< 2 Kings 11 >

1 And Athalia the mother of Ochozias seeing that her son was dead, arose, and slew all the royal seed.
Esi Atalia, Ahazia dada kpɔ be ye viŋutsu ku la, eyi ɖawu fia la ƒe ƒometɔwo katã,
2 But Josaba the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, took Joas the son of Ochozias, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, out of the bedchamber with his nurse: and hid him from the face of Athalia, so that he was not slain.
Ke Yehoseba, Fia Yoram ƒe vinyɔnu, ame si ganye Ahazia nɔvinyɔnu kplɔ Yoas, Ahazia ƒe viŋutsu eye wòfii dzoe tso fiaviŋutsu siwo wodi be woawu la dome. Etsɔ Yoas kple edzikpɔla ɣla ɖe xɔ aɖe me le gbedoxɔ me eye wòɣlae ɖe Atalia, ale womete ŋu wui o.
3 And he was with her six years hid in the house of the Lord. And Athalia reigned over the land.
Yoas kple eƒe dzikpɔla be ɖe Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ la me ƒe ade le esime Atalia nɔ anyigba la dzi ɖum.
4 And in the seventh year Joiada seat, and taking the centurions and the soldiers, brought them in to him into the temple of the Lord, and made a covenant with them: and taking an oath of them in the house of the Lord, shewed them the king’s son:

5 And he commanded them, saying: This is the thing that you must do:
eye wòde se na wo gblɔ bena, “Nu si miawɔ lae nye esi: Mi ame siwo wɔa dɔ le Dzudzɔgbe la dzi la ƒe akpa etɔ̃lia ɖeka adzɔ fiasã la ŋu.
6 Let a third part of you go in on the sabbath, and keep the watch of the king’s house. And let a third part be at the gate of Sur: and let a third part be at the gate behind the dwelling of the shieldbearers: and you shall keep the watch of the house of Messa.
Akpa etɔ̃awo dometɔ ɖeka nanɔ Sur gbo la ŋu dzɔm eye akpa mamlɛa nanɔ agbo si le gbedoxɔ ƒe agbo si le ame si dzɔa gbedoxɔ la ŋu la megbe.
7 But let two parts of you, all that go forth on the sabbath, keep the watch of the house of the Lord about the king.
Mi ame siwo le akpa eve bubuawo me la, ame siwo mewɔa dɔ le Dzudzɔgbe la dzi o la, miawo midzɔ gbedoxɔ la ŋu na fia la.
8 And you shall compass him round about, having weapons in your hands: and if any man shall enter the precinct of the temple, let him be slain: and you shall be with the king coming in and going out.
Miɖe to ɖe fia la, eye ame sia ame nalé aʋawɔnu ɖe asi. Woawu ame sia ame si adi be yeadze mi. Minɔ fia la ŋu kplikplikpli.”
9 And the centurions did according to all things that Joiada the priest had commanded them: and taking every one their men, that went in on the sabbath, with them that went out on the sabbath, came to Joiada the priest.
Aʋafia si kpɔa asrafo alafa ɖeka dzi la wɔ nunɔla Yehoiada ƒe ɖoɖoawo dzi. Aʋafiawo kplɔ ame siwo manɔ dɔ me le Dzudzɔgbe la dzi o kple esiwo anɔ dɔ me gbe ma gbe la siaa yi na nunɔla Yehoiada.
10 And he gave them the spears, and the arms of king David, which were in the house of the Lord.
Etsɔ Fia David ƒe akplɔ kple akpoxɔnu siwo nɔ Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ la me de asi na aʋafiawo.
11 And they stood having every one their weapons in their hands, from the right side of the temple, unto the left side of the altar, and of the temple, about the king.
Dzɔla ɖe sia ɖe lé eƒe aʋawɔnu ɖe asi eye wonɔ tsitre ƒo xlã fia la, ame si te ɖe vɔsamlekpui la ŋu le gbedoxɔ la me. Woɖe to ɖee tso gbedoxɔ la ƒe dziehe yi anyiehe.
12 And he brought forth the king’s son, and put the diadem upon him, and the testimony: and they made him king, and anointed him: and clapping their hands. they said, God save the king.
Yehoiada kplɔ fiavi ŋutsuvi la do goe, ɖɔ fiakuku nɛ; tsɔ Nubabla ƒe seawo de asi nɛ eye wòɖoe fiae. Esi ami nɛ, ame sia ame ƒo asikpe kplokplokplo eye wodo ɣli sesĩe be, “Fia nenɔ agbe tegbee!”
13 And Athalia heard the noise of the people running: and going in to the people into the temple of the Lord,
Esi Atalia se ame siwo le gbedoxɔa ŋu dzɔm kple ameawo ƒe ɣli la, eyi ɖe ame siwo le Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me la gbɔ.
14 She saw the king standing upon a tribunal, as the manner was, and the singers, and the trumpets near him, and all the people of the land rejoicing, and sounding the trumpets: and she rent her garments, and cried: A conspiracy, a conspiracy.
Etsa ŋku eye kpɔ ɖa, fia lae nye ekem, etsi tsitre ɖe sɔti la gbɔ le kɔnu la nu. Dɔdzikpɔlawo kple kpẽkulawo nɔ fia la xa eye anyigba la dzi tɔwo katã nɔ aseye tsom henɔ kpẽawo kum. Tete Atalia dze eƒe awuwo eye wòdo ɣli be, “Nugbeɖoɖoe! Nugbeɖoɖoe!”
15 But Joiada commended the centurions that were over the army, and said to them: Have her forth without the precinct of the temple, and whosoever shall follow her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest had said: Let her not be slain in the temple of the Lord.
Nunɔla Yehoiada de se na ame siwo nɔ asrafo alafa ɖekawo nu, ame siwo nɔ aʋawɔlawo dzi kpɔm la be, “Mikplɔe to ameawo dome vɛ eye miawu ame sia ame si adze eyome.” Elabena nunɔla la gblɔ do ŋgɔ be, “Migawui ɖe Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ me o.”
16 And they laid hands on her: and thrust her out by the way by which the horses go in, by the palace, and she was slain there.

