2 Chronicles 14
1 And Abia slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead: in his days the land was quiet ten years.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅବୀୟଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ପରେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦ-ନଗରରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କବର ଦେଲେ, ଆଉ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଆସା ତାଙ୍କ ପଦରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ। ଏହାଙ୍କ ଅଧିକାର ସମୟରେ ଦେଶ ଦଶ ବର୍ଷ ସୁସ୍ଥିର ରହିଲା।
2 And Asa did that which was good and pleasing in the sight of his God, and he destroyed the altars of foreign worship, and the high places.
ପୁଣି ଆସା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଉତ୍ତମ ଓ ଯଥାର୍ଥ କର୍ମ କଲେ;
3 And broke the statues, and cut down the groves.
କାରଣ ସେ ଅନ୍ୟ (ଦେବଗଣର) ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦି ଓ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥଳୀସକଳ ଦୂର କଲେ ଓ ସ୍ତମ୍ଭସକଳ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପକାଇଲେ ଓ ଆଶେରା ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିସକଳ ଛେଦନ କଲେ;
4 And he commanded Juda to seek the Lord the God of their fathers, and to do the law, and all the commandments.
ଆଉ ସେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଗଣର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବାକୁ, ପୁଣି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଓ ଆଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରତିପାଳନ କରିବାକୁ ଆଦେଶ ଦେଲେ।
5 And he took away out of all the cities of Juda the altars, and temples, and reigned in peace.
ଆହୁରି, ସେ ଯିହୁଦାର ସମସ୍ତ ନଗରରୁ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥଳୀ ଓ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ-ପ୍ରତିମାସବୁ ଦୂର କଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସୁସ୍ଥିର ହେଲା।
6 He built also strong cities in Juda, for he was quiet, and there had no wars risen in his time, the Lord giving peace.
ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶରେ କେତେକ ପ୍ରାଚୀର-ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କଲେ; କାରଣ ସେହି କେତେକ ବର୍ଷ ଦେଶ ସୁସ୍ଥିର ଥିଲା ଓ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବାକୁ ନୋହିଲା; ଯେହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଦେଇଥିଲେ।
7 And he said to Juda: Let us build these cities, and compass them with walls, and fortify them with towers, and gates, and bars, while all is quiet from wars, because we have sought the Lord the God of our fathers, and he hath given us peace round about. So they built, and there was no hinderance in building.
ଏହେତୁ ସେ ଯିହୁଦାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହିସବୁ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ତହିଁର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ପ୍ରାଚୀର ଓ ଦୁର୍ଗ, ଦ୍ୱାର ଓ ଅର୍ଗଳ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରୁ; ଦେଶ ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଅଛି, ଯେହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିଅଛୁ; ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିଅଛୁ ଓ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି।” ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ନଗର ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି କୃତକାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେଲେ।
8 And Asa had in his army of men that bore shields and spears of Juda three hundred thousand, and of Benjamin that bore shields and drew bows, two hundred and eighty thousand, all these were most valiant men.
ଏହି ଆସାଙ୍କର ଯିହୁଦା ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତିନି ଲକ୍ଷ ଢାଲ ଓ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାଧାରୀ ଓ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଦୁଇ ଲକ୍ଷ ଅଶୀ ହଜାର ଢାଲ ଓ ଧନୁର୍ଦ୍ଧାରୀ, ଏକ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ଥିଲେ; ଏସମସ୍ତେ ମହାବିକ୍ରମଶାଳୀ ଲୋକ ଥିଲେ।
9 And Zara the Ethiopian came out against them with his army of ten hundred thousand men, and with three hundred chariots: and he came as far as Maresa.
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ କୂଶଦେଶୀୟ ସେରହ ଦଶ ଲକ୍ଷ ସୈନ୍ୟ ଓ ତିନି ଶହ ରଥ ନେଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସିଲା; ସେ ମାରେଶା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆସିଲା।
10 And Asa went out to meet him, and set his army in array for battle in the vale of Sephata, which is near Maresa:
ସେତେବେଳେ ଆସା ତାହାକୁ ଭେଟିବାକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତେ, ସେମାନେ ମାରେଶା ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ସଫାଥା ଉପତ୍ୟକାରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସଜାଇଲେ।
11 And he called upon the Lord God, and said: O Lord, there is no difference with thee, whether thou help with few, or with many: help us, O Lord our God: for with confidence in thee, and in thy name, we are come against this multitude. O Lord thou art our God, let not man prevail against thee.
ଏଥିରେ ଆସା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଡାକ ପକାଇ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ବଳବାନ ଓ ବଳହୀନ ଲୋକ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭିନ୍ନ ଆଉ କେହି ନାହାନ୍ତି; ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କର; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରୁଅଛୁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନାମରେ ଏହି ଜନତା ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଆସିଅଛୁ। ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟ; ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ଜୟଯୁକ୍ତ ନ ହେଉ।”
12 And the Lord terrified the Ethiopians before Asa and Juda: and the Ethiopians fled.
ଏଥିରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆସା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଓ ଯିହୁଦା ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ କୂଶୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ; ତହୁଁ କୂଶୀୟମାନେ ପଳାୟନ କଲେ।
13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them to Gerara: and the Ethiopians fell even to utter destruction, for the Lord slew them, and his army fought against them, and they were destroyed. And they took abundance of spoils,
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆସା ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗରାର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇଲେ; ତହିଁରେ କୂଶୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ଏତେ ଲୋକ ମାରା ପଡ଼ିଲେ ଯେ, ସେମାନେ ଆଉ ସବଳ ହୋଇ ଉଠି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେଲେ; ଏଣୁ ଯିହୁଦା-ଲୋକମାନେ ଅପାର ଲୁଟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ବହିନେଲେ।
14 And they took all the cities round about Gerara: for a great fear was come upon all men: and they pillaged the cities, and carried off much booty.
ଆଉ, ସେମାନେ ଗରାରର ଚତୁର୍ଦ୍ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ନଗରସବୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଭୟ ସେହି ସବୁ ନଗର ଉପରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା; ପୁଣି ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ନଗର ଲୁଟ କଲେ; କାରଣ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅନେକ ଲୁଟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଥିଲା।
15 And they destroyed the sheepcotes, and took an infinite number of cattle, and of camels: and returned to Jerusalem.
ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନେ ପଶୁପଲର ତମ୍ବୁସବୁ ଆଘାତ କଲେ, ଆଉ ବିସ୍ତର ମେଷ ଓ ଓଟ ନେଇ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଫେରିଗଲେ।
