Amos 1
1 The words of Amos, who was among herdsmen of Thecua: which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Ozias king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joas king of Israel two years before the earthquake.
As palavras de Amós, que estava entre os pastores de Tecoa, as quais ele viu sobre Israel nos dias de Uzias rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do terremoto.
2 And he said: The Lord will roar from Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the beautiful places of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is withered.
E disse: O SENHOR bramará desde Sião, e dará sua voz desde Jerusalém; e as habitações dos pastores se prantearão, e o topo do Carmelo se secará.
3 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Damasco, e pela quarta, não desviarei [seu castigo]; porque trilharam a Gileade com trilhos de ferro.
4 And I will send a fire into the house of Azael, and it shall devour the houses of Benadad.
Por isso meterei fogo na casa de Hazael, que consumirá os palácios de Ben-Hadade.
5 And I will break the bar of Damascus: and I will cut off the inhabitants from the plain of the idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of pleasure: and the people of Syria shall be carried away to Cyrene, saith the Lord.
E quebrarei o ferrolho de Damasco, e exterminarei o morador do vale de Áven, e o dono do cetro de de Bete-Éden; e o povo da Síria será levado em cativeiro a Quir, diz o SENHOR.
6 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Gaza, e pela quarta, não desviarei [seu castigo]; pois levaram a todos do povo em cativeiro, para os entregar a Edom.
7 And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
Por isso meterei fogo no muro de Gaza, que consumirá seus palácios.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Azotus, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ascalon: and I will turn my hand against Accaron, and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.
E exterminarei o morador de Asdode, e o dono do cetro de Asquelom; e tornarei minha mão contra Ecrom, e o resto dos filisteus perecerá, diz o Senhor DEUS.
9 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Tiro, e pela quarta, não desviarei [seu castigo]; porque entregaram todo o povo em cativeiro a Edom, e não se lembraram do pacto de irmãos.
10 And I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof.
Por isso meterei fogo no muro de Tiro, que consumirá seus palácios.
11 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath pursued his brother with the sword, and hath cast off all pity, and hath carried on his fury, and hath kept his wrath to the end.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Edom, e pela quarta, não desviarei [seu castigo]; porque perseguiu seu irmão à espada, e extinguiu suas misericórdias; e sua ira [o] despedaçou continuamente, e mantém sua indignação eternamente.
12 I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra.
Por isso meterei fogo em Temã, que consumirá os palácios de Bosra.
13 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath ripped up the women with child of Galaad to enlarge his border.
Assim diz o SENHOR: Por três transgressões dos filhos de Amom, e pelo quarta, não desviarei [seu castigo]; porque rasgaram o ventre das grávidas de Gileade, para expandirem seus territórios.
14 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabba: and it shall devour the houses thereof with shouting in the day of battle, and with a whirlwind in the day of trouble.
Por isso acenderei fogo no muro de Rabá, que consumirá seus palácios com grito no dia de batalha, com tempestade no dia do vento forte.
15 And Melchom shall go into captivity, both he, and his princes together, saith the Lord.
E seu rei irá ao cativeiro, e junto dele seus príncipes, diz o SENHOR.
