2 Samuel 15
1 Now after these things Absalom made himself chariots, and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
അനന്തരം അബ്ശാലോം ഒരു രഥത്തെയും കുതിരകളെയും തന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഓടുവാൻ അമ്പതു അകമ്പടികളെയും സമ്പാദിച്ചു.
2 And Absalom rising up early stood by the entrance of the gate, and when any man had business to come to the king’s judgment, Absalom called him to him, and said: Of what city art thou? He answered, and said: Thy servant is of such a tribe of Israel.
അബ്ശാലോം അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു പടിവാതില്ക്കൽ വഴിയരികെ നില്ക്കും; ആരെങ്കിലും വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വിസ്താരത്തിന്നായി വരുമ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നീ ഏതു പട്ടണക്കാരൻ എന്നു ചോദിക്കും; അടിയൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഇന്ന ഗോത്രക്കാരൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറയുമ്പോൾ
3 And Absalom answered him: Thy words seem to me good and just. But there is no man appointed by the king to hear thee. And Absalom said:
അബ്ശാലോം അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കാൎയ്യം ന്യായവും നേരുമുള്ളതു; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ കാൎയ്യം കേൾപ്പാൻ രാജാവു ആരെയും കല്പിച്ചാക്കീട്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറയും.
4 O that they would make me judge over the land, that all that have business might come to me, that I might do them justice.
ഹാ, വഴക്കും വ്യവഹാരവും ഉള്ളവരൊക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിട്ടു ഞാൻ അവൎക്കു ന്യായം തീൎപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ രാജ്യത്തു ന്യായാധിപനാക്കിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നും അബ്ശാലോം പറയും.
5 Moreover when any man came to him to salute him, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.
ആരെങ്കിലും അവനെ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ അടുത്തു ചെന്നാൽ അവൻ കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ചുംബനം ചെയ്യും.
6 And this he did to all Israel that came for judgment, to be heard by the king, and he enticed the hearts of the men of Israel.
രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു വരുന്ന എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനോടും അബ്ശാലോം ഇവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങനെ അബ്ശാലോം യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ ഹൃദയം വശീകരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
7 And after forty years, Absalom said to king David: Let me go, and pay my vows which I have vowed to the Lord in Hebron.
നാലുസംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു നേൎന്ന ഒരു നേൎച്ച ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ചെന്നു കഴിപ്പാൻ അനുവാദം തരേണമേ.
8 For thy servant made avow, when he was in Gessur of Syria, saying: If the Lord shall bring me again into Jerusalem I will offer sacrifice to the Lord.
യഹോവ എന്നെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തിയാൽ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു ആരാധന കഴിക്കും എന്നു അടിയൻ അരാമിലെ ഗെശൂരിൽ പാൎത്ത കാലം ഒരു നേൎച്ച നേൎന്നിരുന്നു.
9 And king David said to him: Go in peace. And he arose, and went to Hebron.
രാജാവു അവനോടു: സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഹെബ്രോനിലേക്കു പോയി.
10 And Absalom sent spies into all the tribes of Israel, saying: As soon as you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, say ye: Absalom reigneth in Hebron.
എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലാടവും ചാരന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ കാഹളനാദം കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറവിൻ എന്നു പറയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
11 Now there went with Absalom two hundred men out of Jerusalem that were called, going with simplicity of heart, and knowing nothing of the design.
അബ്ശാലോമിനോടുകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി ഇരുനൂറു പേർ പോയിരുന്നു. അവർ ഒന്നും അറിയാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ പരമാൎത്ഥതയിലായിരുന്നു പോയതു.
12 Absalom also sent for Achitophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, from his city Gilo. And while he was offering sacrifices, there was a strong conspiracy, and the people running together increased with Absalom.
അബ്ശാലോം യാഗം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദാവീദിന്റെ മന്ത്രിയായ അഹീഥോഫെൽ എന്ന ഗീലോന്യനെയും അവന്റെ പട്ടണമായ ഗീലോനിൽനിന്നു ആളയച്ചുവരുത്തി; ഇങ്ങനെ ജനം നിത്യം അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടുകയാൽ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടിന്നു ബലം ഏറിവന്നു.
13 And there came a messenger to David, saying: All Israel with their whole heart followeth Absalom.
അനന്തരം ഒരു ദൂതൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ ഹൃദയം അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു യോജിച്ചുപോയി എന്നറിയിച്ചു.
