< 1 Thessalonians 2 >
1 For yourselves know, brethren, our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
Anuanom, mo ankasa monim sɛ nsra a yɛbɛsraa mo no anyɛ ɔkwa.
2 But having suffered many things before, and been shamefully treated (as you know) at Philippi, we had confidence in our God, to speak unto you the gospel of God in much carefulness.
Monim ayayadeɛ a wɔyɛɛ yɛn ne ɔyea a wɔyaa yɛn wɔ Filipi ansa na yɛreba mo nkyɛn wɔ Tesalonika. Ɛwom sɛ na nnipa bi tia yɛn deɛ, nanso yɛn Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ yɛn den maa yɛkaa Asɛmpa a ɛfiri ne mu no.
3 For our exhortation was not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deceit:
Asɛmpa a yɛka kyerɛɛ mo no mfiri adwemmɔne anaa nnaadaa mu, na mmom, deɛ yɛkaeɛ no yɛ nokorɛ turodoo.
4 But as we were approved by God that the gospel should be committed to us: even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who proveth our hearts.
Daa yɛka nokorɛ sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn hwehwɛ yɛn sɛ yɛnka no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔpene so na ɔde Asɛmpa no nso ama yɛn sɛ yɛnka. Yɛmpɛ sɛ yɛsɔ nnipa ani, na mmom, Onyankopɔn a ɔsɔ yɛn adwene hwɛ no ani na yɛpɛ sɛ yɛsɔ.
5 For neither have we used, at any time, the speech of flattery, as you know; nor taken an occasion of covetousness, God is witness:
Monim pefee sɛ yɛamma ha sɛ yɛrebɛka nnaadaasɛm akyerɛ mo anaasɛ yɛrebɛka nsɛm sikanibereɛ so. Onyankopɔn ne yɛn adanseɛ.
6 Nor sought we glory of men, neither of you, nor of others.
Sɛ moyɛ Kristo asomafoɔ no enti, anka yɛwɔ ho kwan sɛ yɛpɛ animuonyam firi mo nkyɛn, nanso yɛmmisaa animuonyam mfirii mo anaasɛ onipa foforɔ bi nkyɛn.
7 Whereas we might have been burdensome to you, as the apostles of Christ: but we became little ones in the midst of you, as if a nurse should cherish her children:
Na yɛwɔ mo nkyɛn no, na yɛne mo te ɔdwoɔ so, sɛdeɛ ɔbaatan korɔkorɔ ne mma.
8 So desirous of you, we would gladly impart unto you not only the gospel of God, but also our own souls: because you were become most dear unto us.
Yɛhwɛɛ mo yie, nyaa mo ho anigyeɛ sononko, mpo yɛdaa yɛn ho so sɛ yɛde yɛn nkwa bɛto hɔ ama mo ɛberɛ a yɛde Onyankopɔn Asɛmpa no brɛɛ mo no.
9 For you remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, lest we should be chargeable to any of you, we preached among you the gospel of God.
Anuanom, menim sɛ mokae adwuma a yɛyɛeɛ ne brɛ a yɛbrɛeɛ. Yɛyɛɛ adwuma awia ne anadwo sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn Asɛmpa no ka a yɛka kyerɛɛ mo no, yɛremfa ɔhaw bi mmɛto mo so.
10 You are witnesses, and God also, how holily, and justly, and without blame, we have been to you that have believed:
Mo ne Onyankopɔn yɛ yɛn adansefoɔ. Yɛn suban a yɛdaa no adi kyerɛɛ mo a mogyee Asɛmpa no diiɛ no yɛ kronn a ɛyɛ na mfomsoɔ biara nni ho.
11 As you know in what manner, entreating and comforting you, (as a father doth his children, )
Mo ara monim sɛ yɛne mo tenaa sɛdeɛ agya ne nʼankasa mma tena.
12 We testified to every one of you, that you would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
Yɛhyɛɛ mo nkuran; yɛkyekyeree mo werɛ na yɛkɔɔ so tuu mo fo sɛ montena ase wɔ ɛkwan a ɛsɔ Onyankopɔn a ɔfrɛ mo wɔ nʼAhennie ne nʼanimuonyam mu no so.
13 Therefore, we also give thanks to God without ceasing: because, that when you had received of us the word of the hearing of God, you received it not as the word of men, but (as it is indeed) the word of God, who worketh in you that have believed.
Daa yɛbɛda Onyankopɔn ase wɔ saa asɛm yi ho. Ɛberɛ a yɛkaa Onyankopɔn asɛm kyerɛɛ mo no, motieeɛ, gye dii sɛ ɛnyɛ asɛm a ɛfiri onipa nkyɛn, na mmom, ampa ara sɛ, ɛfiri Onyankopɔn nkyɛn. Mo a moagye adi no, Onyankopɔn yɛ adwuma wɔ mo mu.
14 For you, brethren, are become followers of the churches of God which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered the same things from your own coutrymen, even as they have from the Jews,
Anuanom, nsɛm a ɛtotoo Onyankopɔn asafo a na ɛwowɔ Yudea ne nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ a na wɔyɛ Kristo Yesu nkurɔfoɔ no bi ara na ato mo yi. Ɔtaa a mo ara mo manfoɔ taa mo no, saa ara na Yudafoɔ no nso taa asafo no.
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and please not God, and are adversaries to all men;
Saa nnipa no kumm Awurade Yesu ne adiyifoɔ no, na wɔtaa yɛn nso. Onyankopɔn ani nsɔ wɔn, na wɔne nnipa di asi ɛberɛ biara.
16 Prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end.
Wɔbɔ mmɔden sɛ wɔbɛsi yɛn kwan sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a yɛrentumi nkɔka asɛm a ɛbɛma amanamanmufoɔ no nkwagyeɛ nkyerɛ wɔn. Yei ma wɔn bɔne kɔɔ so daa. Na Onyankopɔn abufuo wɔ wɔn so.
17 But we, brethren, being taken away from you for a short time, in sight, not in heart, have hastened the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
Me nnamfonom, ɛberɛ tiawa bi mu no, yɛantumi amma mo nkyɛn, nanso ɛberɛ biara na yɛdwene mo ho. Yɛpɛɛ sɛ yɛhunu mo, na yɛbɔɔ mmɔden biara sɛ yɛbɛhyia mo ankasa.
18 For we would have come unto you, I Paul indeed, once and again: but Satan hath hindered us.
Yɛpɛɛ sɛ yɛbɛsane aba mo nkyɛn. Me Paulo deɛ, na mepɛ sɛ meba hɔ boro pɛnkorɔ nanso ɔbonsam sii yɛn ho ɛkwan.
19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glory? Are not you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
Nanso, ne nyinaa akyi no, mo nko ara ne yɛn anidasoɔ ne yɛn ahosɛpɛ. Na sɛ yɛbɛtumi ahoahoa yɛn ho nkonimdie mu wɔ Awurade Yesu anim wɔ ne ba no mu a, ɛgyina mo so.
20 For you are our glory and joy.
Nokorɛm, yɛn ahohoahoa ne yɛn ahosɛpɛ gyina mo so.
