards us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
para que en las edades venideras se manifieste la sobreabundante riqueza de su gracia mediante la bondad que tuvo para nosotros en Cristo Jesús. (aiōn g165)
8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God;
Porque habéis sido salvados gratuitamente por medio de la fe; y esto no viene de vosotros: es el don de Dios;
9 Not of works, that no man may glory.
tampoco viene de las obras, para que ninguno pueda gloriarse.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.
Pues de Él somos hechura, creados ( de nuevo ) en Cristo Jesús para obras buenas que Dios preparó de antemano para que las hagamos.
11 For which cause be mindful that you, being heretofore Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that which is called circumcision in the flesh, made by hands;
Por tanto, acordaos vosotros, los que en otro tiempo erais gentiles en la carne, llamados “incircuncisión” por aquellos que se llaman circuncisión —la cual se hace en la carne por mano del hombre—
12 That you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the conversation of Israel, and strangers to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and without God in this world.
( acordaos digo ) de que entonces estabais separados de Cristo, extraños a la comunidad de Israel, y ajenos a los pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.
13 But now in Christ Jesus, you, who some time were afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Mas ahora, en Cristo Jesús, vosotros los que en un tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido acercados por la sangre de Cristo.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition, the enmities in his flesh:
Porque Él es nuestra paz: El que de ambos hizo uno, derribando de en medio el muro de separación, la enemistad; anulando por medio de su carne
15 Making void the law of commandments contained in decrees; that he might make the two in himself into one new man, making peace;
la Ley con sus mandamientos y preceptos, para crear en Sí mismo de los dos un solo hombre nuevo, haciendo paz,
16 And might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, killing the enmities in himself.
y para reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo cuerpo por medio de la Cruz, matando en ella la enemistad.
17 And coming, he preached peace to you that were afar off, and peace to them that were nigh.
Y viniendo, evangelizó paz a vosotros los que estabais lejos, y paz a los de cerca.
18 For by him we have access both in one Spirit to the Father.
Y así por Él unos y otros tenemos el acceso al Padre, en un mismo Espíritu;
19 Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and the domestics of God,
de modo que ya no sois extranjeros ni advenedizos sino que sois conciudadanos de los santos y miembros de la familia de Dios,
20 Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:
edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo piedra angular el mismo Cristo Jesús,
21 In whom all the building, being framed together, groweth up into an holy temple in the Lord.
en quien todo el edificio, armónicamente trabado, crece para templo santo en el Señor.
22 In whom you also are built together into an habitation of God in the Spirit.
En Él sois también vosotros coedificados en el Espíritu para morada de Dios.