14 And David said to his servants, that were with him in Jerusalem: Arise and let us flee: for we shall not escape else from the face of Absalom: make haste to go out, lest he come and overtake us, and bring ruin upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.
അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് യെരൂശലേമിൽ തന്നോടു കൂടെയുള്ള സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരോടും: നാം എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഓടിപ്പോക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നമ്മിൽ ആരും അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റിപ്പോകയില്ല; അവൻ പെട്ടെന്നു വന്നു നമ്മെ പിടിച്ചു നമുക്കു അനൎത്ഥം വരുത്തുകയും പട്ടണത്തെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ക്ഷണത്തിൽ പുറപ്പെടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15 And the king’s servants said to him: Whatsoever our lord the king shall command, we thy servants will willingly execute.
രാജഭൃത്യന്മാർ രാജാവിനോടു: യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ഹിതമൊക്കെയും അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മതം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 And the king went forth, and all his household on foot: and the king left ten women his concubines to keep the house:
അങ്ങനെ രാജാവു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും അവനെ പിഞ്ചെന്നു; എന്നാൽ രാജധാനി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ രാജാവു പത്തു വെപ്പാട്ടികളെ താമസിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.
17 And the king going forth and all Israel on foot, stood afar off from the house:
ഇങ്ങനെ രാജാവു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ജനമൊക്കെയും പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; അവർ ബേത്ത്-മെർഹാക്കിൽ നിന്നു;
18 And all his servants walked by him, and the bands of the Cerethi, and the Phelethi, and all the Gethites, valiant warriors, six hundred men who had followed him from Geth on foot, went before the king.
അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും അവന്റെ അരികത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോയി; എല്ലാക്രേത്യരും എല്ലാപ്ലേത്യരും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു പോന്നിരുന്ന അറുനൂറുപേരായ എല്ലാഗിത്യരും രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കടന്നുപോയി.
19 And the king said to Ethai the Gethite: Why comest thou with us? return and dwell with the king, for thou art a stranger, and art come out of thy own place.
രാജാവു ഗിത്യനായ ഇത്ഥായിയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീയും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വരുന്നതു എന്തിനു? നീ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പാൎക്ക; നീ പരദേശിയും സ്വദേശഭ്രഷ്ടനും അല്ലോ; നിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു തന്നേ പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക;
20 Yesterday thou camest, and today shalt thou be forced to go forth with us? but I shall go whither I am going: return thou, and take back thy brethren with thee, and the Lord will shew thee mercy, and truth, because thou hast shewn grace and fidelity.
നീ ഇന്നലെ വന്നതേയുള്ളു; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ അലഞ്ഞുനടക്കുമാറാക്കുമോ? ഞാൻ തരം കാണുന്നേടത്തേക്കു പോകുന്നു; നീ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി മടങ്ങിപ്പോക; ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.
21 And Ethai answered the king, saying: As the Lord liveth, and as my lord the king liveth: in what place soever thou shalt be, my lord, O king, either in death, or in life, there will thy servant be.
അതിന്നു ഇത്ഥായി രാജാവിനോടു: യഹോവയാണ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവാണ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവു എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവിടെത്തന്നെ മരണമോ ജീവനോ എന്തു വന്നാലും അടിയനും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 And David said to Ethai: Come, and pass over. And Ethai the Gethite passed, and all the men that were with him, and the rest of the people.
ദാവീദ് ഇത്ഥായിയോടു: നീ കൂടെ പോരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ ഗിത്യനായ ഇത്ഥായിയും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും എല്ലാം കടന്നുപോയി.
23 And they all wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself went over the brook Cedron, and all the people marched towards the way that looketh to the desert.
ദേശത്തൊക്കെയും വലിയ കരച്ചലായി; ജനമെല്ലാം കടന്നുപായി; രാജാവും കിദ്രോൻതോടു കടന്നു; ജനമൊക്കെയും മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിക്കു പോയി.
24 And Sadoc the priest also came, and all the Levites with him carrying the ark of the covenant of God, and they set down the ark of God: and Abiathar went up, till all the people that was come out of the city had done passing.
