Acts 18
1 After these things, departing from Athens, he came to Corinth.
१नंतर पौलाने अथेनै शहर सोडले व करिंथ शहरास गेला.
2 And finding a certain Jew, named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with Priscilla his wife, (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome, ) he came to them.
२करिंथमध्ये पौल एका यहूदी मनुष्यास भेटला ज्याचे नाव अक्विला असे होते, तो पंत प्रांतातील रहिवासी होता, आपली पत्नी प्रिस्किल्ला हिच्यासह नुकताच तो इटलीहून आला होता, कारण सर्व यहूदी लोकांनी रोम शहर सोडून गेले पाहिजे असा हुकूम क्लौद्याने काढला होता, पौल त्यांना भेटावयास गेला.
3 And because he was of the same trade, he remained with them, and wrought; (now they were tentmakers by trade.)
३पौलासारखेच ते तंबू बनवणारे होते, तो त्यांच्याबरोबर राहिला व त्यांच्याबरोबर काम करू लागला.
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, bringing in the name of the Lord Jesus; and he persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
४प्रत्येक शब्बाथवारी पौल सभास्थानात यहूदी लोकांशी व ग्रीक लोकांशी बोलत असे, आणि तो यहूदी व ग्रीक लोकांची मने वळविण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत असे.
5 And when Silas and Timothy were come from Macedonia, Paul was earnest in preaching, testifying to the Jews, that Jesus is the Christ.
५जेव्हा सीला व तीमथ्य हे मासेदोनियाहून परत आले, तेव्हा पौल यहूदी लोकांस उपदेश करण्यात आपला सर्व वेळ घालवू लागला, येशू हाच ख्रिस्त आहे. अशी साक्ष देऊ लागला.
6 But they gainsaying and blaspheming, he shook his garments, and said to them: Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
६परंतु यहूदी लोकांनी पौलाला विरोध केला, त्यास यहूदी लोक वाईट रीतीने बोलले, तेव्हा आपला निषेध दर्शविण्याकरिता पौलाने आपल्या अंगावरील कपडे झटकले, तो यहूदी लोकांस म्हणाला, “जर तुमचे तारण झाले नाही, तर तो तुमचा दोष असेल! तुमचे रक्त तुमच्याच माथी असो! मी निर्दोष आहे, येथून पुढे मी परराष्ट्रीय लोकांकडेच जाईन.”
7 And departing thence, he entered into the house of a certain man, named Titus Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house was adjoining to the synagogue.
७पौल तेथून निघाला आणि सभास्थानाजवळ राहत असलेल्या तीत युस्त नावाचा देवाचा उपासक याच्या घरी गेला.
8 And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing, believed, and were baptized.
८त्या सभास्थानाचा क्रिस्प हा पुढारी होता, क्रिस्पने व त्याच्या घरातील सर्वांनी प्रभूवर विश्वास ठेवला, करिंथ येथील पुष्कळ लोकांनी पौलाचे बोलणे ऐकले आणि विश्वास ठेवला, करिंथ येथील पुष्कळ लोकांनी पौलाचे बोलणे ऐकले आणि विश्वास ठेवला आणि त्यांचा बाप्तिस्मा करण्यात आला.
9 And the Lord said to Paul in the nights, by a vision: Do not fear, but speak; and hold not thy peace,
९एके रात्री, प्रभूने स्वप्नामध्ये पौलाला म्हटले, “घाबरु नको, बोलत राहा, शांत राहू नको.
10 Because I am with thee: and no man shall set upon thee, to hurt thee; for I have much people in this city.
१०मी तुझ्याबरोबर आहे, कोणीही तुझ्यावर हल्ला करणार नाही व तुला इजा करणार नाही; कारण या शहरात माझे पुष्कळ लोक आहेत.”
11 And he stayed there a year and six months, teaching among them the word of God.
११म्हणून पौल तेथे दीड वर्षे देवाचे वचन त्या लोकांस शिकवीत राहिला.
12 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
१२जेव्हा गल्लियो अखया प्रांताचा राज्यपाल होता, त्यावेळेस काही यहूदी पौलविरुद्ध एकत्र आले आणि त्यास न्यायासनापुढे उभे केले.
13 Saying: This man persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
१३यहूदी लोक म्हणाले, “हा मनुष्य अशा रीतीने लोकांस देवाची उपासना करायला शिकवीत आहे की, जे नियमशास्त्राच्या विरुद्ध आहे.”
14 And when Paul was beginning to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews: If it were some matter of injustice, or an heinous deed, O Jews, I should with reason bear with you.
१४पौल काही बोलणार इतक्यात गल्लियो यहूदी लोकांस म्हणाला, “एखादा अपराध किंवा वाईट गोष्ट असती तर तुमचे म्हणणे ऐकून घेणे रास्त ठरले असते.
