1 And Athalia the mother of Ochozias seeing that her son was dead, arose, and slew all the royal seed.
Nígbà tí Ataliah ìyá Ahasiah rí i wí pé ọmọ rẹ̀ ti kú, ó tẹ̀síwájú láti pa gbogbo ìdílé ọba náà run.
2 But Josaba the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, took Joas the son of Ochozias, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, out of the bedchamber with his nurse: and hid him from the face of Athalia, so that he was not slain.
Ṣùgbọ́n Jehoṣeba ọmọbìnrin ọba Jehoramu àti arábìnrin Ahasiah, mú Joaṣi ọmọ Ahasiah, ó sì jí i lọ kúrò láàrín àwọn ọmọ-aládébìnrin ti ọba náà, tí ó kù díẹ̀ kí a pa. Ó gbé òhun àti olùtọ́jú rẹ̀ sínú ìyẹ̀wù láti fi pamọ́ kúrò fún Ataliah; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a kò pa á.
3 And he was with her six years hid in the house of the Lord. And Athalia reigned over the land.
Ó wà ní ìpamọ́ pẹ̀lú olùtọ́jú ní ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa fún ọdún mẹ́fà nígbà tí Ataliah fi jẹ ọba lórí ilẹ̀ náà.
4 And in the seventh year Joiada seat, and taking the centurions and the soldiers, brought them in to him into the temple of the Lord, and made a covenant with them: and taking an oath of them in the house of the Lord, shewed them the king’s son:
Ní ọdún keje, Jehoiada ránṣẹ́ ó sí mú àwọn olórí lórí ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún, pẹ̀lú àwọn balógun àti àwọn olùṣọ́, ó sì mú wọn wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ nínú ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa. Ó ṣe májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú wọn, ó sì fi wọ́n sí abẹ́ ìbúra nínú ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa. Níbẹ̀ ni ó fi ọmọkùnrin ọba hàn wọ́n.
5 And he commanded them, saying: This is the thing that you must do:
Ó pàṣẹ fún wọn, wí pé, “Ìwọ tí ó wà nínú àwọn ẹgbẹ́ mẹ́tẹ̀ẹ̀ta tí ó ń lọ fún iṣẹ́ ìsìn ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi—ìdámẹ́ta yín fún ṣíṣọ́ ààfin ọba.
6 Let a third part of you go in on the sabbath, and keep the watch of the king’s house. And let a third part be at the gate of Sur: and let a third part be at the gate behind the dwelling of the shieldbearers: and you shall keep the watch of the house of Messa.
Ìdámẹ́ta ní ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn huri, àti ìdámẹ́ta ní ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn ní ẹ̀yìn olùṣọ́, tí ó yípadà ní ṣíṣọ́ ilé tí a kọ́,
7 But let two parts of you, all that go forth on the sabbath, keep the watch of the house of the Lord about the king.
àti ẹ̀yin tí ó wà ní ẹgbẹ́ kejì yòókù tí kì í lọ ibi iṣẹ́ ìsìn ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi gbogbo ni kí ó ṣọ́ ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa fún ọba.
8 And you shall compass him round about, having weapons in your hands: and if any man shall enter the precinct of the temple, let him be slain: and you shall be with the king coming in and going out.
Ẹ mú ibùjókòó yín yí ọba ká, olúkúlùkù ọkùnrin pẹ̀lú ohun ìjà rẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀. Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá súnmọ́ ọgbà yìí gbọdọ̀ kú. Ẹ dúró súnmọ́ ọba ní ibikíbi tí ó bá lọ.”
9 And the centurions did according to all things that Joiada the priest had commanded them: and taking every one their men, that went in on the sabbath, with them that went out on the sabbath, came to Joiada the priest.
Olórí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí Jehoiada àlùfáà ti pa á láṣẹ. Olúkúlùkù mú àwọn ọkùnrin rẹ̀ àwọn tí ó ń lọ sí iṣẹ́ ìsìn ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi àti àwọn tí wọ́n wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ Jehoiada àlùfáà.
10 And he gave them the spears, and the arms of king David, which were in the house of the Lord.
Nígbà náà, ó fún àwọn olórí ní àwọn ọ̀kọ̀ àti àwọn àpáta tí ó ti jẹ́ ti ọba Dafidi tí ó sì wà nínú ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa.
11 And they stood having every one their weapons in their hands, from the right side of the temple, unto the left side of the altar, and of the temple, about the king.
Àwọn olùṣọ́, olúkúlùkù pẹ̀lú ohun ìjà rẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀, wọ́n sì dúró ṣinṣin yìí ọba ká—lẹ́bàá pẹpẹ àti ilé ìhà gúúsù sí ìhà àríwá ilé tí a kọ́ fun Olúwa náà.
