Amos 6
1 Woe to you that are wealthy in Sion, and to you that have confidence in the mountain of Samaria: ye great men, heads of the people, that go in with state into the house of Israel.
Pagkaalaot niadtong nagpaharuhay sa Zion, ug kadtong luwas sa kabungtoran sa Samaria, nga inila nga mga tawo sa maayo nga mga nasod, kadtong anaa sa balay sa Israel nga mianha sa pagtabang!
2 Pass ye over to Chalane, and see, and go from thence into Emath the great: and go down into Geth of the Philistines, and to all the best kingdoms of these: if their border be larger than your border.
Ang inyong mga pangulo nag-ingon, “Adto sa Calne ug tan-awa; gikan didto paingon sa Hamat, ang bantogan nga siyudad; dayon lugsong ngadto sa Gat sa filistihanon. Mas maayo ba sila kay sa imong duha ka gingharian? mas dako ba ang ilang utlanan kaysa imong utlanan?”
3 You that are separated unto the evil day: and that approach to the throne of iniquity;
Alaot kadtong nagbaliwala sa adlaw sa katalagman ug naghimo sa trono sa kasamok nga mahiduol.
4 You that sleep upon beds of ivory, and are wanton on your couches: that eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the herd;
Naghigda sila sa mga mahalon nga higdaanan ug naghigda sila sa humok nga lingkoranan. Nagkaon sila sa karne sa mga nating karnero gikan sa ilang mga kahayopan ug sa mga baka nga gikan sa pasungan.
5 You that sing to the sound of the psaltery: they have thought themselves to have instruments of music like David;
Nag-awit sila ug mga awit nga walay pulos inubanan sa tugtog sa alpa; gihimo nila ang mga tulonggon sama sa gibuhat ni David.
6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best ointments: and they are not concerned for the affliction of Joseph.
Nag-inom sila ug ilimnom gikan sa mga panaksan ug gidihogan nila ang ilang mga kaugalingon sa mga maayong lana, apan wala sila magbangotan sa pagkalaglag ni Jose.
7 Wherefore now they shall go captive at the head of them that go into captivity: and the faction of the luxurious ones shall be taken away.
Busa karon bihagon sila uban sa mga unang binihag na ug ang pista niadtong nagpahigayon mangahanaw lamang.
8 The Lord God hath sworn by his own soul, saith the Lord the God of hosts: I detest the pride of Jacob, and I hate his houses, and I will deliver up the city with the inhabitants thereof.
Ako ang Ginoo nga si Yahweh, nanumpa pinaagi sa akong kaugalingon— mao kini ang gipahayag sa Ginoo nga si Yahweh, ang Dios nga makagagahom, gidumtan ko ang garbo ni Jacob; gikasilagan ko ang iyang mga salipdanan. Busa itugyan ko ang siyudad ug ang tanan nga anaa niini.”
9 And if there remain ten men in one house, they also shall die.
Kung mahitabo kini nga adunay napulo ka mga tawo nga mahibilin sa usa ka balay, mamatay silang tanan.
10 And a man’s kinsman shall take him up, and shall burn him, that he may carry the bones out of the house; and he shall say to him that is in the inner rooms of the house: Is there yet any with thee? And he shall answer: There is an end. And he shall any to him: Hold thy peace, and mention not the name of the Lord.
Kung ang paryenti sa usa ka tawo moadto aron pagkuha sa ilang lawas—ang tawo nga mosunog kanila human mapagawas ang mga patay nga lawas sa balay—kung mosulti siya ngadto sa tawo sa balay, “Aduna ka bay kauban dinhi?” Unsa kaha kung ang tawo mosulti nga “Wala” Unya mosulti siya, “Paghilom, kay kinahanglan dili nato hisgutan ang ngalan ni Yahweh.”
11 For behold the Lord hath commanded, and he will strike the greater house with breaches, and the lesser house with clefts.
Kay, tan-awa, maghatag si Yahweh ug mando, ug madugmok ang dakong balay ngadto sa pagkapino, ug ang gamay nga balay.
12 Can horses run upon the rocks, or can any one plough with buffles? for you have turned judgment into bitterness, and the fruit of justice into wormwood.
Modagan ba ang mga kabayo diha sa batoon nga mga pangpang? Modaro ba ang tawo didto pinaagi sa mga baka? Apan gihimo ninyong hilo ang hustisya ug ang bunga sa pagkamatarong ngadto sa pagkapait.
13 You that rejoice in a thing of nought: you that say: Have we not taken unto us horns by our own strength?
Kamo nga nagmaya sa Lo Debar, nga nag-ingon, “Wala ba namo nailog ang Karnaim pinaagi sa among kaugalingong kusog?”
14 But behold, I will raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts; and they shall destroy you from the entrance of Emath, even to the torrent of the desert.
Apan tan-awa, magtuboy ako ug nasod nga makigbatok kaninyo, o balay sa Israel—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh, ang Dios nga makagagahom. Sakiton nila kamo gikan sa Lebo Hamat ngadto sa sapa sa Arabia.”
