< 2 Chronicles 10 >
1 And Roboam went to Sichem: for thither all Israel were assembled, to make him king.
Rehoboam el som nu Shechem, yen mwet nukewa epang in Israel elos fahsreni nu we in oru tuh elan tokosrala.
2 And when Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who was in Egypt, (for he was fled thither from Solomon, ) heard it, forthwith he returned.
Ke Jeroboam, wen natul Nebat, su tuh som nu Egypt in kaing lukel Tokosra Solomon, el lohng pweng se inge, na el folokla nu yen sel.
3 And they sent for him, and he came with all Israel, and they spoke to Roboam, saying:
Mwet in sruf epang elos sapla solal, ac elos nukewa tukeni som nu yorol Rehoboam ac fahk nu sel,
4 Thy father oppressed us with a most grievous yoke, do thou govern us with a lighter hand than thy father, who laid upon us a heavy servitude, and ease some thing of the burden, that we may serve thee.
“Papa tomom ah tuh use mwe utuk na toasr nu facsr. Tusruktu kom fin akfusrasryela mwe utuk inge, na kut ac fah mwet kulansap pwaye nu sum.”
5 And he said to them: Come to me again after three days. And when the people were gone,
Na Rehoboam el fahk, “Se nu sik len tolu nga in nunku kac, na kowos fah sifil foloko.” Ouinge mwet uh som.
6 He took counsel with the ancients, who had stood before his father Solomon, while he yet lived, saying: What counsel give you to me, that I may answer the people?
Tokosra Rehoboam el siyuk sin mwet matu su tuh mwet kasru lal Solomon, papa tumal, ac fahk, “Top fuka kowos nunku mu fal nga in sang topuk siyuk lun mwet inge?”
7 And they said to him: If thou please this people, and soothe them with kind words, they will be thy servants for ever.
Elos topuk ac fahk, “Kom fin kulang nu sin mwet ingan ac akinsewowoyalos ac sulela sie top wowo an nu selos, na elos ac fah oaru in kulansupwekom pacl nukewa.”
8 But he forsook the counsel of the ancients, and began to treat with the young men, that had been brought up with him, and were in his train.
Tusruktu el pilesru kas in kasru lun mwet matu, ac som nu yurin mwet fusr su nuna welul ke elos tulik ah me, ac inge el oru mu elos pa mwet kasru lal.
9 And he said to them: What seemeth good to you? or what shall I answer this people, who have said to me: Ease the yoke which thy father laid upon us?
El siyuk selos, “Mea kowos nunku mu wo nga in oru? Ke mwet uh siyuk ngan akmulalaye enu lalos uh, mea nga ac fahk nu selos?”
10 But they answered as young men, and brought up with him in pleasures, and said: Thus shalt thou speak to the people, that said to thee: Thy father made our yoke heavy, do thou ease it: thus shalt thou answer them: My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father.
Elos topuk, “Pa inge ma kom ac fahk nu selos an: ‘Kuf srisrik soko ke pouk uh yohk liki infulwen papa tumuk ah.’
11 My father laid upon you a heavy yoke, and I will add more weight to it: my father beat you with scourges, but I will beat you with scorpions.
Fahk nu selos mu, ‘Papa tumuk el sot enu toasr nu fowos, a nga ac sot in toasr liki. El puok kowos ke mwe sringsring, a nga fah sringil kowos ke scorpion!’”
12 So Jeroboam, and all the people came to Roboam the third day, as he commanded them.
Tukun len tolu, Jeroboam ac mwet nukewa folokla nu yorol Rehoboam, oana ke el tuh fahk nu selos ah.
13 And the king answered roughly, leaving the counsel of the ancients.
Tokosra el pilesru kas in kasru lun mwet matu, a el kaskas upa nu sin mwet uh.
14 And he spoke according to the advice of the young men: My father laid upon you a heavy yoke, which I will make heavier: my father beat you with scourges, but I will beat you with scorpions.
El fahk oana ke mwet fusr wial elos fahk, “Papa tumuk el sot enu toasr nu fowos, a nga ac sot in toasr liki! El puok kowos ke mwe sringsring, a nga ac sringil kowos ke sucl lulap!”
15 And he condescended not to the people’s requests: for it was the will of God, that his word might be fulfilled which he had spoken by the hand of Ahias the Silonite to Jeroboam the son of Nabat.
Pa ingan ma lungse lun LEUM GOD in akpwayeye ma El tuh fahk nu sel Jeroboam, wen natul Nebat, in kas lun mwet palu Ahijah mwet Shiloh. Pa inge sripa se sis tokosra el tiana lohang nu sin mwet uh.
16 And all the people upon the king’s speaking roughly, said thus unto him: We have no part in David, nor inheritance in the son of Isai. Return to thy dwellings, O Israel, and do thou, O David, feed thy own house. And Israel went away to their dwellings.
Ke mwet uh liye tuh tokosra el tiana lohngolos, na elos wowoyak ac fahk, “Tolulla David ac sou lal! Mea elos nu orala nu sesr? Mwet Israel, kut som nu yen sesr! Lela Rehoboam elan sifacna liyalang!” Ouinge mwet Israel elos orek alein,
17 But Roboam reigned over the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Juda.

18 And king Roboam sent Aduram, who was over the tributes, and the children of Israel stoned him, and he died: and king Roboam made haste to gee up into his chariot, and fled into Jerusalem.
Na Tokosra Rehoboam el supwalla Adoniram, su kol orekma lun mwet kohs, elan som nu yurin mwet Israel, a elos tanglal nwe ke el misa. Ke ma inge, Rehoboam el sulaklak sroang nu fin chariot natul, ac kaingla nu Jerusalem.
19 And Israel revolted from the house of David unto this day.
In pacl sac me, mwet epang in Israel elos alein na nu sin mwet nukewa su leum sin fwilin tulik natul David.