12 And he brought forth the king’s son, and put the diadem upon him, and the testimony: and they made him king, and anointed him: and clapping their hands. they said, God save the king.
Jehoiada mú ọmọkùnrin ọba jáde, ó sì gbé adé náà lé e: ó fún un ní ẹ̀dà májẹ̀mú, wọ́n sì kéde ọba rẹ̀. Wọ́n fi àmì òróró yàn án, àwọn ènìyàn pa àtẹ́wọ́, wọ́n sì kígbe, “Kí ẹ̀mí ọba kí ó gùn.”
13 And Athalia heard the noise of the people running: and going in to the people into the temple of the Lord,
Nígbà tí Ataliah gbọ́ ariwo tí àwọn olùṣọ́ àti àwọn ènìyàn ń pa, ó lọ sí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn nínú ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa.
14 She saw the king standing upon a tribunal, as the manner was, and the singers, and the trumpets near him, and all the people of the land rejoicing, and sounding the trumpets: and she rent her garments, and cried: A conspiracy, a conspiracy.
Ó wò ó, níbẹ̀ ni ọba, tí ó dúró lẹ́bàá òpó, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àṣà ti rí. Àwọn balógun àti àwọn afùnpè wà ní ẹ̀bá ọba, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilé náà sì ń yọ̀, wọ́n sì ń fun ìpè pẹ̀lú. Nígbà náà Ataliah fa aṣọ ìgúnwà rẹ̀ ya. Ó sì kégbe pé, “Ọ̀tẹ̀! Ọ̀tẹ̀!”
15 But Joiada commended the centurions that were over the army, and said to them: Have her forth without the precinct of the temple, and whosoever shall follow her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest had said: Let her not be slain in the temple of the Lord.
Jehoiada àlùfáà pàṣẹ fún olórí ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún, ta ni ó wà ní ìkáwọ́ ọ̀wọ́ ogun: “Mú u jáde láàrín àwọn ẹgbẹ́ ogun yìí kí o sì fi sí ipa idà ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá tẹ̀lé.” Nítorí àlùfáà ti sọ, “A kò gbọdọ̀ pa á nínú ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa.”
16 And they laid hands on her: and thrust her out by the way by which the horses go in, by the palace, and she was slain there.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n fi agbára mú un bí ó ti dé ibi tí àwọn ẹṣin tí ń wọ ilẹ̀ ààfin ọba àti níbẹ̀ ni a ti pa á.
17 And Joiada made a covenant between the Lord, and the king, and the people, that they should be the people of the Lord, and between the king and the people.
Nígbà náà ni Jehoiada dá májẹ̀mú láàrín Olúwa àti ọba àti àwọn ènìyàn tí yóò jẹ́ ènìyàn Olúwa. Ó dá májẹ̀mú láàrín ọba àti àwọn ènìyàn pẹ̀lú.
18 And all the people of the land went into the temple of Baal, and broke down his altars, and his images they broke in pieces thoroughly: they slew also Mathan the priest of Baal before the altar. And the priest set guards in the house of the Lord.
Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà lọ sí ilé tí a kọ́ fún òrìṣà Baali wọ́n sì ya á bolẹ̀. Wọ́n fọ́ àwọn pẹpẹ àti òrìṣà sí wẹ́wẹ́. Wọ́n sì pa Mattani àlùfáà Baali níwájú àwọn pẹpẹ. Nígbà náà, Jehoiada àlùfáà náà sì yan àwọn olùṣọ́ sí ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa.
19 And he took the centurions, and the bands of the Cerethi and the Phelethi, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king from the house of the Lord: and they came by the way of the gate of the shieldbearers into the palace. and he sat on the throne of the kings.
Ó mú pẹ̀lú u rẹ̀ àwọn olórí ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún àti gbogbo balógun àti àwọn olùṣọ́ àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà àti lápapọ̀, wọ́n mú ọba sọ̀kalẹ̀ wá láti ilé tí a kọ́ fún Olúwa. Wọ́n sì wọ inú ààfin lọ, wọ́n sì wọlé nípa ìlẹ̀kùn ti àwọn olùṣọ́. Ọba sì mú ààyè rẹ̀ ní orí ìtẹ́ ọba.
20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet: but Athalia was slain with the sword in the king’s house.
Gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà sì yọ̀, ìlú náà sì dákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́. Nítorí a pa Ataliah pẹ̀lú idà náà ní ààfin ọba.
21 Now Joas was seven years old, when he began to reign.
Joaṣi jẹ́ ọmọ ọdún méje nígbà tí ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ ìjọba rẹ̀.
