Deuteronomy 8
1 All the commandments, that I command thee this day, take great care to observe: that you may live, and be multiplied, and going in may possess the land, for which the Lord swore to your fathers.
ನೀವು ಬದುಕಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
2 And thou shalt remember all the way through which the Lord thy God hath brought thee for forty years through the desert, to afflict thee and to prove thee, and that the things that were in thy heart might be made known, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments or no.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈ ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿ, ನೀವು ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವಿರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
3 He afflicted thee with want, and gave thee manna for thy food, which neither thou nor thy fathers knew: to shew that not in bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜೀವಿಸುವುದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಾತಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಯದಂಥ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ತಿಳಿಯದಂಥ ಮನ್ನವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಉಣ್ಣಲು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
4 Thy raiment, with which thou wast covered, hath not decayed for age, and thy foot is not worn, lo this is the fortieth year,
ಈ ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಹಳೆಯದಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲುಗಳು ಬಾತುಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
5 That thou mayst consider in thy heart, that as a man traineth up his son, so the Lord thy God hath trained thee up.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತುಪಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದರೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
6 That thou shouldst keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways, and fear him.
ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು, ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
7 For the Lord thy God will bring thee into a good land, of brooks and of waters, and of fountains: in the plains of which and the hills deep rivers break out:
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದು ನೀರಿನ ಹಳ್ಳಗಳೂ, ತಗ್ಗುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಉಕ್ಕುವ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳೂ ಇರುವ ದೇಶವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vineyards, wherein fig trees and pomegranates, and oliveyards grow: a land of oil and honey.
ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಧಿಯೂ, ಜವೆಗೋಧಿಯೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೆಯೂ, ಅಂಜೂರ ಮರಗಳೂ, ದಾಳಿಂಬೆಗಳೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಅದು ಓಲಿವ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯೂ, ಜೇನೂ ಉಳ್ಳ ದೇಶವೇ.
9 Where without any want thou shalt eat thy bread, and enjoy abundance of all things: where the stones are iron, and out of its hills are dug mines of brass:
ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊರತೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದರ ಕೊರತೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಗದು. ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವನ್ನೂ, ಅದರ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಮ್ರದ ಗಣಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಗೆಯಬಹುದು.
10 That when thou hast eaten, and art full, thou mayst bless the Lord thy God for the excellent land which he hath given thee.
ನೀವು ತಿಂದು ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದಾಗ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಬೇಕು.
11 Take heed, and beware lest at any time thou forget the Lord thy God, and neglect his commandments and judgments and ceremonies, which I command thee this day:
ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೀರ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದವರೂ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮರೆಯದವರೂ ಆಗದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
12 Lest after thou hast eaten and art filled, hast built goodly houses, and dwelt in them,
ನೀವು ತಿಂದು ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವಾಗಲೂ,
13 And shalt have herds of oxen and flocks of sheep, and plenty of gold and of silver, and of all things,
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಶು ಕುರಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದಾಗಲೂ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದಾಗಲೂ, ನಿಮಗಿರುವ ಆಸ್ತಿಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ,
14 Thy heart be lifted up, and thou remember not the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage:
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ಗರ್ವಗೊಂಡು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದಂಥ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನೇ ಮರೆತುಬಿಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
15 And was thy leader in the great and terrible wilderness, wherein there was the serpent burning with his breath, and the scorpion and the dipsas, and no waters at all: who brought forth streams out of the hardest rock,
ದೇವರು ಅಗ್ನಿಸರ್ಪಗಳೂ, ಚೇಳುಗಳೂ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮತ್ತು ನೀರಿಲ್ಲದ ಆ ಭಯಂಕರವಾದ ವಿಶಾಲ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ, ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಬಂಡೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀರು ಬರಮಾಡಿದರು.
16 And fed thee in the wilderness with manna which thy fathers knew not. And after he had afflicted and proved thee, at the last he had mercy on thee,
ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೀನತ್ವಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿ, ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಅರಿಯದ ಮನ್ನವನ್ನು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಪೋಷಿಸಿದರು.
17 Lest thou shouldst say in thy heart: My own might, and the strength of my own hand have achieved all these things for me.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು, “ನಮ್ಮ ಹಸ್ತ ಬಲ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವೇ ನಮಗೆ ಈ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿತು,” ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
18 But remember the Lord thy God, that he hath given thee strength, that he might fulfill his covenant, concerning which he swore to thy fathers, as this present day sheweth.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಅವರೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ಇಂದು ನೀವು ಇಷ್ಟು ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
19 But if thou forget the Lord thy God, and follow strange gods, and serve and adore them: behold now I foretell thee that thou shalt utterly perish.
ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು, ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುವಿರೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
20 As the nations, which the Lord destroyed at thy entrance, so shall you also perish, if you be disobedient to the voice of the Lord your God.
ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ಇತರ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ನಾಶವಾಗಿಹೋಗುವಿರಿ.
