< 1 Peter 2 >
1 Wherefore laying away all malice, and all guile, and dissimulations, and envies, and all detractions,
Montwe mo ho mfiri bɔne nyinaa, atorɔ anaa nyaatwom anaa anibereɛ anaa nsekuro ho.
2 As newborn babes, desire the rational milk without guile, that thereby you may grow unto salvation:
Monyɛ sɛ nkɔkoaa a ɛberɛ biara sukɔm de mo, sɛ mobɛnya honhom mu nufosuo kronn anom, na sɛ monom a moanyini na wɔagye mo nkwa.
3 If so be you have tasted that the Lord is sweet.
Sɛdeɛ Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Moaka Awurade ayamyɛ no ahwɛ.”
4 Unto whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and made honourable by God:
Mommra Awurade a ɔyɛ ɛboɔ a nkwa wom no nkyɛn. Ɔno na nnipa poo no, na Onyankopɔn yii no sɛ nʼadeɛ a ɛsom bo.
5 Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Mo nso mote sɛ aboɔ a nkwa wɔ mu a wɔde mo resi ɛdan a honhom ahyɛ no ma. Ɛhɔ na mobɛsom sɛ asɔfoɔ Kronkron a monam Yesu Kristo so bɛbɔ honhom mu afɔdeɛ a ɛdi mu ama Onyankopɔn.
6 Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded.
Na Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Mayi ɛboɔ a ɛho hia a mede bɛyɛ Sion tweatiboɔ a obiara a ɔbɛgye no adi no, wɔrenni no hwammɔ.”
7 To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:
Saa ɛboɔ yi ho wɔ mfasoɔ yie ma mo a mogye di. Na wɔn a wɔnnye nni no: “Ɛboɔ a adansifoɔ apo no, ɛno ara na abɛyɛ tweatiboɔ.”
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set.
Wɔka bio wɔ Atwerɛsɛm no mu sɛ, “Saa ɛboɔ yi na ɛbɛma nnipa asunti; ɔbotan a ɛbɛma wɔahwe ase.” Wɔsuntiiɛ ɛfiri sɛ na wɔnnye asɛm no nni. Saa na Onyankopɔn hyɛeɛ.
9 But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Na mo deɛ, moyɛ nnipa a wɔayi mo, sɛ ɔhene asɔfoɔ, ɔman kronkron, Onyankopɔn ankasa nkurɔfoɔ a wɔayi mo sɛ monka nʼanwanwadwuma no ho asɛm. Ɔno na ɔfrɛɛ mo firi sum mu baa nʼankasa hann nwanwaso no mu.
10 Who in time past were not a people: but are now the people of God. Who had not obtained mercy; but now have obtained mercy.
Nna bi a atwam no, na monyɛ Onyankopɔn nkurɔfoɔ nanso afei, moyɛ ne nkurɔfoɔ; nna bi a atwam no na monnim Onyankopɔn ahummɔborɔ no, nanso seesei, moanya nʼahummɔborɔ no.
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, to refrain yourselves from carnal desires which war against the soul,
Mʼadɔfoɔ, mekasa kyerɛ mo sɛ ahɔhoɔ ne amamfrafoɔ a mowɔ ewiase. Montwe mo ho mfiri honam akɔnnɔ a daa ɛne ɔkra no di asie no ho.
12 Having your conversation good among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by the good works, which they shall behold in you, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Mommɔ ɔbra pa wɔ amanaman a mofra wɔn mu no mu, na sɛ wɔka mo ho nsɛm sɛ moyɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ a, wɔahunu mo papa a moayɛ no nso, nam so ahyɛ Onyankopɔn animuonyam ɛda a ɔbɛba no.
13 Be ye subject therefore to every human creature for God’s sake: whether it be to the king as excelling;
Mommrɛ mo ho ase wɔ Awurade din mu mma tumidie a ɛyɛ ewiase nhyehyɛeɛ nyinaa: Ni titire Ɔhempɔn a ɔdi obiara so.
14 Or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of the good:
Mommrɛ mo ho ase mma amradofoɔ, ɛfiri sɛ Ɔhempɔn na wasoma wɔn sɛ wɔntwe nnebɔneyɛfoɔ aso na wɔmmɔ wɔn a wɔyɛ papa no aba so.
15 For so is the will of God, that by doing well you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
Onyankopɔn ahyɛdeɛ ne sɛ, ɔpɛ sɛ monam mo nneyɛeɛ pa so ka nnipa a wɔkasa kwa no kasa no hyɛ.
16 As free, and not as making liberty a cloak for malice, but as the servants of God.
Montena ase sɛ nnipa a mode mo ho. Monnsusu sɛ mo de mo ho enti mobɛtumi ayɛ bɔne biara. Mmom, montena ase sɛ Onyankopɔn asomfoɔ.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Momfa anidie mma nnipa nyinaa. Monnɔ anuanom agyidifoɔ. Monsuro Onyankopɔn, na mommu Ɔhempɔn.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Afie mu asomfoɔ nso, mommrɛ mo ho ase mma mo wuranom, na monnni wɔn a wɔn yam yɛ na wɔn tirim yɛ mmrɛ nko ni, na wɔn a wɔn tirim yɛ den nso, monni wɔn ni.
19 For this is thankworthy, if for conscience towards God, a man endure sorrows, suffering wrongfully.
Sɛ moto mo bo ase tena saa yea a ɛmfata yi mu a, Onyankopɔn bɛhyira mo, ɛfiri sɛ, monim ne pɛ.
20 For what glory is it, if committing sin, and being buffeted for it, you endure? But if doing well you suffer patiently; this is thankworthy before God.
Na sɛ moyɛ bɔne na wɔhwe mo a, morennya ho mfasoɔ biara. Na sɛ moyɛ papa na wɔhwe mo na monya ho boasetɔ a, Onyankopɔn bɛhyira mo.
21 For unto this are you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example that you should follow his steps.
Yei enti na Onyankopɔn frɛɛ mo, ɛfiri sɛ, Kristo no ankasa hunuu amane maa mo, de saa nhwɛsoɔ no gyaa mo, sɛdeɛ mobɛdi nʼanammɔn akyi.
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.
“Kristo anyɛ bɔne. Obiara ante atorɔsɛm biara amfiri nʼano.”
23 Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not: but delivered himself to him that judged him unjustly.
Wɔbɔɔ no adapaa no, wammɔ wɔn bi antua ka. Ɔhunuu amane no, wampoopoo nʼani na ɔde nʼanidasoɔ nyinaa hyɛɛ Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ Ɔtemmufoɔ pa no mu.
24 Who his own self bore our sins in his body upon the tree: that we, being dead to sins, should live to justice: by whose stripes you were healed.
“Kristo no ankasa soaa yɛn bɔne” wɔ ne honam mu kɔɔ asɛnnua no so sɛdeɛ yɛbɛwu ama bɔne na yɛatena ase tenenee mu. “Nʼakuro mu na moanya ayaresa.
25 For you were as sheep going astray; but you are now converted to the shepherd and bishop of your souls.
Na mote sɛ nnwan a wɔayera,” nanso afei deɛ, wɔde mo asane aba sɛ mommɛdi Odwanhwɛfoɔ no ne mo Krasohwɛfoɔ no akyi.