17 And Joiada made a covenant between the Lord, and the king, and the people, that they should be the people of the Lord, and between the king and the people.
Yehoiada wɔ nubabla le Yehowa kple fia la kple dukɔa dome be woanye Yehowa tɔ. Egawɔ nubabla le fia la kple ameawo hã dome.
18 And all the people of the land went into the temple of Baal, and broke down his altars, and his images they broke in pieces thoroughly: they slew also Mathan the priest of Baal before the altar. And the priest set guards in the house of the Lord.
Wo katã woyi Baal ƒe gbedoxɔ me eye wogbãe. Wogbã vɔsamlekpui la kple legbawo le afi ma eye wowu Matan, Baal ƒe nunɔla le vɔsamlekpui la ŋgɔ. Yehoyaɖa ɖo dzɔlawo Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ la ŋu.
19 And he took the centurions, and the bands of the Cerethi and the Phelethi, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king from the house of the Lord: and they came by the way of the gate of the shieldbearers into the palace. and he sat on the throne of the kings.
Eye wòɖe ame alafawo ƒe amegãwo, blafowo kple fiaŋusrafowo kpakple dukɔ hahoo la katã, eye wokplɔ fia la tso Yehowa ƒe gbedoxɔ la me, to dzɔlawo ƒe aƒe ŋu heyi fiasã la me eye fia la nɔ anyi ɖe fiazikpui la dzi.
20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet: but Athalia was slain with the sword in the king’s house.
Amewo katã kpɔ dzidzɔ le dukɔ la me eye ŋutifafa va dua me azɔ elabena wowu Atalia kple yi le afi ma.
21 Now Joas was seven years old, when he began to reign.
Yoas xɔ ƒe adre esi wòzu fia.
