1 Timothy 5
1 An ancient man rebuke not, but entreat him as a father: young men, as brethren:
ત્વં પ્રાચીનં ન ભર્ત્સય કિન્તુ તં પિતરમિવ યૂનશ્ચ ભ્રાતૃનિવ
2 Old women, as mothers: young women, as sisters, in all chastity.
વૃદ્ધાઃ સ્ત્રિયશ્ચ માતૃનિવ યુવતીશ્ચ પૂર્ણશુચિત્વેન ભગિનીરિવ વિનયસ્વ|
3 Honour widows, that are widows indeed.
અપરં સત્યવિધવાઃ સમ્મન્યસ્વ|
4 But if any widow have children, or grandchildren, let her learn first to govern her own house, and to make a return of duty to her parents: for this is acceptable before God.
કસ્યાશ્ચિદ્ વિધવાયા યદિ પુત્રાઃ પૌત્રા વા વિદ્યન્તે તર્હિ તે પ્રથમતઃ સ્વીયપરિજનાન્ સેવિતું પિત્રોઃ પ્રત્યુપકર્ત્તુઞ્ચ શિક્ષન્તાં યતસ્તદેવેશ્વરસ્ય સાક્ષાદ્ ઉત્તમં ગ્રાહ્યઞ્ચ કર્મ્મ|
5 But she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, let her trust in God, and continue in supplications and prayers night and day.
અપરં યા નારી સત્યવિધવા નાથહીના ચાસ્તિ સા ઈશ્વરસ્યાશ્રયે તિષ્ઠન્તી દિવાનિશં નિવેદનપ્રાર્થનાભ્યાં કાલં યાપયતિ|
6 For she that liveth in pleasures, is dead while she is living.
કિન્તુ યા વિધવા સુખભોગાસક્તા સા જીવત્યપિ મૃતા ભવતિ|
7 And this give in charge, that they may be blameless.
અતએવ તા યદ્ અનિન્દિતા ભવેયૂસ્તદર્થમ્ એતાનિ ત્વયા નિદિશ્યન્તાં|
8 But if any man have not care of his own, and especially of those of his house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
યદિ કશ્ચિત્ સ્વજાતીયાન્ લોકાન્ વિશેષતઃ સ્વીયપરિજનાન્ ન પાલયતિ તર્હિ સ વિશ્વાસાદ્ ભ્રષ્ટો ઽપ્યધમશ્ચ ભવતિ|
9 Let a widow be chosen of no less than threescore years of age, who hath been the wife of one husband.
વિધવાવર્ગે યસ્યા ગણના ભવતિ તયા ષષ્ટિવત્સરેભ્યો ન્યૂનવયસ્કયા ન ભવિતવ્યં; અપરં પૂર્વ્વમ્ એકસ્વામિકા ભૂત્વા
10 Having testimony for her good works, if she have brought up children, if she have received to harbour, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have ministered to them that suffer tribulation, if she have diligently followed every good work.
સા યત્ શિશુપોષણેનાતિથિસેવનેન પવિત્રલોકાનાં ચરણપ્રક્ષાલનેન ક્લિષ્ટાનામ્ ઉપકારેણ સર્વ્વવિધસત્કર્મ્માચરણેન ચ સત્કર્મ્મકરણાત્ સુખ્યાતિપ્રાપ્તા ભવેત્ તદપ્યાવશ્યકં|
11 But the younger widows avoid. For when they have grown wanton in Christ, they will marry:
કિન્તુ યુવતી ર્વિધવા ન ગૃહાણ યતઃ ખ્રીષ્ટસ્ય વૈપરીત્યેન તાસાં દર્પે જાતે તા વિવાહમ્ ઇચ્છન્તિ|
12 Having damnation, because they have made void their first faith.
તસ્માચ્ચ પૂર્વ્વધર્મ્મં પરિત્યજ્ય દણ્ડનીયા ભવન્તિ|
13 And withal being idle they learn to go about from house to house: and are not only idle, but tattlers also, and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
અનન્તરં તા ગૃહાદ્ ગૃહં પર્ય્યટન્ત્ય આલસ્યં શિક્ષન્તે કેવલમાલસ્યં નહિ કિન્ત્વનર્થકાલાપં પરાધિકારચર્ચ્ચાઞ્ચાપિ શિક્ષમાણા અનુચિતાનિ વાક્યાનિ ભાષન્તે|
14 I will therefore that the younger should marry, bear children, be mistresses of families, give no occasion to the adversary to speak evil.
