1 Thessalonians 5
1 But of the times and moments, brethren, you need not, that we should write to you;
Tsono abale, za nthawi ndi nyengo yake nʼkosafunikira kuti tikulembereni,
2 For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night.
chifukwa mukudziwa bwino lomwe kuti tsiku la Ambuye lidzafika ngati mbala usiku.
3 For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape.
Pamene anthu akunena kuti, “Mtendere ndi chitetezo,” chiwonongeko chidzafika pa iwo mwadzidzidzi, monga zowawa za amayi pobereka, ndipo sadzathawa.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Koma inu abale, simuli mu mdima kuti tsiku limeneli lidzakudzidzimutseni ngati mbala.
5 For all you are the children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Nonse ndinu ana a kuwunika ndi ana a usana. Sindife anthu a usiku kapena mdima.
6 Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do; but let us watch, and be sober.
Chomwecho tsono, tisafanane ndi ena amene akugona koma tikhale maso ndi odzisunga.
7 For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunk, are drunk in the night.
Pakuti amene akugona, amagona usiku, ndi amene amaledzera, amaledzera usiku.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and charity, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
Koma popeza ndife a usana, tikhale odzisunga, titavala chikhulupiriro ndi chikondi ngati chovala pachifuwa, ndi chiyembekezo cha chipulumutso ngati chipewa.
9 For God hath not appointed us unto wrath, but unto the purchasing of salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Pakuti Mulungu sanatisankhe kuti tikavutike ndi mkwiyo koma kuti tilandire chipulumutso kudzera mwa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu.
10 Who died for us; that, whether we watch or sleep, we may live together with him.
Iye anatifera ndi cholinga chakuti, kaya tili ndi moyo kapena tagona, tikhale naye pamodzi.
11 For which cause comfort one another; and edify one another, as you also do.
Choncho limbikitsanani wina ndi mnzake ndi kuthandizana kukula mu mzimu, monga momwe mukuchitira.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you:
Tsopano tikukupemphani abale kuti muziwalemekeza amene akugwira ntchito pakati panu, amene amakuyangʼanirani mwa Ambuye ndi amene amakulimbikitsani.
13 That you esteem them more abundantly in charity, for their work’s sake. Have peace with them.
Muziwachitira ulemu kwambiri mwachikondi chifukwa cha ntchito yawo. Mukhale pa mtendere wina ndi mnzake.
14 And we beseech you, brethren, rebuke the unquiet, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient towards all men.
Ndipo tikukupemphani abale, muwachenjeze amene akungokhala osagwira ntchito, alimbikitseni amanyazi, thandizani ofowoka ndipo muzilezera mtima aliyense.
15 See that none render evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good towards each other, and towards all men.
Onetsetsani kuti wina asabwezere choyipa kwa omuchitira choyipa koma nthawi zonse yesetsani kukhala okoma mtima kwa wina ndi mnzake; ndiponso ndi kwa anthu ena onse.
16 Always rejoice.
Kondwerani nthawi zonse.
17 Pray without ceasing.
Pempherani kosalekeza.
18 In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all.
Yamikani mu zonse, pakuti ichi ndi chifuniro cha Mulungu kwa inu mwa Khristu Yesu.
19 Extinguish not the spirit.
Musazimitse moto wa Mzimu Woyera.
20 Despise not prophecies.
Musanyoze mawu a uneneri.
21 But prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Yesani zinthu zonse. Gwiritsitsani chimene ndi chabwino.
22 From all appearance of evil refrain yourselves.
Mupewe choyipa cha mtundu wina uliwonse.
23 And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things; that your whole spirit, and soul, and body, may be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mulungu mwini, Mulungu wamtendere, akuyeretseni kotheratu. Mzimu wanu wonse, moyo ndi thupi zisungidwe zopanda cholakwa mpaka kubwera kwa Ambuye athu Yesu Khristu.
24 He is faithful who hath called you, who also will do it.
Amene anakuyitanani ndi wokhulupirika ndipo Iye adzachita zimenezi.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
Abale, mutipempherere.
26 Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
Perekani moni wachikondi kwa onse.
27 I charge you by the Lord, that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.
Pamaso pa Ambuye ndikulamula kuti kalatayi iwerengedwe kwa abale onse.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