15 But if they be questions of word and names, and of your law, look you to it: I will not be judge of such things.
१५परंतु ज्याअर्थी ही बाब शब्द, नावे व तुमच्या नियमशास्त्रातील प्रश्नांशी संबंधित आहे, त्याअर्थी तुम्हीच तुमची समस्या सोडवा, अशा गोष्टींबाबत न्याय करण्यास मी नकार देतो.”
16 And he drove them from the judgment seat.
१६मग गल्लियोने त्यांना न्यायासनापुढून घालवून दिले.
17 And all laying hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, beat him before the judgment seat; and Gallio cared for none of those things.
१७मग त्या सर्वांनी सभास्थानाचा प्रमुख सोस्थनेस याला न्यायासनासमोर मारहाण केली, पण गल्लियोने त्याकडे लक्ष दिले नाही.
18 But Paul, when he had stayed yet many days, taking his leave of the brethren, sailed thence into Syria (and with him Priscilla and Aquila), having shorn his head in Cenchrae: for he had a vow.
१८पौल बंधुजनांबरोबर बरेच दिवस राहिला, नंतर तो निघाला व सिरीया प्रांताला समुद्रमार्गे गेला आणि त्याच्याबरोबर प्रिस्किल्ला व अक्विला ही दोघे होती, पौलाने किंख्रिया शहरात आपल्या डोक्याचे मुंडण केले, कारण त्याने नवस केला होता.
19 And he came to Ephesus, and left them there. But he himself entering into the synagogue, disputed with the Jews.
१९मग ते इफिस येथे आले, पौलाने प्रिस्किल्ला व अक्विला यांना तेथे सोडले, तो सभास्थानात गेला आणि यहूदी लोकांबरोबर वादविवाद केला.
20 And when they desired him, that he would tarry a longer time, he consented not;
२०जेव्हा त्यांनी त्यास तेथे आणखी काही वेळ थांबण्यासाठी सांगितले, तेव्हा तो कबूल झाला नाही.
21 But taking his leave, and saying: I will return to you again, God willing, he departed from Ephesus.
२१परंतु जाता जाता तो म्हणाला, “देवाची इच्छा असेल तर मी परत तुमच्याकडे येईन” मग तो समुद्रमार्गे इफिसहून निघाला.
22 And going down to Caesarea, he went up to Jerusalem, and saluted the church, and so came down to Antioch.
२२जेव्हा पौल कैसरीया येथे आला, तेव्हा तो तेथून वर यरूशलेम शहरास गेला आणि मंडळीला भेटला, मग तो खाली अंत्युखियाला गेला.
23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went through the country of Galatia and Phrygia, in order, confirming all the disciples.
२३तेथे काही दिवस राहिल्यानंतर तो गेला आणि गलतिया व फ्रुगिया या प्रदेशातून ठिकठिकाणी प्रवास करीत गेला, त्याने येशूच्या अनुयायांना विश्वासात बळकट केले.
24 Now a certain Jew, named Apollo, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus, one mighty in the scriptures.
२४अपुल्लो नावाचा एक यहूदी होता, तो आलेक्सांद्र शहरात जन्मला होता, तो उच्च शिक्षित होता, तो इफिस येथे आला, त्यास शास्त्रलेखाचे सखोल ज्ञान होते.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, spoke, and taught diligently the things that are of Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John.
२५परमेश्वराच्या मार्गाचे शिक्षण त्यास देण्यात आले होते, तो आत्म्यात आवेशी असल्यामुळे येशूविषयी अचूकतेने शिकवीत असे व बोलत असे, तरी त्यास फक्त योहानाचा बाप्तिस्माच ठाऊक होता.
26 This man therefore began to speak boldly in the synagogue. Whom when Priscilla and Aquila had heard, they took him to them, and expounded to him the way of the Lord more diligently.
२६तो सभास्थानात निर्भीडपणे बोलू लागला, तेव्हा प्रस्किला व अक्विला ह्यांनी त्यांचे भाषण ऐकूण त्यास जवळ बोलावून घेतले व त्यास देवाचा मार्ग अधिक स्पष्टपणे दाखविला.
27 And whereas he was desirous to go to Achaia, the brethren exhorting, wrote to the disciples to receive him. Who, when he was come, helped them much who had believed.
२७अपुल्लोला अखया देशाला जायचे होते, तेव्हा बंधुंनी त्यास उत्तेजन दिले आणि तेथील येशूच्या शिष्यांना त्याचे स्वागत करण्याविषयी लिहिले, जेव्हा तो पोहोंचला, तेव्हा ज्यांनी कृपेमुळे विश्वास ठेवला होता, त्यांना त्याने खूप मदत केली.
28 For with much vigour he convinced the Jews openly, shewing by the scriptures, that Jesus is the Christ.
२८जाहीर वादविवादात त्याने यहूदी लोकांस फार जोरदारपणे पराभूत केले आणि पवित्र शास्त्रलेखाच्या आधारे येशू हाच ख्रिस्त आहे हे सिद्ध केले.