സാദോക്കും അവനോടുകൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നിയമപ്പെട്ടകം ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു എല്ലാലേവ്യരും വന്നു. അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം താഴെ വെച്ചു, ജനമൊക്കെയും പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു കടന്നുതീരുംവരെ അബ്യാഥാർ മലകയറി ചെന്നു.
25 And the king said to Sadoc: Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find grace in the sight of the Lord, he will bring me again, and he will shew me it, and his tabernacle.
രാജാവു സാദോക്കിനോടു: നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുപോക; യഹോവെക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപ തോന്നിയാൽ അവൻ എന്നെ മടിക്കവരുത്തും; ഇതും തിരുനിവാസവും കാണ്മാൻ എനിക്കു ഇടയാകും.
26 But if he shall say to me: Thou pleasest me not: I am ready, let him do that which is good before him.
അല്ല, എനിക്കു നിന്നിൽ പ്രസാദമില്ല എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഇതാ, ഞാൻ ഒരുക്കം; അവൻ തനിക്കു ഹിതമാകുംവണ്ണം എന്നോടു ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27 And the king said to Sadoc the priest: O seer, return into the city in peace: and let Achimaas thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar, your two sons, be with you.
രാജാവു പിന്നെയും പുരോഹിതനായ സാദോക്കിനോടു: ദൎശകാ, നീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോക; നിങ്ങളുടെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ, നിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീമാസും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ യോനാഥാനും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
28 Behold I will lie hid in the plains of the wilderness, till there come word from you to certify me.
എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു സൂക്ഷ്മവൎത്തമാനം കിട്ടുംവരെ ഞാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള കടവിങ്കൽ താമസിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 So Sadoc and Abiathar carried back the ark of God into Jerusalem: and they tarried there.
അങ്ങനെ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി, അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.
30 But David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, going up and weeping, walking barefoot, and with his head covered, and all the people that were with them, went up with their heads covered weeping.
ദാവീദ് തല മൂടിയും ചെരിപ്പിടാതെയും നടന്നു കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു ഒലിവുമലയുടെ കയറ്റം കയറി; കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും തല മൂടി കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു കയറിച്ചെന്നു.
31 And it was told David that Achitophel also was in the conspiracy with Absalom, and David said: Infatuate, O Lord, I beseech thee, the counsel of Achitophel.
അബ്ശാലോമിനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുകാരിൽ അഹീഥോഫെലും ഉണ്ടെന്നു ദാവീദിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ: യഹോവേ, അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെ അബദ്ധമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
32 And when David was come to the top of the mountain, where he was about to adore the Lord, behold Chusai the Arachite, came to meet him with his garment rent and his head covered with earth.
പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് മലമുകളിൽ ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിച്ചുവന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അൎഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായി അങ്കി കീറിയും തലയിൽ മണ്ണു വാരിയിട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നെതിരെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
33 And David said to him: If thou come with me, thou wilt be a burden to me:
അവനോടു ദാവീദ് പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്നാൽ എനിക്കു ഭാരമായിരിക്കും.
34 But if thou return into the city, and wilt say to Absalom: I am thy servant, O king: as I have been thy father’s servant, so I will be thy servant: thou shalt defeat the counsel of Achitophel.
എന്നാൽ നീ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജാവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസനായിരുന്നുകൊള്ളാം; ഞാൻ ഇതുവരെ നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ദാസൻ ആയിരുന്നതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദാസനായിരിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ നിനക്കു അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെ വ്യൎത്ഥമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും.
35 And thou hast with thee Sadoc, and Abiathar the priests: and what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king’s house, thou shalt tell it to Sadoc and Abiathar the priests.
അവിടെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരും ഉണ്ടു. അതുകൊണ്ടു രാജധാനിയിൽ നിന്നു കേൾക്കുന്ന വൎത്തമാനമൊക്കെയും നീ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനെയും അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും അറിയിക്കേണം.
36 And there are with them their two sons Achimaas the son of Sadoc, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar: and you shall send by them to me every thing that you shall hear.
അവിടെ അവരോടു കൂടെ അവരുടെ രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ, സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീമാസും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ യോനാഥാനും ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുന്ന വൎത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും അവർമുഖാന്തരം എന്നെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ.
37 Then Chusai the friend of David went into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനായ ഹൂശായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു. അബ്ശാലോമും യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി.
