2 Chronicles 3
1 And Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, in mount Moria, which had been shewn to David his father, in the place which David had prepared in the thrashingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Et Salomon commença de bâtir la maison de l'Eternel à Jérusalem, sur la montagne de Morija, qui avait été montrée à David son père, dans le lieu que David son père avait préparé en l'aire d'Ornan Jébusien.
2 And he began to build in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
Et il commença de [la bâtir] le second [jour] du second mois, la quatrième année de son règne.
3 Now these are the foundations, which Solomon laid, to build the house of God, the length by the first measure sixty cubits, the breadth twenty cubits.
Or ce fut ici le dessin de Salomon pour bâtir la maison de Dieu. Pour la première mesure, soixante coudées de long, et vingt coudées de large.
4 And the porch in the front, which was extended in length according to the measure of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits: and the height was a hundred and twenty cubits: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.
Et le porche, qui [était] vis-à-vis de la longueur, en front de la largeur de la maison, [était] de vingt coudées; et la hauteur de six vingt coudées; et il le couvrit par dedans de pur or.
5 And the greater house he ceiled with deal boards, and overlaid them with plates of fine gold throughout: and he graved in them palm trees, and like little chains interlaced with one another.
Et il couvrit la grande maison de bois de sapin; il la couvrit d'un or exquis, et il y releva en bosse des palmes, et des chaînettes.
6 He paved also the floor of the temple with most precious marble, of great beauty.
Et il couvrit la maison de pierres exquises afin qu'elle en fût ornée; et l'or était de l'or de Parvaïm.
7 And the gold of the plates with which he overlaid the house, and the beams thereof, and the posts, and the walls, and the doors was of the finest: and he graved cherubims on the walls.
Il couvrit donc d'or la maison, ses sommiers, ses poteaux, ses murailles, et ses portes, et il entailla des Chérubins dans les murailles.
8 He made also the house of the holy of holies: the length of it according to the breadth of the temple, twenty cubits, and the breadth of it in like manner twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with plates of gold, amounting to about six hundred talents.
Il fit aussi le lieu Très-saint, dont la longueur était de vingt coudées selon la largeur de la maison; et sa largeur, de vingt coudées; et il le couvrit d'un or exquis, montant à six cents talents.
9 He made also nails of gold, and the weight of every nail was fifty sicles: the upper chambers also he overlaid with gold.
Et le poids des clous montait à cinquante sicles d'or; il couvrit aussi d'or les voûtes.
10 He made also in the house of the holy of holies two cherubims of image work: and he overlaid them with gold.
Il fit aussi deux Chérubins en façon d'enfants dans le lieu Très-saint, et les couvrit d'or.
11 The wings of the cherubims were extended twenty cubits, so that one wing was five cubits long, and reached to the wall of the house: and the other was also five cubits long, and reached to the wing of the other cherub.
Et la longueur des ailes des Chérubins était de vingt coudées, tellement qu'une aile avait cinq coudées, et touchait la muraille de la maison; et l'autre aile avait cinq coudées, et touchait l'aile de l'autre Chérubin.
12 In like manner the wing of the other cherub, was five cubits long, and reached to the wall: and his other wing was five cubits long, and touched the wing of the other cherub.
Et une des ailes de l'autre Chérubin, ayant cinq coudées, touchait la muraille de la maison; et l'autre aile ayant cinq coudées, était jointe à l'aile de l'autre Chérubin.
13 So the wings of the two cherubims were spread forth, and were extended twenty cubits: and they stood upright on their feet, and their faces were turned toward the house without.
[Ainsi] les ailes de ces Chérubins étaient étendues le long de vingt coudées, et ils se tenaient droits sur leurs pieds, et leurs faces regardaient vers la maison.
14 He made also a veil of violet, purple, scarlet, and silk: and wrought in it cherubims.
Il fit aussi le voile de pourpre, d'écarlate, de cramoisi, et de fin lin, et y fit par dessus des Chérubins.
15 He made also before the doors of the temple two pillars, which were five and thirty cubits high: and their chapiters were five cubits.
Et au devant de la maison il fit deux colonnes, qui avaient trente-cinq coudées de longueur; et les chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet de chacune étaient de cinq coudées.
16 He made also as it were little chains in the oracle, and he put them on the heads of the pillars: and a hundred pomegranates, which he put between the little chains.
Or comme il avait fait des chaînettes pour l'Oracle, il en mit aussi sur le sommet des colonnes; et il fit cent pommes de grenade, qu'il mit aux chaînettes.
17 These pillars he put at the entrance of the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left: that which was on the right hand, he called Jachin: and that on the left hand, Boot.
Et il dressa les colonnes au devant du Temple, l'une à main droite, et l'autre à main gauche, et il appela celle qui était à la droite, Jakin; et celle qui était à la gauche, Bohaz.