અતો મમેચ્છેયં યુવત્યો વિધવા વિવાહં કુર્વ્વતામ્ અપત્યવત્યો ભવન્તુ ગૃહકર્મ્મ કુર્વ્વતાઞ્ચેત્થં વિપક્ષાય કિમપિ નિન્દાદ્વારં ન દદતુ|
15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.
યત ઇતઃ પૂર્વ્વમ્ અપિ કાશ્ચિત્ શયતાનસ્ય પશ્ચાદ્ગામિન્યો જાતાઃ|
16 If any of the faithful have widows, let him minister to them, and let not the church be charged: that there may be sufficient for them that are widows indeed.
અપરં વિશ્વાસિન્યા વિશ્વાસિનો વા કસ્યાપિ પરિવારાણાં મધ્યે યદિ વિધવા વિદ્યન્તે તર્હિ સ તાઃ પ્રતિપાલયતુ તસ્માત્ સમિતૌ ભારે ઽનારોપિતે સત્યવિધવાનાં પ્રતિપાલનં કર્ત્તું તયા શક્યતે|
17 Let the priests that rule well, be esteemed worthy of double honour: especially they who labour in the word and doctrine:
યે પ્રાઞ્ચઃ સમિતિં સમ્યગ્ અધિતિષ્ઠન્તિ વિશેષત ઈશ્વરવાક્યેનોપદેશેન ચ યે યત્નં વિદધતે તે દ્વિગુણસ્યાદરસ્ય યોગ્યા માન્યન્તાં|
18 For the scripture saith: Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
યસ્માત્ શાસ્ત્રે લિખિતમિદમાસ્તે, ત્વં શસ્યમર્દ્દકવૃષસ્યાસ્યં મા બધાનેતિ, અપરમપિ કાર્ય્યકૃદ્ વેતનસ્ય યોગ્યો ભવતીતિ|
19 Against a priest receive not an accusation, but under two or three witnesses.
દ્વૌ ત્રીન્ વા સાક્ષિણો વિના કસ્યાચિત્ પ્રાચીનસ્ય વિરુદ્ધમ્ અભિયોગસ્ત્વયા ન ગૃહ્યતાં|
20 Them that sin reprove before all: that the rest also may have fear.
અપરં યે પાપમાચરન્તિ તાન્ સર્વ્વેષાં સમક્ષં ભર્ત્સયસ્વ તેનાપરેષામપિ ભીતિ ર્જનિષ્યતે|
21 I charge thee before God, and Christ Jesus, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by declining to either side.
અહમ્ ઈશ્વરસ્ય પ્રભો ર્યીશુખ્રીષ્ટસ્ય મનોનીતદિવ્યદૂતાનાઞ્ચ ગોચરે ત્વામ્ ઇદમ્ આજ્ઞાપયામિ ત્વં કસ્યાપ્યનુરોધેન કિમપિ ન કુર્વ્વન વિનાપક્ષપાતમ્ એતાન વિધીન્ પાલય|
22 Impose not hands lightly upon any man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins. Keep thyself chaste.
કસ્યાપિ મૂર્દ્ધિ હસ્તાપર્ણં ત્વરયા માકાર્ષીઃ| પરપાપાનાઞ્ચાંશી મા ભવ| સ્વં શુચિં રક્ષ|
23 Do not still drink water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake, and thy frequent infirmities.
અપરં તવોદરપીડાયાઃ પુનઃ પુન દુર્બ્બલતાયાશ્ચ નિમિત્તં કેવલં તોયં ન પિવન્ કિઞ્ચિન્ મદ્યં પિવ|
24 Some men’s sins are manifest, going before to judgment: and some men they follow after.
કેષાઞ્ચિત્ માનવાનાં પાપાનિ વિચારાત્ પૂર્વ્વં કેષાઞ્ચિત્ પશ્ચાત્ પ્રકાશન્તે|
25 In like manner also good deeds are manifest: and they that are otherwise, cannot be hid.
તથૈવ સત્કર્મ્માણ્યપિ પ્રકાશન્તે તદન્યથા સતિ પ્રચ્છન્નાનિ સ્થાતું ન શક્નુવન્તિ|
